BTW, I've heard that later on, the Dream Cycle involved completing all four sporting events within a 45-second time limit, so golf was included eventually.
Wow, ESPN had good game shows like Sports on Tap, Stump the Schwaub, Boardwalk and Baseball's Superbowl of Sports Trivia, etc. There were even good sports based games that ESPN never aired initially like Sports Challenge. This just feels like they weren't trying. As for Sports Trivial Pursuit...It's meh.
The "Dream League" footage seen here comes from one of the later seasons. In the earlier seasons, there were four members per team (three civilians and celebrity captain), and I believe each player had their own buzzer. The set also looked slightly better as the teams are on opposite ends of the stage instead of one team sitting above and behind the other ala Quiz Kids Challenge. This is mainly based off my own memory since there hasn't been any video footage from the earlier shows on the internet.
I agree that the premise in this show was brilliant and could have worked. Utterly nothing else did unfortunately. It looked cheap and was cheap. Gretchen and Dwight did OK with what they got. The hosting just was stiff.
Decided to change it up by putting a shortened Game Show Garbage intro after the subject's intro. Most people don't stick around for overly long intros anymore, so I delve right into setting up the show, show intro, glass break GSG Logo, then induction. It seems to work better this way.
Hi Cyndi first time commenter long time fan. are you going to do a future episode on Mike Richards. I think your perspective would be interesting. Btw I agree that mental health needs to be taken seriously. Have a great day
Speaking of ESPN, I'm not sure how good or bad Gaters would be-- it was produced by Stone-Stanley and only lasted two months. AFAIK, however, no episodes are on the circuit.
I think the same goes for Video Power. Johnny Arcade tries to act more hyper as main host while Terry Lee Torok plays the role of Jim Nantz in the video game world. I think their budget was something Bohbot/Saban tried to afford. The power mall had a lot of Heavy Shreddin, Batman, Battletoads and the like. Plus, Terry had a better advantage over Johnny. Dream League had the same predicament. Have more of the co-host get an advantage over the host.

The Worldwide Leader had THIS FLOP?!?
It had many flops.
This is a GSG review about "Dream League", which is an American sports-related game show in 1993 on ESPN. 🇺🇲 🇺🇲
Season 3 replaced baseball with hockey
*hears that name and cringes* Damn you Brodie!

Happy Birthday Cyndi! And thanks for another great induction!
Thank you!!
I was just thinking of this show the other day. Excited Cyndi’s covering this show!

Probably, not an error.
Marc reviewed Game On not too long ago.
Will the "Games of '90" be coming back?

This was on at 4:30 (or 5:30) before Sportscenter - I watched this afterschool while waiting for SC to come on!
They couldn't do it in USO so they could re-use the Super Bowl Of Sports Trivia sets, huh?
Even forgot to put the intro at the beginning (an updated one, mind you)?

Oddly enough, he had a great career as an actor.
The First season was leagues ( no Pun (seriously!)) better!!
This video in a nutshell: Cheap set. Each contestant needs their own buzzer.
Saved you 18 minutes.
That sport game show got problems.
10-yard-penalty for gross understatement.
@@matthewdaley746 that's right.
@@jamesmoss3424 Yet, still, better than when ESPN became CNN with a sports theme.
@@matthewdaley746 I agree with you on that.
@@jamesmoss3424 Thank You, Network Decay at its absolute worst.
THIS SHOW WAS A QUIZ-HOGS!
