Totally agree,i reset my downstairs every night. Knowing it’s all set and ready is so positive for my mind. One extra thing I do is I get all of the breakfast bits out and ready to go on the side so it’s all out and my daughters can come down and start making their cereals etc before me if I’m not quite ready at the same time. They love the independence it gives them.

Growing up, my mum set the breakfast table every single night and we all came to breakfast every day- wasn’t until I was a teen that I realised not all families did this. Love my mum ❤
I love to get up to a clean house. Then I can relax and have coffee. I feel if the dishes are done, laundry done, and trash taken out that's a big start. Take care. 💖💖💖

I work in the afternoons/early evenings & am too tired to do this after work, so I clean the kitchen while the news is on at dinner (lunch) time. It’s so nice to come home - & wake up - to a clean & tidy kitchen.
Can’t beat Fairy. I also use their liquitabs & washing up liquid. Thee best.

Hey Emily, hope you’re well I’m happy, good and well thank you good evening love this 6 step evening cleaning routine video. I’ve really enjoyed this 6 step evening cleaning routine. It made me feel so happy and motivated to clean my home and tidy it most often in the week. My favourite things I like to do is to unload and reload my dishwasher filled with washing up in the sink. Sometimes I might often time myself to see how long it takes me to unload and reload my dishwasher. I neither boil the kettle and do my dishwasher or putting your cleaning videos then starting cleaning my home that way I feel so much better for it of what cleaning tasks or chores that I have to do most days in the week. Having a load of laundry put into the washing machine each evening in the week helps to reduce the amount of times of washing you having in the washing machine everyday of the week. I like hanging and folding up laundry most weeks because it makes me feel happy and organised as well. I always make clean as fun and lovely as much as possible as I can in the weeks. That way I stayed on top of laundry every often in the day. Wipe down all the surfaces everywhere in the home instantly makes it clean and sparkle too. I tend to use a antibacterial spray or wipes to clean the surfaces. I liked the song called Building Chemistry by Cody Francis The pistachio light green and white artificial flowers in the vase are just fabulous. I like to vacuum the floors so much because I find it fun. I love cleaning my sink using some cif cleaner around my sink and next up I scrub down my sink with a sponge and finally put some water into the sink to keep it clean. If you already done unload your dishwasher you don’t have to do it every time until the dishwasher is full again in the evenings as well. I think it’s a great routine Emily. I just wonder if it’s realistic for us on daily basis, as our toddler goes to be in bed at 9 pm , then we need to take a shower and get ready for bed . I do some organising around the home but there is not much time left to sit down and relax , as we try to be in bed by 10.30pm. So I guess it will work well with earlier bedtime but for us right now it will be hard to squeeze in everything and have time to chill at the end of the day. 😅
I use a denture tablet in my water bottles the plastic ones . Freshens them up. Also for my tea spoons and cups if you don’t have dish washer .
one of your evening routine videos inspired me to not just wash the dishes at night, but to also wipe, and clean everything in the kitchen. Each morning the first thing you would do is go to the kitchen and prepare breakfast. So, it makes sense that aside from the work being lessened in the morning, it brightens the mood and keeps you motivated to start the day.
It's always the struggle of my life and when I manage to clean in the evening, my mornings are so awesome 👌. Thanks for inspiration.

Thanks for your comment about having to clean up after babies weaning and that it gets better! I needed to hear that, I struggle to keep the floor clean for more than a few hours!

Hi I found using dishes for lasagna sometimes hard to clean, so I switched to foil trays which makes things easier and you can throw them away after use, also they are freezable, love your channel, you have such a lovely family x
Those Fairy tablets are incredible, Emily! It was so lovely to see all of your evening cleaning with the boys getting involved. My Mum has also been addicted to Happy Valley, cannot pull her away from it so I totally see where you and Matt are coming from! 😆

Hi Emily- you’re all working like a well oiled machine 🥰 Totally agree about getting up to a tidy kitchen. It’s so much better to start the working day in a clean space.... my gosh, very impressive result on the baked on food! I still have trouble putting unrinsed dishes in the dish washer. I just put a small amount of soapy water in the sink and give a quick rinse. We don’t always run it daily so it would get stinky.😊 Lovely to see you all 🌟

We also have the same dishwasher as you (we love it) and I tend to just use 1hr 30 cycle most days, so defo going to try on the 30 mins wash with my fairy tabs.

I sometimes do this every night and totally agree with the reset. But right now in my third trimester of 2nd pregnancy and cannot find the strength post-8pm to do anything :( will return to the good routines eventually though. Am so jealous of your laundry room! it's perfect ^_^ For now my bathroom rail will have to do.

Emily, it’s great to have a routine. I do, however, have to question the dishwashing. I agree that washing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher is silly, however, frankly I don’t want loose little scraps going in my machine, it isn’t a garbage disposal😀. I use PG Cascade, which I presume must be the American equivalent to the Fairy tablets and they do a great job, even with my hard water. The boys are getting so big.🙂

Hi Emily ! Love your renovation. I think the big vase will look more beautiful in the kitchen window . Also , the hanging light shades above the island ,need a little change , something in black or rose gold matching with the kitchen drawer handles will change the look completely, the whole place will look even prettier , just a suggestion!

I use these tablets only when we have really dirty, greasy or baked on dishes and they really work well, but they are way too expensive. For normally dirty dishes I use cheaper option.

Does your kids also ask for something to eat after shower/before bed? I feel like a lot of time passes between dinner and bedtime so I can understand their need for a snack/drink, I wonder if it is just me 😆
Those cuts on the counter stone near gas stove felt a bit risky..hope there's an option to get them sanded and curved to avoid getting poked while working in rush times..gorgeous kitchen..a dream..

I've not had much success with those dishwasher tablets I still end up washing the dishes again afterwards so I've switched to cast iron dishes instead. Nothing sticks

Are the dishwasher tablets septic safe? We are off-grid, rainwater tanks, solar energy with battery storage, and septic. So anything that uses less power and water is really helpful.
