Background: Birth Control Methods and Birth Control Method Choice

Activate: The Center to Bring Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Research to Youth-Supporting Professionals developed a five-part tutorial to illustrate and help youth-supporting professionals use the “Helping Young People Choose the Birth Control Method Right for Them” resource. This research-informed resource includes a Guide for Youth Supporting Professionals and a Birth Control Methods Information Booklet.
This module summarizes what we know from research about the factors that influence young people’s birth control choices and provides information about the five different categories of birth control methods.
