Hey mate - I just want to say your videos are amazing. I'm currently working as an Accountant but took an interest in learning Excel coding just a month ago. I'm hoping when I get to the more advanced levels I can incorporate macro knowledge into my work. Also, how long does it take to get very proficient with macros?

    Dear friend,
I hope you could help me to create an excel sheet that helps me in my job as a Claims Assessor in an Insurance industry. We don’t have good system at the moment to monitor and follow up each claim and we are doing it manually setting up a reminder or printing a lot of papers. Having hundreds of claims submitted each month and you need to track them one by one when you need them to follow up create too much time.
I need an excel sheet that you can change or move the dates into future or backward then it will automatically hide in my current task so I can focus only to task assigned to present date. Just clicking a button to move the dates for each claim. And When the task that was moved reach the day you set, it will show only the claims that you set for present.
    The column which normally needed:
    1. No. (1,2,3,....)
    2. Claim number (divided into reimbursement, direct billing, and pre-authorization)
    3. Name of patient
    4. Date of birth ( automatically calculate the age)
    5. Member ID:
    6. Hospital name
    7. Diagnosis
    8. Country/location
    9. Date of service
    10. Claim received date
    11. Claims status (open, close, decline, re-open)
    12. Pending or to do task ( that I can write a note then move the dates anytime to follow up.
    I do appreciate your help!
    Best regards,
    JR

When I follow the exact steps laid out up until time 7:46 of the video, Excel won't run the macro due to the comment "Can't execute code in break mode"

    • @JGilson1980
      @JGilson1980 5 років тому +1

If you press F5 or select the Square button (Stop), visible in his video just under "run" at the top, it will remove that break. The break usually happens because there was an error or you are running the "Debug". If you have an error in your code, you will have to fix that before being able to move on. Hope this helps.

As the default property for cells is value, there should be no reason to use .value in your code.

    Accidentally wrote:
    Sheets("sheet1").Range("E6").Value = Sheets("Sheet2").Range("A2").Value = Sheets("Sheet2").Range("A2").Value
And kept getting TRUE, got to watch for duplication.
