After watching this, you can only conclude that neither Spotify nor the artists involved have a clue on how to promote your music.
II've been making music for a long time, I don't know any famous people, nor do I have a lot of money for advertising. I can guarantee my music is much better than most popular music and I stand behind my music. No matter how many videos I watched on marketing and promoting my song, it never really helped me. I even went to the 2nd university on advertising. I live in a country where those who have money listen to millions even if they don't have talent, but talented people are invisible because they don't have money. / Turkey
Imagine thinking Spotify actually has artists backs
No way they gonna do it. Three years passed, nothing changed.
This video is only helpful for promotion if you're one of the artists being featured in this video.
Hahahhahahahahaha
Sorry - but you are wrong... I don't even think it helped them at all either... Never heard of a single one of the people in this video and there was no real incentive to even check THEM out either.... LOL
Wish you guys would make content that actually helps and not just a waste of time.
true
THIS... I sat through this and all it told me to do was tell people to listen to the song... Seriously? You needed a 4 minute and several people to say "Give a call to action asking people to listen to your song?" would would have though that's all you needed to do... (Get a promo guy and stop watching videos)
Cool hweep
i cant belive spotify think they helping us with this video , the only thing you get from this is to share your track on social media, thats not promotion. whats wrong with you people?
This is step 1, step 2 is pay, more pay more promotion you have
I already knew to share it on my social media, but it has done nothing. I am just checking these videos out. But they only go into it, in the most surface way possible.
@@neaituppi7306 what ppl dont know is sharing your links on social media is really bad, normally pages like facebook and so show your posts to only 5% of your audience, if your audience like it they will show it to a 10% and so on,, these pages make money when ppl stay on the page, when you post links your trying to get ppl out ofthe page, and they hate that. thats why they wont show your links to more that maybe 2%, most of your ppl wont even see it... and the more links you share the wors it will get to you........ i just cant belive spotify would tell an artists to share a fucking link... how stupid they want us to be???
Exactly what i’m saying
@@oscaraullon tbh
I think the concept sounds good, but is easy for them to promote their stuff since they already have contacts, and already are big in the music industry, how about us that literally are starting from ground zero?
and try a search of your artist name? Me, I have to go through 20 artists before my name comes up, alphabetically would be great but they don't want that.
@@slooky14 My name in general is pretty rare so AY1WIN my artist name always comes up first, just try to be as creative as possible with my song titles I capitalise certain letters add hyphens just trying to make it so if you search the exact title it’ll come up
@@slooky14 what’s your artist name?

Believe me or not, it's very similar. Your friend can also be a fan.
another Tip, find friends who are listening to the same music as you...
damn I never thought of asking my friends lol ima do that
Awwe I'm friendless what do I do now
This is step 1, step 2 is pay, more pay more promotion you have
too much pride to ask my friends
I felt this
you knowwwww
In order to reach people be famous, got it.
I'm so happy to be a Spotify artist. Happy New Year to you and all artists💗. I wish you all the best!🎉🎄🎆🌺
What they don't mention: Artists get no money for their hard work if they rely only on things like Spotify.
💯
Not really that insightful. Fluff video
This people are not cool, ARTISTS ARE COOL, they are just sitting in an office. This is why music business is a monopole
Can we get a video on how to get your songs onto official Spotify playlists please?
We hear you! For now, check out our playlist guide: artists.spotify.com/guide/playlists
Kelly Danté I second this!
Easy... do great music, spread it out the best you can and lastly know somebody that knows somebody.
Use the new submission tool. To submit an upcoming release song to their editorial for playlists consideration
Lilyung official good luck with that.
Thanks for the advices guys ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 * * *
This is helpful, thank you
Well As much as sharing music to your friends and family is useful and helps drive a small audience, getting legit fans interested in your music these days is through money, money and more money. I am a kid I don't have 1000 of dollars to spend on a marketing strategy, all I got going for me are my friends and family so I will come back in about 5 years when I have money to make my voice heard
Simple Money = More Fans = More Money,
its how it is.
