I’m in Wears Valley and it was a shit show here. Everything was ice got almost 2 inches. People couldn’t get to rentals and abandoned cars left at the bottoms of the mountain roads or in ditches. Love y’all’s content!
Love the video, Eric! I have a question that I’ve meant to ask before now…I actually forgot! We were there in October and were heading to Sugarlands. I’m not sure how far into the park we were, but I glanced over to the left and could’ve swore I saw headstones in an old cemetery….this was just right off the road. I had never noticed this before and actually told my husband we needed to explore that sometime. Do you have any idea if there actually is a cemetery located somewhere thru there?
It is very likely you saw a graveyard in that location. The former Sugarlands community was in this area. You can still find remnants of homes, walls, and other artifacts there. The Sugarlands Self-Guided Nature trail is short, and paved and allows opportunities to see some of this up close and personal. You can find it as the first parking lot on the left as you start up Newfound Gap rd. Hope this helps!

Clingmans dome is closed. We tried to go a week before Christmas and the road was closed.

We moved here in 2021. But the temps on the 26th were in the 20’s. Now that the wind calmed down it actually wasn’t bad. Thanks for watching.
