  • I kinda' fell in love with this game.
Warning, these videos present MASSIVE spoilers for the puzzles and progression that you find in these levels, if you haven't played TRA, I would highly recommend not spoiling things! The puzzle solving is the best part about this game, and far and away what makes it so good.
I accidentally knocked my battery pack a bit loose at one point, oops lol.
If you're wondering why I use shotgun so much in my play btw, it's because I don't like the adrenaline dodge mechanic too much, and shotgun or Uzi seem like they trigger it less frequently than your basic pistols.
I uploaded this game into 5 parts partly so I didn't have to marathon the whole thing, but also to ensure I could upload the highest quality possible.
I think Xbox 360 might be one of the best versions, but honestly all of them are surprisingly good in my sampling. Not everything here in x360 renders 100% correctly, but it's overall a well put together port.
You will notice the resolution might look a bit lower than would be typical for Xbox 360, and that's because I opted to set the console to 480p mode (widescreen).
In this output mode, the game renders at 640x480 resolution (anamorphic), with 2x MSAA, which helps keep the performance very consistent, and it's the way I prefer to play.
Using any higher output resolution makes the internal render higher, and the performance hurts as a result.
One disadvantage to this is that heat/humidity haze effects are extremely heavy; that effect was likely only made for the higher resolution where it's already pretty heavy, but at this lower resolution it's really intense! Ultimately, it isn't enabled so persistently in the game that I see this as a huge problem.
If you are curious, I have sampled the PS3 version, and I think that has a lot more flaws than people tend to suggest on the internet--I think it looks and sounds worse than x360, but it's still an alright way to play.
Hopefully the performance is better on an Xbox One or Series console at high resolutions, although I do wonder if this game's assets would look all that great at high resolutions.
Btw, this audio has Dolby Pro Logic II encoding baked into it, and it sounds like it's working in my testing, so if you play this over a surround sound system, you might get the impression of surround.