I paid for promotion, I used 20:oo$ of my own money and my return was 21 cents! Did I say it was 21 cents? Yes 21 cents
@@slooky14 fam I invested 500$ in equipment but I only made 5 dollars so far but I feel like its a long time thing, music is a business that takes time to grow, We cannot blame spotify as it is not their job to even care about us as they are just a platform not like youtube. who have creators
@@Questary 500 is all in equipment? I have spent thousands on equipment. It cost me 70$ to get an album released, plus 20$ that I put in for promotion and so far 21 cents. All I am trying to say is when you get someone to release your music (company) and they brag about how much your music gets distributed to different platforms (spotify) being one of them and they give you this premise about all the dollars your going to make, don't believe it. Some of the platforms that I was getting released to, I couldn't even find myself or I had to go through 25 other artists to find me. I do it because I love it, but it gets very frustrating .
@@slooky14 ITS ALL about noise, my friend if you wanna truly make your money's worth with music, you need connections and a lot of people don't have that which makes it harder for others to make a proper living as a musician
I DO ALL THIS STUFF ALL THE TIME LIKE ALL THE TIME LIKE IN MY SLEEP. grind.
Lets wait ten years and we might just make it
@@Questary hey yes 34 seems like an ok age to breakthrough? Leonard Cohen style

Nice video !!! I always promote my music from the moment I go to the studio to the final release date.
Wow some great tips here, why did i not look at this before
My friends don’t pay attention to my CTAs anymore, neither my family… 😅
"Oxygen" by Powderr on Spotify | August 31
im actually shook at how informational this was
I love these videos guys! I'd say: Be inspired, and inspire those around you! :)
Such a useful video!
I love you Spotify
Okay well noted
i like
This was actually really good video.
No entiendo como no ponen la traducción en español, si latinoameria es un gran mercado
como sea es basura lo que dicen, no ayuda en lo absoluto
step 1: obtain said “friends”
Drake don't need this
1:55 I could tell by their clothes they are creative.
I like Spotify.
How is my music?
How to become the worst most annoying friend at a party...
Many times I've been that friend that the artist has "hit up to share their music"... and I can honestly say that is one of the most annoying and pathetic shit I have ever came across and the only time I have actually shared their music is out guilt. I don't even share my favorite artist's records with the world, why would I waste my time with a friend's DIY project? Also , lets say I did share. lol you think you're going to get plays from my friendslist on instagram? nahh, they are nobodies, and unless i guilt tripped them they dont care. normal people just listen to songs and if they like it they save it, and move on.
True. It's like all those UA-cam video's that have a 10 seconds "don't forget to press subscribe and like" interruption.
It’s hard to promote if only they would just go watch “Running” by Lando NXT🤦🏾♂️🎶
If you didt check Orion Promotion .com wow you mis it bro
Em....
Basicamente no dijeron nada
More information, less trying to be cool please
Wish you guys would make content that actually helps and not just a waste of time.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP PLEASE
Hmmm :)
🤣
Lol they all talk about teams and people around you....I'm just a one man EDM producer band... who wants to get my music out there.... and maybe earn a few quid on the way
CIOFF
Don't forget : Comment everywhere with useless phrases
вы внатуре шутите,еще расскажите как порнозвезды спят с фанами,чтобы известности и ажиотажа добавить,и так все ясно,что делать,я думал секреты какие покажите(
It seemed useful until I finished it and realized it didn't tell me anything.
ha LOL what did you aspect? corporate reality TRUTH? aiming at yo head, like the BUFFALO
Your channel has good info, but it's cringe af
The tone of this video is unbearable
Is this a humor show? Having to listen to these VERY bad jokes on this video makes me feel Spotify doesn't really take it seriously... But hey, they make money on all desperate artists and the music they produce and upload for FREEEeeeeee!
thanks guys...
THIS IS SUCH A JOKE!!///EVERY VIDEO TO HELP PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC IS LIKE.."POST IT ON FACEBOOK AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS".."USE SOCIAL MEDIA"..BLAH BLAH BLAH...BUT WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU IS THEY HAVE MILLIONS BACKING THEM UP AND A HOLE MARKETING TEAM!!..THATS THE DIFFERENCE. YOU CANT COMPETE WITH LABEL MONEY
Another bla bla bla video from Spotify that doesn't help to a fresh artist. You guys just loosing your connection with the artists. You grew a platform that only help those big names but you forgot about the rest of the iceberg. You turned us into slaves who promote your platform without giving anything in return. Spotify, if you're not a help for us we just gonna wait for another train like "Apple" and sell our outdated "Nokia". We already seen many stories like this when a dictator trying to be a friend. In reality, you have no unique selling proposition for us.
This are just very general concepts, one of them is basically spaming the sht out of your friends and followers which is plain disrespectful
Outdated AF!
