I had a 2008 S model convertible; original owner. The Sidewalk was just different seats and trim. The 2008 had a supercharger because the convertibles lagged behind the coupes in the design change where the coupes at that time had already gone to a larger platform and turbo. HarmonCardon radio was not unique to the Sidewalk, my S convertible had it as well as the optional classic mini bolt-on driving lights. These cars had the hood latch on the right for right hand drive cars. Being British, you can also set only the left or right side markers to be on when parked along a roadway edge at night per their laws. Last year for the bonnet to open with the lights. We dumped our 2008 in 2013 with 60K miles as it was in for repairs every 3 months since new, some parts were replaced three times like the oil-filled engine mounts and cracked thermostat housing. We got rid of it as the transmission was also failing....a $7,000 cost we narrowly avoided. Worst car ever.
Most Mini experts and enthusiasts would wholeheartedly disagree with you! Simply because the supercharged engines were way more reliable and the fact that they were actually made by BMW and when the turbocharged engines were introduced BMW sourced the engines out to the french company Peugeot which were and have terrible reliability issues
