  • In preparation for Purim, Justin is joined by Torah teacher and sociologist of American Jews Mijal Bitton to explore who or what is Amalek, the evil tribe that attacked Israel from behind in the desert and launched millennia of antisemitism, and how do we think about Amalek this year in particular and what are our obligations.

One of the better discussions on the topic. Dr. Bitton was great in "the early phase" and continues to be great at present.

I don'r see how a person can be anti zionist and not be anti semitic.

There is no difference. Zionism means exactly what it is: the right of Jewish people to self-determine. If anyone says otherwise, ask them what Islamism means. Exactly the same for Muslims living in Islamic countries with sharia law.

That is a predictable reply for a bot or a plain anti semite.

Nothing Antisemetic about what I said. You throw that word around and it’s losing power everyday. Come to the States say that with me having a witness and I sew you for slander.@@tigersforever4577

Interesting interview. Even without being religious, any sane, liberty-loving individual should remember that Hitler's favorite, "Antisemitism" (which has unfortunately stuck in daily use) was an absurd, deceptive, manipulative and tragic term. It's enough to watch "The Turban & Sawastika" (on Vimeo) to begin to understand the Jihadi branding, word-spinning pathological racist game. Yes, both Hitler and alHusseini were an AMALEK. Anybody who intends to annihilate the Jews, Israel & Zionism (JIZ) is an AMALEK, or, an anti-JIZ racist (take your pick). "Palestine," BTW, is a shrewd, manipulative re-branding (in the 1960s) of the former British Mandatory Palestinian Arabs (who used to identify as Syrians of "lower Syria" or as Jordanians). This re-branding is actually no different than the copy/pasting, flipping the stories and re-branding (1300 yrs ago, or so) the ancient Hebrew Reader, MIKRAH into the the Arabic Reader, KOR'AN and injecting a "Holy hate, love of death" doctrine (which is a pathological, perverse "rational"). A lot can be learned (and it should be done ASAP) from liberal Muslims, exMuslims, Christians and Jews from Muslim-Majority countries. Cynthia Farahat's "Secret Apparatus," Asra Nomani's "Woke Army, Bat Ye'or's "Eurabia," Dr Wafa Sultan's "A God Who Hates" and, by contrast, UAE's Omar Sa'if Ghobash's "Letters to a Young Muslim." NYU students, in particular, may want to read Philosophy prof Emeritus, Leonard Peikoff's "The Ominous Parallels" and "Cause of Hitler's Germany," which is like the story of Wokefied, Regressive-Aggressive, illiberal culture today..
