Lincoln, pay attention to the area where each material is added. Try to make everything the correct size. Fly tiers practice their craft for a long time before they're considered "Good fly tiers". Some people learn quicker than others, but it is rare. Some people are good at dry flies, but not very good at streamers, wet flies or nymphs. Choose one fly pattern and tie a couple hundred in different colors. (You can keep them for yourself, sell them or give them away as gifts.) High repetition will sharpen your skills! Good luck! Stay focused!

Practice, practice, then add some more practice. Stick with it and you will succeed. Take your time, keep your patience and you will be greatly rewarded with new found knowledge.
