Sink/Shower/Floor waste should never be connected to the toilet waste pipe inside the bathroom area due to the possibility of toilet back flow!!
In the rest of the world its connected though. I'm just about to make my plumbing and Im thinking about what to do.... My plumber tells the same as you, though, to make it seperate so I think I will do that.. (btw I live in Siliguri, West Bengal, but Im Norwegian)

How do you hide the pipes from exterior walls ?

the architect has to solve this issue, mostly they keep it outside because of easier maintenance, if we want to hide it then, we need to make a shaft inside of the house, through this shaft all pipes will go, so in the exterior no pipes.
Ducts are made and then they are covered by grill from outside elevation
