I thought this was going to be some Google Earth / AI quick fix but it's just a classic modeling tutorial. Nice.

Same, I'm glad this actually taught some useful skills instead of just shoving a picture into AI and learning nothing

To save time on opening the Calculator, you can type "5*24" in the end frame and it'll do the math for you. Learning this has made so many things faster.

You can also change the timeline to show seconds instead of frames by hitting ctrl + T

Lots of interesting techniques in this one. I liked the knife-cut hint there to reduce the geometry.

Amazing! Very nice tutorial, I did not know that!
12:45 You can also press ctrl+t in the Timeline to switch between time and frames. So you won't need to calculate it 👍

Also, any number input box in Blender will do math for you (* for multiply, ** for exponent, / for division, parentheses are valid) thanks to Python.
Turn on _Preferences->Input->Keyboard->Default to Advanced Numeric Input._ I don't know why they made that an option that's off by default.🤷

It's worth noting that you can import multiple fspy files to get multiple angles for more accurate models, but in order to get real dimensional accuracy, you need ground shots to establish relative distance between buildings, and not estimate based on apparent size. A singular image may lead to a "tiny people in the hand" optical illusion. Thanks for the tutorial.

It's a very cool effect, but it does require a lot more work to look realistic.
The final shot for example only works because of the heavy fog, otherwise it would've been obvious there is no depth in the background.
I would've loved to see how you would've gone about that.

Thanks. This explains much better the use of f=spy. But I can't for the life of me understand how to set up vanishing points for a photo simply taken from the ground level.

alt + lmb is not working to select all edges (Blender 4) !
shift, right mouse button etc. is also not working! select edge loop is not working (only edge rings).
i don´t have "3 button mouse" selected in input preferences.

so there's no free ebook on your site, there's a *Sample* of your book if i hand over my email address, and that doesn't even cover the topic in this video. So i would actually have to buy your book to follow alone with this tutorial

    • @BlenderSecrets
      @BlenderSecrets  10 місяців тому

This topic is from the full ebook, yes. And there is a free 30 page book as well.
