I think it's called Kapha because this is a fantasy setting with slightly different names. Khopesh is spelt with hieroglyphs on the Rosetta stone using "kh", "p", and "sh". Vowels weren't really a thing yet. It is sometimes vocalized as Khapesh, for instance.
So I'm guessing the Developers just wanted a name similar while not making you think Egypt exists in the setting.
yup, just like you dont see a pugio, gladius, falcata, or falx. All because its rome with the serials filed off.
Correct! Kappen means 'chopping' in my language (flemish - dutch) so it felt like a fun variation also. Also kappa. (kappa)
The names are also very onomatopoeiic in some cases, but mostly I snuck in little references to creative works of my past, my life or random things I thought sounded fun or good.

On that point, I noticed a fair amount of weapons named differently from their real world counterpart. (I work with and make melee weapons for a living). The easiest one to see is the gladiator trident (actual name). In game this is the square trident.

Spear + shield (faerdaka preferably) is an op combo in the later parts of the game when they all have shields just keep poking overhead
It's the most sustainable and combat effective, but if there are greater numbers against you, two wield maces/swords to the trick
Sometimes art truly imitates life huh
it gets really rough with two handed sword or even sword and shield, I always had to run around them and hit them in the shins lol
If you ask me, flail and shield is the best in the entire game- It's complete bullshit, you go for swings and most of the time (assuming you're doing it right), you can just attack right over or around the enemies shield and hit them regardless. It does so much damage that you can plow through enemies quickly- I've won so many 1 v many's with the flail.
Because of the helmet and constant yoinking of loot, I see this run as:

@@jacksonnorquist2703 Happen to me 4 years ago,i saw a gameplay of a game 3 YEARS BEFORE IT RELEASED,and no one seemed to remember it except me,when a youtuber posted a gameplay about the new game,i told him i saw him play this game and he tought i was lying,since the game had just released,then i proceeded to tell him the whole game without it even being completed by anyone,its like a had a preview of the game,i already knew the ending,and the full game,its weird
@@white2487 me too! It’s absolutely mental. I told my friends the ending and everything but they just thought I was crazy. There was a dragon and it was in a form of the afterlife and there was this wild battle, insane shit that I knew before the game released. Legit 10 years before!

I think the a lot of the weapons just have different names for flavor purposes. The dakka looks a lot like a Roman gladius and the puku dagger thing resembles a pugio. Those big two-handed swords with the forward curve, can't recall their in-game name, strongly resemble falxes and/or rhomphaias.

The names of a few things are slightly altered, so "Kapha" is just this game's version of a Khopesh, similarly "Myrodon" is the game's version of the Myrmidon.

Kapha is verzion of Khopesh that is made not only for hacking but also for piercing, Khopesh itself got more of a blade like an axe, thicker with duller tip, while Kapha got more tip that is thinner yet sharper
