For four days this Test has bubbled up and it finally burst into life on the fourth evening as Virender Sehwag pummelled an exhilarating 83, giving India an audacious start to chasing a daunting 387 for victory. Most of this match has been spent marvelling at the concentration of Andrew Strauss, who earlier in the day became the tenth England batsman to score twin hundreds but his innings, as well as Paul Collingwood's resolute 108, were quickly forgotten amid Sehwag's 68-ball onslaught. Rattled, the visitors were only calmed by a late Graeme Swann strike who trapped, crucially, Sehwag.

People were scared to go out, there was doubt , despair and a sense of distress all around. When the Indian team came out to play , every person , in the crowd or watching on tv , was one with them. That winning moment was a beacon of hope of our unity not as a cricketing nation , but also as a country that knows how to thrive amidst challenges, when all odds are stacked against us and we still continue to prevail.

@@Quicksilver12345 Not as flat as they made it look like. Look at Laxman's dismissal. Plus a few other balls that went past everyone. Yuvraj and Sachin were too good with sweeps and paddles, today's Indian batsmen would struggle to play the same amount of spin with that ease.
It's not the team that wins, it's not the celebrity players that win, it's the game Cricket that wins with sportsmanship everywhere in both teams, and obviously it's Humanity that wins through SACHIN who shaked hands patiently even without moving a single step to make all those running Chennai ground staff happier forever. This Indian batting lineup is one of the strongest, if not THE strongest batting lineup of all time in Test history. I am not saying it was a great team, since bowling and fielding were below par, but batting wise I cannot think of a stronger lineup. Even the contemporary Aussie lineup, while a better overall team due to their vastly superior bowling, was still slightly below this Indian lineup if ONLY batting is considered.
Yes Indeed, Indian Batsmen were against the best bowlers of the world supported by best fielders in the world who alone used to save 50 + runs of opponent just in fielding. Still Indian team used to win over Australia once a while because our batting lineup was tooo good even after subtracting -50 saved by aussies fielders - 100 saved by best bowlers and sometimes -2 wickets by Buckner.
Whereas Aussies batsmen had advantage of poor Indian fielding (except Yuvraj and Dravid) + 50 runs and not the best bowling lineups.
This tells all the story.. and if someone only look at numbers, then as well, count the runs of Tendulkar, Ganguly द्रविड Sehwag Laxman. Always 1 on 1 better thwn aussie counterpartts
One of the best Viru pa's innings in test cricket. Coming as an opener, chasing 387 under pressure is not at all easy. His fiery knock gave a tremendous start to India's win in the test contributing to a century partnership with Gauti bhai. And then Gauti bhai, Sachin paaji and Yuvi pa taking India towards victory that to at Chepauk stadium. Remember it was day 5 at Chennai, one of the toughest tracks to bat on day 5. Recollecting those memories boosts our confidence to sky high levels.
