New year, old tactics! If it’s not broke don’t fix it 💪🏻 I decided to go back to basics after a few bad sessions on the bank ! So, me and my dad set out to high heyes with multiple colours and kinds of wafters and my own brand high sided banjo feeders and pellets.
I also wanted to get more underwater footage! What I learned from this session was so simple yet incredibly informative !

Had a good day yesterday at high hayes hard day as expected there caught best carp at10.14pounds lake 3, so chuffed went to tell the guy behind on lake 2 only to watch as he caught 13.4 pounds carp he later carried over another carp weighing 18 pound + waking mine look toddler carry on with videos great

Good information via the underwater camera and tips on the dinner plate and how not to bury the feeder. The tench definitely a bonus.

Like i said on the yeadon tarn video you dont get youtube fishermen out in these weather conditions,but you get yourself out there for your subscribers and we like watching the channel even if you blank or bag up,keep them coming.

@@WestysAnglingdefinitely! Was a great session you both had! I've recently had a go at some winter chub on the river Irwell on bread which has been fun too. Also started trying a bit of lure fishing... Broadening my horizons a bit!

Where abouts on the River irwell ? Who owns the rights to that river ? Or is it mostly free ?
@@WestysAngling some nice chub up by Bury at Burrs Park - fishing rights there with Ramsbottom Angling Assoc. Downstream of there apparently some pike and the stretch Salford Anglers hold is apparently good. Upstream of Bury there is some free which has some amazing fish but access is more limited...

I won't be fishing till May. (my 1st match of the year) I have some out of date, Cod Liver Oil capsules which I'm going to burst & squeeze 1 or 2 onto the Method feeder for a bit of attractant. Might even try hooking one so it leaks out a bit -. Nothing Ventured ......

Try putting candle wax on the zip of the wetter , this may lubricate and sort out the problem .

I bought some "Band um" chocolate orange Sinkers by mistake (didn't read the lid cos. I'm old) They do work well though!!

Great footage. Was there on monday, lakes 2 and 3 totally frozen, we managed to get on the top end of number 1 and had plenty of silvers, lost a couple of decent ones unfortunately but was a beautiful sunny day and surprisingly warm in the sunshine. Unable to use my pole comfortably atm so did some cage feeder fishing. Enjoying the underwater footage m8,

Had a similar session to yours straight after new year on the top bank of 3. Had 57 fish, 1 rod just on maggot catching ide,roach and perch just to keep me active and second rod on method to the aerator which produced a tench,a carp,2xf1s a goldfish! and a new pb barbel at 6lb. Kicking the new year off to a great start. Random 3am reply, at docs today and worrying so not sleeping. Keep up underwater footage btw its great.

Hi Westy. Great vid mate, again! Just a thought..... If the carp at HH are always up in the water, have you tried bomb and bread method? Popped up bread, on a 50cm hooklength might do the trick.
Bread would work great at high heyes, but it’s banned. The rule police would have a nervous break down on here 😂 I have thought about using maybe a zig with a dog biscuit popped up. Definitely something I’m going to try in spring!
Once again a fantastic upload with loads of tips and information. Could you please tell me what reels and what rod pod and bite indicators you are using. Thanks so much for doing what you do its brilliant.
Rodpod is NGT , reels I use are mostly the Daiwa regal and Shimano DL , rods are Korum xtend rods, bite alarms are Sonik skx 👍🏻
Does the deep side banjo feeder give up the feed, in one shot it was full after you pulled in? Great video, especially for Dad🎣😄
It was a fairly fast take so it hadn’t all come out the feeder on that occasion. But yes the feed comes out of them fine 👌🏻
Be interesting to see underwater footage at lakeside....
I think he put some up on another video in lakeside. If memory serves me right it was like chocolate soup. But might be mistaken . I’m sure he’ll correct me if I’m wrong. 😂😂

Interesting to see how the method feeder reacts on landing on the bottom and on retrieve with the camera footage. If the method feeder surface was a wider teardrop shape would that help it sink less into the silt bottom.
