Hi Nikki. I adopted a dog that appeared to have a similar skin condition many years ago. No tick-related illnesses that I was aware of. My veterinarian recommended that I add omega 3 fatty acids to his diet. For what it's worth, it did the trick!
I love this! It seems the permanent patches were tick but since he got off his McDonald’s diet and on raw his coat is getting soooo much better!!! Thank you!
@@NikkiDelventhal If you keep an eye on his coat and hairloss it can also be cause by skinmites that eat the hairfolicoles. In that case the same medicine that you use for flees and ticks can help. I hope he is doing better. They dogs are so cute and you're great with them.

Hi from Reno! Just wanted to drop in and say I love watching you and your dogs. It's become a ritual for me and my 3 yr old to watch your videos on Fridays. We've been going through a hard time the last month, so having a video to look forward to on Fridays has helped a lot. Thank you for being so kind and genuine. Also, I know Cyan Park in South Reno has a wonderful dog park, and I believe you can park there overnight (but double-check on that since I'm not 100% sure). I wish you all the best.
Our German shepherd was losing hair on the tips of her ears and was scratching all over. I started eliminating “people” food I was guilty of giving her (mainly the ends of our sourdough bread) and the itching stopped and after a couple months the hair grew back.

Vet tech here 👋🏻 worked in dermatology. Did you see a dermatologist? There’s a condition we commonly see in poodles, but any breed can have it, called sebaceous adenitis. It doesn’t look exactly like it, but hard to say. Vasculitis of some sort, maybe. He should have a derm take a biopsy of one of those lesions to confirm what’s going on. I wouldn’t have anyone but a derm do it - they know how to select the best spots to sample. Hope you get some answers!
Omg thank you for reaching out! I did see a derm! We did a scrape and a skin punch test! Bingo on the extreme vasculitis, they said the scarring is so deep! They said perhaps the tick illnesses are hitting hard so we’re trying that and it seems to be happening less and less so let’s hope! Thanks for the input this is so helpful!
@@NikkiDelventhal ah, excellent, so glad you saw a derm! Now the question can be if the vasculitis is from the tick bites themselves or the tick-borne disease since both can cause it - I guess if he was getting new lesions those would be from the tick-borne disease. He is seeing the best folks to treat him for it. Glad he’s having less issues with it!
G'day Nikki, Michelle here from beautiful Jervis Bay in Australia. It's actually 5.55am Saturday 17th as I text this, so Good Morning! I have been a HUGE fan of yours since your Prius days and remain loyal to your channel as you are the greatest ❤ antidepressant ever!!! One of my most fave vids was when you climbed a massive tree and slept up there. "Wild thang, you make my heart sing!" Good to see home depot hasn't changed it's PAWlicy 😂 Little Rodney is gorgeous and besotted with you! Who wouldn't be, you are heaps of fun!! On a more serious note, my cat used to have patches of hair loss on his head. I popped into a vet for a quick chat at front desk and she said, make a weak tea like solution of Betadine liquid and water and with cotton wool dab it on the bald patches. It totally cleared up and never returned. Do it regularly. Just in a little cup add say a tsp of betadine, then just a bit of water to form a weak tea solution. Saturate cotton wool and dab on regularly, hopefully it's in a place he can't lick easily. Cortisone should be avoided if possible. The vet I saw agreed. Anyway beautiful woman, keep smiling😃 and keep cutting those carrots like a playboy bunny 😂 Stay safe and happy! Big squeezy hugs for our favourite boy Campy - my nickname for him. What an amazing friend you have in him. The magical still shots you have with you and Camp together are just awesome! I have never been to the USA, so it's been a joy to see your beautiful country through your eyes and armchair travel - well usually I'm horizontal 😂 See you Nik on the next one. These Emojis are a bit addictive ❤🎉❤🎉

@venettamacdonald4017 Hello Venetta, 👋 🇦🇺 Fellow Australian, I certainly do agree that Nikki has a warm heart and is a happiness magnet. Camper and Rodney are two of the luckiest dogs in the world to land themselves such a great caring human Mom! I also love the doggy welfare work Nikki does behind the scenes. Helping dogs find their forever families. Nikki is absolutely a very special woman indeed and that's why I subscribe to her channel! 🐕 🐶 ❤
Niki love your dogs, in doing so please refrain from letting Rodney from riding in your lap. A few years ago I saw a traffic accident when I came to help, I saw that the woman in the driver’s seat was okay, but the dog she had in her lap was killed (broken neck). The air bag had released and well it was tragic. Happy travels with your doggie family. 🥰🤗
@@katekaos honestly she can be a huge idiot sometimes, I definitely feel like Rodney was a mistake for her to adopt. she cut her available dog food supply in half by adding another mouth to feed, now has 2 dogs to look out for and Rodney doesn't even look like he wants to be there half the time. He's happiest moments are in the van comfy, he's a lap dog and deserves a nice big house. It honestly felt pretty selfish of her to adopt him considering her cramped conditions and lifestyle.
@@jakelesnake I’m sure he’s in better hands with her than wherever he was before. I think he was in that Utah shelter. But yes it’s hard to have bigger dogs in a van full-time. She gives them a lot of love but wish she was safer with them while driving and outside. There are a lot of predators and daytime attacks nowadays.
I used to have a lot of trouble with my nails. I would soak my toes in Epsom salt and then push pieces of cotton ball under the nail. The pressure would help raise the ingrown nail up.
We lived in Carson City for many, many years. We left 6 years ago and traveled in our RV full time. Found a place on the Oregon coast and settled here. It was good to see Reno. Haven't been there in 4 years. Just found you on UA-cam and will go back and look at your older ones. Thanks. Kathleen

