THAT'S where it is! That giant Sponge Bob statue at 2:00 was originally commisioned for the Nick Resort in Orlando, where it lived for 11 or so years before they rebranded the hotel. I worked there for 9 years and helped disassemble and pack it up for shipment. I'd love to take the family down to Punta Cana one day to see how a Nick Hotel is supposed to operate and be managed.
It’s a very nice hotel, the staff is very friendly and willing to go above and beyond. If you take your family they will have an amazing time. They also have a man hole cover hidden next to the walkways. If you step on it you can hear the ninja turtles yell cowabunga! And talk back to you. Lots of hidden gems around the hotel.
Hey just found your video! Looking into going here in the next month. How was everything with the pandemic? Was there certain restrictions because of it ?
Yes it is all you can drink at the bar. They have their own national drink called Mama Juana! I recommend you try that. It’s a mixture of red wine and a bit of rum infused with a sweet tree bark and a hint of cinnamon. Their is plenty to do, on and off the resort. We took a tour on some Polaris off road vehicles to a small village where they show you how they make chocolate with the cacao. From their we went to Macao beach via dirt back roads. They give you about 30 minutes at the beach to be in the water and take in the views. From their we went to see a natural cave with a Cenote which is pretty much a natural water filled cave that you can swim in. The water was very cold but we jumped in to get some of the dust off. All the back roads are dusty so take a bandana or a mask and some cheap sunglasses because they might get damaged. Make sure to also take some petty cash to buy items like cigars or chocolate at the first location.
Good Job F.Villela 👏🏽👍🏼
