After watching this, you can only conclude that neither Spotify nor the artists involved have a clue on how to promote your music.

II've been making music for a long time, I don't know any famous people, nor do I have a lot of money for advertising. I can guarantee my music is much better than most popular music and I stand behind my music. No matter how many videos I watched on marketing and promoting my song, it never really helped me. I even went to the 2nd university on advertising. I live in a country where those who have money listen to millions even if they don't have talent, but talented people are invisible because they don't have money. / Turkey

Well As much as sharing music to your friends and family is useful and helps drive a small audience, getting legit fans interested in your music these days is through money, money and more money. I am a kid I don't have 1000 of dollars to spend on a marketing strategy, all I got going for me are my friends and family so I will come back in about 5 years when I have money to make my voice heard

I don't even share my favorite artist's records with the world, why would I waste my time with a friend's DIY project? Also , lets say I did share. lol you think you're going to get plays from my friendslist on instagram? nahh, they are nobodies, and unless i guilt tripped them they dont care. normal people just listen to songs and if they like it they save it, and move on.
