Hello David, I have one and I bought it new about two years ago from CZ USA. CZ markets this gun here in the USA as a “Hammer Classic”. The gun is very well made but the triggers were awful (about 7-8lbs each), I sent it back to CZ in Kansas and they re-worked them and got it down to a reasonable 4 lbs each. This gun is barrel heavy, I changed the recoil pad and added some lead to the butt end to get it over the hinge pin. Fun gun to shoot and I shot it last year in a Side-by- Side registered event and I got some envious stares from some Purdy shooters! Michael P.
Years ago CZ came out with a hammer "coach gun" for the cowboy action crowd here in the US. It had barrels about 18" to 20" and cylinder bores. People begged CZ to put longer barrels on the gun like the one you have. CZ did put 30" barrels that take the screw in chokes and I bought one last year. It is a lot of fun to shoot when you remember to cock the hammers. I shoot sporting clays with the gun when I just want to have fun shooting.
I have 2 Huglu SxS. One branded CZ 12g the other a Huglu 28g. Both are excellent, well balanced, pattern nice. The 28g is my favorite shotgun for upland hunting, imported it from Canada. Both bought new, both dead reliable. They have beautiful wood with tasteful engraving. Have fired cases of rounds through each, no misfires.
I have the Coach gun model with cylinder chokes. I shoot skeet with it and it works great. You just need to remember to move your finger to the other trigger during doubles. Anyone who sees it wants to give it a try. Great shotgun
As stated previously, CZ imports Huglu guns into the US. CZ putting their name on them attests to their quality. Bonus, they use black chrome instead of bluing.
Please do a video on shooting this one/type. I purchased a Weatherby 20bore SXS after watching one of your videos it's been going strong after 600+ rounds of clays.
I had one and liked it except for as high priced it was i didn't like the cheap pressed checkering or alot of the metal engraved on it, I got a coach gun from Cimarron arms and it's great and under 700 dollars
I've got a pair 20ga o/u. One number difference on the serial numbers... and a 12ga s×s of theirs. And they don't make a fine gun... and the go anywhere from 300 to 15k. It just depends on how nice of a gun you want. These hammer guns are sold under the cz name here in the states.
I have had a Huglu and they are rubbish. My gun started misfiring and I asked my gunsmith to have a look, he said the metal was so soft he was frightened to put it in a vice. Made a repair but back to misfiring so scrap basically.
Here in the states we pronounce it "Hoo-loo". 😃 They've been known for fine shotguns for quite awhile, albeit they seem to fly under the radar as a manufacturer.

Is it rebounding hammers ? And also what bore are they 12 ,16, 20, ?
Also look at the F.A.I.R Iside and RFM Minerva guns.
Nice hammer gun
Would have been nice to have seen some close ups instead of waving it about
It looks quite old fashioned, an early 20th century SXS hunting gun chic.
That's not a side lock ,just a side plate
What about the pedersoli wyatt earp 20 inch side by side
I have the 28" Davide Pedersoli La Bohemienne, lovely thing!
Love it David! Why can't we get them in the UK? I think they would get snapped up.
