Amazing to see another part of the world . Sorry you didn't get to the beach, I would have loved to have seen it . Is their summer heat like ours ? Thanks for sharing.
I’m so mad that with the thousands of people visiting that port it was very difficult to do anything. Woody & I have talked about going back and staying in Greece for a few days. I would say the heat was just like ours, perhaps a slight bit hotter because the highest the temperature got was around 80 but it felt like 90… lol
Hi! If I can remember correctly we arrived at the port around 7am and the departure was at 6pm. A few things I would do differently is already have your plans together for that port and be up and ready to leave as soon as the ship arrives. We didn’t get off the ship until around 10am and by the time we made it up the mountain (the port is surrounded by a huge hillside) it was about 12pm. To get up the mountain you can take a trolley or ride a donkey. Both Greece ports have about 3 ships that docked each day so navigating your way is just like being in Times Square in NY lol. I was not riding a donkey so we waited for the trolley which was an hour wait going up and an hour and 30 min waiting to go back down smh. Once you get to the top you can rent a car or motorbike. The popular beaches are 40mins to an hour away so you need to secure transportation asap because the rentals near the port went quickly. With us by the time we got to the rental agency and factored in the commute to and back from the beach plus the time needed to make it down the trolley it wasn’t worth going too far from the port. Hope this helps you and enjoy your time!
This is sooo helpful!! Thank you for all the good info!! Did you have to deboard in a certain order, or could you just go down as soon as the ship docked at the port? And then were there taxis available?
Hi.. the tender is automatically included in your cruise ticket price as a part of the taxes and fees. This is common because when the sea level at your port stop isn't deep enough for the boat to come to shore, the tender is the only way to get off the boat to experience the port stop.
It took us about an hour and a half to go down. This was because there were about 3 ships that docked there so it was like being in New York City. If you are going to Santorini on a cruise I recommend getting off the boat as soon as you are able so that you can have more time to actually see it instead of spending about 3 hours (1.5 hrs each way) just getting to and from the cruise dock.
Another day and a wonderful tour that you giving to those of us to see
Wow !!This is Amazing
Glad you enjoyed it 💗

Yes! The experience of seeing this beautiful site was breathtaking! ✨
Hello!! How much time did you have at this port?
And what would you suggest for making sure we are able to fully explore? We are going in August!

You knew what he was talking about, you just didn’t want your business on these internet streets. 😂❤😂
🤣🤣🤣
Did you try any Greek food?
Shay J believ it or not.. I’ve eaten more Greek foods here in the states, then I did on my trip to Greece 😆
Is the boat from cruise ship to land free?

Woody is so crazy lol 😂
