Been using text now for years but it no all it cracked up to be without paying some money. You have to pay to secure a number. if you let it laps then you lose your number and then you have to start over. there is good deals if you want to buy a phone.
How does this even work? Is it piggy backing off of specific carriers like cricket or boost or is this strictly VoIP? Also, is this similar to the lifeline program or obama phone program?
Good questions! Without the sim card you make calls and texts thru the app via VOIP. With the sim card, calls, texts, and data is used on T-Mobiles network. There are free govt phone programs but you have to qualify income wise which varies by state, and some states don't even participate in the program.
Text Now does not have electronic Sim capability or rather known as e Sim capability they don't have it the question is why don't want to make a cell phone service accessible to everybody then get on the Eastern bandwagon text now get on the electronic Sim Van Wagon if you really really want to make cell phone service accessible to everyone then get on the electronic Sim bandwagon this is a message for you text now get on the electronic Sim bandwagon if you really want to make cell phone service accessible to everybody

True it's not absolutely free, but it's as close to free as it can be. Closer than anything else that isn't a govt program
