Good it's being documented. It is something we knew. By the time we were in the know certain foods become addictive. So, people struggle or battle to change habits.

    A bizarre preachment (part 1)
The parents of the young lecturer MD Rupa Marya emigrated from India (Punjab) to a ‘colonized’ country, called ‘The turtle island’, today USA, for a better life. Unfortunately ‘Turtle Island’ (as native Americans called USA), is inhabited by ‘privileged-white-male-supremacists’, a execrable race of colonizing wrongdoers responsible for many evils on this planet, like slavery, genocides, illnesses, imperialism, exploitation, misogyny, child abuse, femicide, domestic violence and witch burning.
This bizarre and unsettled lecture is introduced to the audience by Mrs. Cat Brooks, Executive Director of Justice Teams Network with the number of killed people by the US police, most black citizen. With her usual ceremonial introduction to the due lecture the audience is instructed to recite like a mantra the names of several victims of police violence Mrs. Brooks recites, one by one. The mostly white and aged audience meekly echoes them like a religious prayer, one by one. A peculiar and disturbing ceremony, that sounds more like a scolding starter to the castigation to come than a eulogy for the victims.
Dr. Rupa’s lecture kick-starts with electoral campaign to appoint Mrs. Cat Brooks as future mayor of Oakland. After having reminded the audience anew of the just mentioned victims of police violence, the colonization of India by ‘Europeans’ and her mission to ‘decolonize’ medicine and save the world Dr. Rupa starts a short promotion for her own new musical CD.
The foreboding and prophetic Dr. Rupa turns now with a dazzling smile to the main topic of her campaign: an ill-concealed chastising diatribe against the ‘privileged-supremacist-white-male’, their ‘system’ (i.e. civilization) and all its crimes and wrongdoings addressing the mainly white and aged audience with astonishing disrespect and scorn. A moment of silence from the perplexed audience is followed by a soft murmur of timid discomfort. The self-confident disdainful medical doctor reacts and calls out “...its truuuuuue..!” as a warranty, that what she instructs is in fact the truth. The sermon she delivers from her pulpit is a disturbing tirade of epithets, recriminations and disrespect against the ‘privileged-white-male’ and its Western civilization. A civilization her immigrant parents “… with little money but plenty of cast privilege …” had chosen for a better life and where Dr. Rupa prospers and thrives.
An old saying goes: “Half a truth is a whole lie”
The recipe is always the same:
Embed factual ugly aspects of Western society into your ‘lecture’, like criminal behavior of the USA police, racism against colored people, unhealthy social structures and lifestyles as sources of illness, aggressive capitalism - all truly indisputable facts we westerners are well aware of - select and highlight these aspects, leaving out and sidelining inconvenient further but precious and honorable aspects of Western society, which would weaken and spoil the planned narrative and most of all don’t even mention despicable facts of your own culture of origin.
The dish is ready to be served, flavored with a big smile to be consumed by oblivious and docile diners in the audience. Saturated with self-contempt, loaded with ‘mea culpa’ and pre-softened by the scolding ceremonial intro-duction they suck it all up.
“A system which makes health impossible…”
Dr. Rupa ‘discovers’ and blames the West for its unhealthy agenda and system, which is the cause of many illnesses, all ‘scientifically’ displayed with diagrams and layouts on the screen. Sadly her quest and sensitivity for justice and public health doesn’t seem to be stimulated by far worse health issues of other systems, like the many wretched people who die in the streets of the Indian continent, the many crippled and deaths from tuberculosis, from polio, parasitosis, infectious diseases, from hunger; the high child mortality, the high maternity peripartum mortality, poor hygiene, polluted air and water of the 'system' of this continent where life expectancy is 70 years.
I presume that Dr. Rupa studied medicine on the ‘’colonized Turtle Island’ (i.e. USA), which is part of Western civilization of ‘white-supremacists’, the “system, which makes health impossible”. Her Modern Model of Disease - vaccine, germ theory and antibiotics, hygiene - is mentioned in a historical context, it would have been nice to hear that these skills were developed in the same “system that makes health impossible” but made quite a lot of health possible together with immunotherapy, anesthetics, antiviral drugs, nuclear medicine, scintigraphy, radiology, tomography, magnetic resonance, sonography, radiotherapy, advanced therapies in oncology (stem cell therapy), gene therapy, blood transfusions, advanced techniques in surgery, implants and organ transplants, dialysis, neonatology, perinatology, artificial intelligence and robots in Medicine and more, but this I assume doesn’t fit verry well in the narrative.
The calamitous effects of a “system-which-makes-health-impossible” that Dr. Rupa is presenting with passion as a revolutionary discovery to be challenged and healed by ‘decolonizing medicine’ is nothing else than the renowned and outstanding medical branch Social Medicine and Community Health, that was initiated, developed and applied in 1848 by two great, alas ‘white supremacist’: Dr. J. Guerin in France and Prof. R. Virchow in Germany, who coined the aphorism: "Medicine is a social science, and politics is nothing else but medicine on a large scale".
“… when European were burning witches …”
I presume the lecturer knows that since 510 BC (not AD!) widows in India were burned on the stake of their dead husbands (the ‘Sati’ custom), a still surviving tradition in rural India with 60 documented events since 1950, probably among further undetected occurrences. A well documented episode is the ‘Sati’ of the eighteen years old Roop Kanwa in 1987 near the village of Deorala in Rajastan. And the lecturer is blaming the white ‘privileged-supremacist-imperialist’ race for two centuries of witch burning almost 500 years ago?? By the way, the horrible tradition of Sati, was finally made illegal by the ‘privileged-supremacist-racist' white colonizer.
“ …. male supremacy which leads to the invisibilizing of women’s labor work ….
    Suppressing our wages ….”
Does Dr. Rupa know where the Women’s Rights Movement started??
Has the lecturer ever asked herself what the average salary for women in the Indian subcontinent and elsewhere outside Europe amounts to (if there is any at all)?
Is she unhappy with her own salary??
“ ..white supremacist which created a framework that legitimized slavery and genocide …”
We are instructed, that slavery and genocide is the product of the West, something ‘white supremacist’ not only legitimized, but to add evil to evil even prepared a framework for these crimes.
At this point I can only question the erudition of Dr. Rupa. If she has any knowledge of world history even with a limited understanding and cognition she should be able to realize, that slavery and genocides is a ‘patrimony’ of all humanity. It is a human flaw and criminal behaviour, not only and exclusively the perversion of ‘white supremacists’. I would like to encourage Dr. Rupa to broaden her view and study world history: Genocide under Mao-Tse-Tung (‘great leap forward’ 1958 - 1962); the genocide of the Japanese-Chinese war 1937-1945; the Armenian genocide in Turkey (1915-1916); the killing fields in Cambogia under Pol Pot (1975-1979); Rwandan genocide 1994; The killings in North Korea; Partition of India 1947 with genocides of Sikhs, Muslims and Hindus; the Bangladesh genocide 1971 by Eastern Pakistan (only to mention the recent history) and many, many more. All over the planet, all of human history is permeated with migration, conquests, colonization, genocides, exploitation, wars and slavery, but mutual cultural exchange as well. It’s all written in documents and history books
