    Ramarpatham
    Ramarpatham is an important tourist place in Rameswaram. Ramar patham is also spelled as Ramar Padam or Ramar padham or Gandhamadhana Parvatham. It is believed that, from this place rama oversee srilanka in the legendary of Ramayanam. Ramar patham has the foot print of Lord Rama and is a sacred place for Hindus. Tourists are visiting Ramar padham and do prayers in this temple.From this Ramar patham, one can get the full view of Rameswaram and a good view of dhanushkodi. In the first floor of Ramar Patham we can see the imprint of Ramar patham in a chakra. You can see the photo of the Ramars inprint in the below. Ramarpatham, an amazing location, is a hillock situated about 3 kms from the temple of Rameswaram. The hillock provides an amazing view of the entire Rameswaram Island and also has an imprint of Lord Rama’s feet on a chakra.
    Dhanushkodi
    Dhanushkodi is an abandoned town at the south-eastern tip of Pamban Island of the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is south-east of Pamban and is about 24 kilometres (15 mi) west of Talaimannar in Sri Lanka. The town was destroyed during the 1964 Rameswaram cyclone and remains uninhabited in the aftermath. Today only a few vendors and restaurants can be seen at Dhanushkodi during the day along with the ruins of the long destroyed town.
    This is the highest altitude of rameswaram as per the old historical representations.
    DHANUSHKODI LIGHTHOUSE
    A new Lighthouse at Dhanushkodi has been established to fulfil the long-standing demand of the local fishermen and also to enjoy the aerial scenic beauty of Dhanushkodi, for tourists visiting from the various parts of the world.
    Dhanushkodi was an ancient port for more than 200 to 300 years which can be understood from the records made in ancient history of Agananuru and also recorded by the ancient historian Marco Polo in his voyage evidences. Since the 15th century there was a daily boat service from Dhanushkodi to Thalaimanaru, Yazhpanam and Colombo in Sri Lanka.
    The British Government introduced a train service from Chennai Egmore to Dhanushkodi and a ship service from Dhanushkodi to Thalaimannar, after constructing Pamban Railway Bridge in between Mandapam and Pamban of Rameswaram Island. The first passage of the Mail Boat train service was commenced on 24 February 1914.
    Vibhishana Theertham
    The Kothandaramaswamy Temple at Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu is a shrine dedicated to the Hindu deity Rama. The temple is Classified one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. Located at a distance of 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from Rameswaram, it forms the southernmost tip of the island.[1] The temple is the only historical structure to survive the 1964 cyclone that washed away Dhanushkodi. The temple has the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, Hanuman and Vibhishana. The temple is surrounded by sea and remains a tourist attraction. It is easily accessible from Rameswaram.