I just posted my first video this week! So even tho our styles are actually very different, I thank yoy for the fantastic inspo! Your appreciation of life and adventure is awesome! Safe and happy travels!❤️✨️
My son’s dog started out losing hair, but got worse with from itching so badly, that he ended up with open wounds from licking. After lots of meds and a bunch of testing they found out he has Lupus. Wishing your pup an answer to the mystery and quick healing.
Right after the vet scene at the beginning of your video, you open the slider to the van and there was a partial jug of Prestone- if this was antifreeze, don’t forget that dogs and cats are so attracted to that stuff and it can really harm them. Love you, the dogs and the videos!
I've experienced the hair loss several times with rescue and foster dogs. Every time, after ruling or other conditions from the vet, we turned to a grain and legume free diet. Often, a raw diet from the local meat market of liver, hearts, etc. have the fastest/best results.
I am not sure if it is the same thing or not, but I took in a rescue dachshund/beagle mix about 14 years ago and he had what the vet called heat spots all over his body. The spots were where the hair was falling out and were bald. But he constantly scratched at the spots. The vet felt it was due to his previous owners feeding him nothing but human food scraps, which is what they told me they had fed him. it took me about 6 months to get him on a good dog food, he hated it at first, then with a special bath shampoo within a year it was all cleared up. Wishing the best for your little guy Rodney! Super glad he found a great home!
Thank you, thank you for sharing the ingredients in your food. Ude can't wait to buy those same ingredients and try it out. My food gets so boring it's always nice to see someone else's recipes😊
Glad you liked Reno! Healthy tails is the best. Your adventures give me hope that the Sprinter View in my driveway will be our retirement chariot in the following months.
To reduce the incidence of disease for the dogs, as much as possible give them natural food as opposed to manufactured food and give the dogs enough exercise, then they don't fall sick frequently ❤❤
Seems to be a lot of want to be vets posting here, but did nobody notice the gallon of antifreeze next to the water dish? If the dogs lick the bottle that would be a whole new diagnosis for you want to be vets.
First thing I noticed when she opened her door. Of course I will never forget how dangerous that stuff is we had a neighbor that gave that to our dog during the night. He suffered a horrible death
Not trying to be a Karen, just some info. It is dangerous to let a dog sit on your lap while driving. In an accident they can be hurt by the steering wheel. Also a seat harness for the front seat for Camper could save him injury or worse. Although your s safe driver there are a lot who aren’t. Having worked for a Vet for many years I have seen dogs injured in even minor accidents. Your dogs are very fortunate to have a mom who cares so much about them and all dogs. Stay safe.❤
I temped for an ophthalmological vet for one week. She removed 2 to 3 eyes a day from numerous dogs whose owners let them ride with their heads out of the car window, because "they LOVE the wind!" These owners shouldn't be allowed to have pets - they are criminally irresponsible.
What a Debbie Downer. Looks like Nikki does well on her own, and she already has a mother. I doubt you could do as well as her on the road. Nikki you rock!
Nikki is there no water stores around you could fill up big gallons for pretty cheap. Thank you for all your inspiration and the time and energy you put in your channel. I always watch band wives too so happy you guys are friends and you enjoyed your times together
@@NikkiDelventhal the wake up scene is giving “reality tv show wake up after the camera crew gets there and makeup is done”. Haha. Which is honestly what you need next (your own reality show)! We will watch wherever your life takes you. People watch for you, not just because you live in a van.
Nicki please do not drive with your dog on your lap, if you are in an accident your dog will not survive, either from the airbag or when you are thrown forward. As a retired volunteer FF I have seen this happen. Broke my heart.

trucker here... they sometimes have non-potable water at the truck stop diesel pumps that they use for windshield washing and topping off your radiator.. the downside is there's no hose (just a spigot) so you may need some kind of jug or jerrycan that fits into the water inlet on your van

