    Nice I like how Honda used the same engines for bikes and 3wheelers. Reliable

    I love this video and old Hondas even back in 74 the fit and finish on Hondas was spot on.

    I had one of these when I was 14. Absolutely loved this bike. I would love to have one again. I'm 55 now.

    Don't know if you will see my comments but here goes anyway. I grew up on this very motorcycle. My dad bought it for me in 1974. We lived on a farm at that time. When I came home from school riding my motorcycle was my way of getting rid of stress. Lots of memories flooding back to me as I viewed your video. Beautiful restoration.

      Same here, I got a 79 XL 185s to ride to Hi-school and back after Foot ball wrestling and weight lifting practice by that time in the afternoon my step dad would be to drunk to come pick me up so we got me the bike, funny right?

    Nice Job. The exhaust pipe is in amazing condition. That's the hardest part to replace. Just finishing up mine. Your video helped me a great deal. Thanks for the post!

    Your being modest you replaced every nut and bolt and the wiring harness.
    I hope you hang on to this one, after all the TLC you put into it it is a lovely bike......

      @@pilotpure How did you get the carb so clean?

    • @pilotpure
      @pilotpure  3 роки тому

      @@unclequack5445 A great way to clean a carb is take it apart and then put it in an ultrasonic cleaner. If you don't have one then soaking it in Evapo-Rust also works well.

    What about the motor mount bolts and nuts they looked new? I find myself coming back to this video, I like bike's a lot. Been riding since 7 yo. My 1st Bike? 72 Honda CT 70 4 stroke. Good job making your own air filter !

      Mount bolts and nuts were just cleaned. The engine mounting plates were removed, sanded and painted.
