If a barbed hook does get stuck in the back of your head. First get the person who is snagged up with your head to stop trying to yank the fly out. Best way to remove the hook with minimal damage. Picture the hook as it is in a vice use a length of strong line, a bootlace or the ideal choice is, just over the location the hook is stuck put your fly line in the gap just in front of the hook bend. Fold it back either yourself or a friend grips the line and or bend of the hook. With your other hand press downwards between forwards of the bend and the eye of the hook. Then a firm pull will remove the hook. Pressing down on the hook helps prevent either point or hook barb causing more damage during removal. Obviously only remove if safe to do so from say head, arm, leg or hand if close to eye, or a blood vessel then cut the leader and wait for a trained medic to remove the hook
Nice looking classic, thank you. I know I speak for many others when I say that I am concerned that you aren't trying hard enough to use every item on earth to install the hooks into the vise. Furthermore, we, as a group will get bent out of shape if you ever stop doing that.
TBH I don’t watch your stuff to see how you mount the hook. Enjoy watching you tie. 🤷🏼♂️ TBH, wish you would include warm water flies because I live South of the trout line. No matter, enjoy watching your thread control.
Looks so cool
Really beautiful fly!!! So clean!!!
Almost spit out my coffee on the second brain scratch 😂
I use only barbless mostly but when I know I’m casting far I use barbs, am I the only one?