I think it’s absolutely ridiculous to have a dog on your lap when driving! I thought it was illegal?!
I temped for an ophthalmological vet for one week. She removed 2 to 3 eyes a day from numerous dogs whose owners let them ride with their heads out of the car window, because "they LOVE the wind!" These owners shouldn't be allowed to have pets - they are criminally irresponsible.
@@pattijacobs8961what actually causes the eye damage? Is that foreign objects or is it the wind itself ?
@@pattijacobs8961 so sad! 😞
What a Debbie Downer. Looks like Nikki does well on her own, and she already has a mother. I doubt you could do as well as her on the road. Nikki you rock!
I really appreciate this one because I seen how to make the best of everything. Thank you
Please be careful with the anti-freeze I saw on your floor, It has a sweet taste and can be harmful to dogs if ingested.
Thank you for the heads up, I had no idea!
We had a German Shepard pass away from accidentally drinking anti freeze on the garage floor. It is highly toxic and deadly. 😢
Nikki is there no water stores around you could fill up big gallons for pretty cheap. Thank you for all your inspiration and the time and energy you put in your channel. I always watch band wives too so happy you guys are friends and you enjoyed your times together
Should you be driving after that Swig of Moonshine, lol.
😂
Let pretend i slept in the camper after picking up dogs from the boyfriends house. Lol. Cute! Love yr videos btw.
Hehe! Thank you! Gotta keep it PC for the kids!
@@NikkiDelventhal the wake up scene is giving “reality tv show wake up after the camera crew gets there and makeup is done”. Haha. Which is honestly what you need next (your own reality show)! We will watch wherever your life takes you. People watch for you, not just because you live in a van.
The salad looks delish, I’ll be making it for lunch tomorrow. Be safe be kind. Love your mission and perseverance ❤️💜💕
Aint no way you slept in your van at your boyfriend's house 😂
I actually enjoy these videos the best, it's interesting to see how you navigate everyday life on the road.
Nicki please do not drive with your dog on your lap, if you are in an accident your dog will not survive, either from the airbag or when you are thrown forward. As a retired volunteer FF I have seen this happen. Broke my heart.
I always look forward to your videos on Friday I just love to see where you’re at and what you’re doing thanks for all the good adventures and all the good times you have given me
Your choice but its not very safe for you, your dog or other drivers to drive with your dog on your lap, hope youll give this some thought.
When I was kid back in the day I rode on my dads lap when he drove! People are too sensitive now
Lovely to see you back with your fur babies. Camper is such a good dog and he will show Rodney the do's and don'ts. Hope the medication helps Rodney's problem and hope the Epsom salts helps your toe x
You are driving dangerous with that dog in your lap plus it against the law
Really? Untie your tidy whities
Remove the stick from your butt
It's just white girl influencer BS anyway.
I don't know why but one of my favourite things ever is so see dogs covered in other dogs hair. it's like... so satisfying haha
Hi Nikki love. When Camper talks. So funny ❤😊
I had one dog with Cushing and another with autoimmune. Prayers for your puppy.❤❤❤
Love the stay at Reno! I always stayed at Casino parking lots after I was kicked out of the Walmart! I love a little rainy day down time too. Love your vlogs. Can't wait for more! Stay safe!❤
Love your advice and stories Nikki! Thank you! I bought a well maintained 1984 Ram 1500 camper conversion last fall and can't wait to do some road stuff this coming season, in large part due to your inspiration!
That 2 seconds from when u push the start button on the rv to when it actually starts, is always an anxious moment in every episode for me..Haha.
Love watching your adventures every week- the time and effort you put into editing and getting the footage really shows!
I like the new gymnastics in the intro. Good going. Thank you Nikki D
I really really enjoy your videos
When I watch your videos I always feel so good inside I feel like I'm right there with you as you travel
Hi, for bug bites tea tree oil stop some of the itching and helps heal. Get some at the Walgreen, It has cooling itch stop effect. Take Care Debbie
I'm always glad to see new videos of You, Camper and Rodney thanks Nikki.
🖤🇺🇲🐶🐶🇺🇲🖤
trucker here... they sometimes have non-potable water at the truck stop diesel pumps that they use for windshield washing and topping off your radiator.. the downside is there's no hose (just a spigot) so you may need some kind of jug or jerrycan that fits into the water inlet on your van
Hey Nikki! I accidentally discovered your channel! I said “I’ve seen this girl”…I saw you outside your vehicle (it was a pretty cool van/rig)…at a rest stop in either Arizona or New Mexico over a year ago or so in the evening! I’m a truck driver!
❤
Rodney is so cute, he seems like such a gentle soul! Camper, is just a fine dog, Who has the best human taste since he picked you for his mom. Nikki I cannot tell you how I look forward to my Friday nights watching your videos. I have been following you for a long time and I really enjoy everything that you do. Continue doing it for me please!!
Nikki it was a pleasure seeing you in person yesterday at Walmart Port St Lucie, FL. At that moment, I know it was you. I missed the opputunity to say hello 😆

Thanks for sharing. The kids were so happy to c U Nikki ( the pups ) Safe Travels Always God Bless Ya'll Mucho Love from your friend in Michigan Tam ❤️ ♥️ 💕 💖
It's rechargeable but it holds a charge up to a year or like 60 uses plus it has ports to charge all your other devices from the battery pack if you need to. They're around $50 and one of the most convenient things that I've ever had in my car. I've also been able to help other people who were stranded. Just FYI
I love how they grab their snack. So cute babies.😊❤

At the truck stops in the medicine sections they have sting relief. It works so good for bug bites of any kind. It’s kinda a rub on stick thing.
Love your box salad! Good ingredients.
