Ah yes, thank you for mentioning the oversize turtle statues and the giant chess set...I recall those well. Also, as a kid of about age 7, I remember a chance meeting with Colonel Sanders at The Mall. He gave me one of those KFC ballons that he always carried in his jacket pockets. Good times!
Wow this is very cool. I feel like it is so rare to find a mall with a fountain in the middle like that anymore. Such a nostalgic feeling when I saw that. Sad they got rid of two though, but nice they still have one.
@@TiltedTripodMedia just now getting my Drivers License back next month! 🙌🏼🙌🏼😺😺 Haven’t had them for over 6yrs! Lol I actually went to St Matt w/my parents few months ago but only went into Sephora lol
Love your videos. Keep it up. Underrated channel. Have you thought about a summer Route 66 trip? Staunton has a really cool antique store with tons of cool statues and a old car museum. Also Rabbit Ranch (kind of like Cadillac ranch with ace bugs) There is a ton of Route 66 stuff between Bloomington Illinois and Staunton Illinois.
Yes I have done Route 66 between Chicago and the Texas boarder. Unfortunately back then I wasn’t filming much but I have filmed most of the Illinois and Missouri and some of Oklahoma. I would love to document all of Route 66 and make a mega documentary unfortunately very few support the work I do here and with a car that is getting old and needs repairs to make the journey I am unfortunately underfunded. Not to mention the insane gas prices now a days. Sorry 😞
Thanks for watching my videos every view gets me add revenue. Although google takes most of the profit I’m great full for every bit I get as I can invest it back into filming.

Yeah unfortunately many things have killed malls online shopping being just a piece of the puzzle. Ironic now with the soaring gas prices we are realizing shipping individual items to millions of people is extremely costly bad for the environment and not very feasible with things like worker shortages backups at ports and pandemic shutdowns. Now I bet most wish we had our malls back so we could refresh the stale products they sell and make them boom once again
I walk this mall every day and love it 👏🏼🤗👍🇺🇸
Yeah it’s a cool place
❤ trabajé en 2001,_ 2003, yo pulía y sacaba brillo al piso de todos los pasillos de este hermoso mall. Amo USA

There are 2 fountains in there. The one with the horse topiary and one with small horse heads spitting water 😊
@@TiltedTripodMedia Ohh I missed that, nice! That is pretty awesome.
Great upload! Thanks! Been years since I’ve been there. Moved away to the Lexington area in the mid-00s
Wish you would have included Oxmoor Center in this also haha
Glad you enjoyed the video Lexington isn’t that far away so you could visit that mall again

I like how when he talks about the old Chuck E. Cheese he’s in the area where it used to be
Oh I didn’t even know or plan that. Wow I guess I’m that talented 😂😂😂
I was at that Zappos on opening day. Pretty cool.
Oh wow did they do anything special?
Have you been to Oxmoor Center and Jefferson Mall?
Yes and I filmed them they are in the archives for later date
I used to go here all the time. I miss this place. It will be cool to see it again tho. If I’m correct there is a abandoned outback across the street.
Hmm not sure about the Outback
Yep
Also my kids Sam and Matilda love your videos. Could you do a shoutout to them in your next video? They get out for summer break this Friday!

You remind me of the guy that owns arcade rescue 911 here in Indiana….
That sounds like a cool place. Maybe I’ll have to check it out
What’s URBEX??
Urban exploration. This includes exploring anything urban wether it’s retail and abandoned factory a dying mall or anything else in an urban setting
Back then malls were hopping but not that much anymore….
