    This is actually my go-to palette... Some things worth mentioning are that:
    the color in the upper left corner is really not pigmented at all, but adds a beautiful shimmer if applied on top of stuff.
    The second one in on the lower row is the perfect brow shade for me, so I don't need any brow powder, top right might also work, if your hair is darker. (they might also work as a contour...)
    One thing this palette lacks is a matte white/beige, the third top is pretty peachy, so not that good for yellow skinned people (for me it's pretty much exactly my eyelid color)
    second top and second to last top are pretty much the same shade, the right one being a tad darker, the other one shimmery, but I use them interchangeably.
    Right now I've used the palette so much that I've mixed gold and the two perly highlights together into the upper corner and filled up the empty containers with a silver and a matte white. I've already filled up the lower corner with a similar shade twice as it's my go-to crease shade. As you might have already taken from my filling up again and again the paletty itself is pretty sturdy.

    Just a recommendation based on personal preference, sometimes when you keep showing the palette different ways like sideways, then rightside up, then upside down it gets difficult to follow when some colours are similar on both ends, so that could be made more consistent but in case you prefer doing it like this, i'm not judging :) just suggesting :) love your videos!

    WARNING: THIS IS NOT A HATE COMMENT
    I bought this palette cos I heard such great reviews about it, and no hate here, I was really disappointed :( Considering that it costed 30 NZ dollars, it wasn't very good and I would say that it wasn't pigmented at all. Most of the shades were not pigmented and there were only three or so shades that I actually liked. I love this video but it's just the palette that I was disappointed with :(
    Any thoughts?

    • @AlexaLikes

      I bought mine for much less in Canada purely to do this video because the product was popular. It's not the best palette, I even say that in the video and there are definitely duds in it. If you are in NZ or Australia, where drugstore makeup if priced outrageously, you almost better off paying a bit more for med-high end beauty-cult favourite products (like the Naked palette). I'm nto even sure if Urban Decay is accessible over there, though :( Sorry to hear that

    Thanks for sharing how to use this palette! May I make a suggestion for your next video? You flip the palette around several times in this video so I had to pause the video and turn my around to find the color you were using. I prefer to put on my light colors first so the brush doesn't get dirty with the dark colors.

    For eyeliner I usually use maybelline eye studio gel eyeliner and I use a very thin brush. Do u think maybe you could make an eyeliner tutorial? It would be verrrry much appreciated. But I love this look! And honestly your eyeliner is stunning. If u could maybe also try doing a video testing out the maybelline eye studio gel eyeliner to see if you like it that would also be really cool.

    Okay, so I'm a beginner with eyeshadow. I have yet to master the nude look. My question is is does the tone of your skin matter? I see people with darker and lighter skin doing these videos, but I haven't really seen anyone with my shade doing them. Also, I just have primer, mascara, eyeliner, and eye shadow. And concealer. I see so many people adding foundation and certain primers, and it confuses me. Do you need everything? The people I shop with say that I don't need foundation because my skin is perfect on its own. But I see lot of people that use it for color, and it confuses me even more.

    • @AlexaLikes
      @AlexaLikes  5 років тому

      Honestly, everyone is different and you have to experiment with what you prefer. These days I use foundation or concealer as primer after it is set with translucent powder. Other days, when I'm wearing something more intense that I want to last long, I use a primer. This palette is pretty universal for a lot of skin types but it isn't the most pigmented.

    • @AlexaLikes
      @AlexaLikes  9 років тому +1

      Sapna Shukla thank you! I'm 99% sure that I was wearing Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Notting Hill Nude. For pinks, there is always the Naked 3 (Maybelline came out with a blushed palette but I would check reviews before getting that). For peaches, I don't have a recommendation. To be honest, I don't reach for pinks or peaches too often so I can't give you a dead on recommendation. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help :p

    So what's the difference between eyeshadow primer and base? I thought they were the same thing just with different names? Do you need both?

    • @InconditeQuidam
      @InconditeQuidam 9 років тому +2

      Paige Regit A primer is sheer and thin. It kind of dries your eyelid like a canvasso no oil dissolves your eyeshadow therefor no fading or creasing. it's meant to make it last longer.A base is a thicker, usually greasier and creamier formula. It makes the eyeshadow stick so it is much more vibrant/prominent, but if your have oily eyelids and you're not using the right base it will still crease. It's meant to make the colour simply show up more so you use less shadow.
      You can use both or whichever one you think is more suitable for your needs and skin type.

      +Shrëyã D I think they tried to make it easier for beginners and makeup novices, so generally speaking, less pigmented eyeshadows would be easier to use. In terms of super pigmented eyeshadows at the drugstore - I'd opt for wet n wild. They have sick pigmentation for the price.

    • @AlexaLikes
      @AlexaLikes  9 років тому

      It might be your technique. So long as you are using a blending brush and a packing brush, then it's probably not your brushes. I had some trouble getting blending these shadows to ensure they wouldn't disappear, I'm generally light handed with makeup. I don't know... but I can tell you that this palette is by no means up to par with better quality shadows like wet n wild or urban decay.

      That's true. I mention that the pigmentation is hit or miss and you definitely need a primer with these. That's the issue with drugstore palettes, you usually get duds.

    What’s the difference between Nudes of New York vs The Nudes?

      I have not personally tried Nudes of New York, it seems to look similar but with more shades that look warmer toned.
