What an awesome getaway. Maybe chilly at the time, but what a nice place to retire to when you're cooking that trout. Looked delicious. Had to be an enjoyable evening with friends.
Nice trip! I have always figured that fish finder manufacturers also own a portion of fishing tackle companies too. Therefore they program fish into the software of the fish finder to convince you that you simply don't have the right lure, and then we all rush out and buy more tackle. While all along there was never a fish below the boat anyways.....
Nice to see you have a little bit of fun outside of working on the boat. They were nice trout. Happy holidays to you and yours, and may Santa bring you something good for Christmas.
That looked like a well deserved break...and that steve guy is a hoot! and nice to see that frost on the seat, little wake up call. Youll have to someday share the way you cook your yabbies. A friend told me to put them in a pot with a bunch of rocks, in the oven at 400 for 4 hours, take the pot out, toss the yabbies and eat the rocks! Nice spot and thanks again for sharing!
Always good to get away, relax, and unwind. Fishing is the greatest way to just have fun with friends or by yourself, whether you catch anything or not!
Stu, tell him to make his own Yabi traps next time. We take aluminium bicycle wheels. Strip the spokes and hubs and then attach net with zip ties. If you put straight sides like we do they work great for crabs. If you taper the sides in they work the same as his, which isn't saying much considering how many bugs you guys caught. LOL They take 20 minutes to make and cost next to nothing or free if you're a good scrounger.
Our name(s) for what Aussie's call a Yabby; Crayfish, Crawfish, crawdaddy, crawdad, mudbug. They make fine dinning if you catch enough of them. I SAW THOSE BANANA's! ;o) Glad you got to Just Fish for a few days, looked like fun.
Wow, trout fishing down under is just like fishing in the US of A. At least the results are pretty much the same (for me). BTW: I have stopped using a fishfinder. When I don't know if any fish are there and I get no bites, I can say it is their fault for being somewhere else. But when I know there are fish under me and get no bites, I am forced to admit it is my fault.
Not Sure where ya from but down under fish seem to work with the weather,,Some fish like low barrometer and others like it high,,Has some thing to do with swim bladder and air pressure on water,,seems at low pressure they spew up most of their gut content and get hungry,,and high this seem to make them hungry as well,, have fished all day and not a bite,,then a storm rolls in and wham fish every where,Umm should say this is mostly fresh water theory,,More moon in salt..
Hey, Great show tonight, Steve’s a witty funny character, I’m a big fan of his channel too, vintage restorations Australia. But never seen him like that, I get the feeling all of the stuff he’s ordered for the old land rover electric conversion is going to turn up all at the same time, should be good viewing.
Awesome trip Stu, I really am bummed out, I love fishing for trout. Winter is just starting here, just winterized my boat last week. The Invader won’t be on the water until April. Cold dark and dreary, life in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. At least the snow is getting deep up in the mountains, looking like a good ski season.
Hey Stu. It must be an Australian thing but I just spent a weekend away in the highlands of Tasmania. The banter and mate ship was a carbon copy of your trip. Great to be an Aussie with good mate. Loved the Vid. Dale from Tas.
Ah, this makes sense, few years back my Great Uncle Cosmo had this mate called Dickie who used to talk about that place all the time, never really put it together, but now it makes sense, he'd get in boilling barnies with Cosmo yelling things like 'Me Jinda's fluid!' which now is obvious, of course the Jinda's fluid, mate, it's a lake, it's mostly bleedin' water. Is there two lakes there, though, cos he'd often mention the sis Jinda so now I figure there must be two of them, right? Haven't seen Dickie around in a while, seemed Great Uncle Cosmo had a falling out. Seem to recall it was something about a guy named Norman Teague? Tease? Teeve? Something like that, who lived on Hat Row. Funny, I can remember that cos Dickie kept shouting it, but the rest of it's a bit fuzzy. That was deep in the Malibu and Lilt years, of course. Dark times.
I wouldn’t have thrown that yabbie back. It was worth $55 bucks LMaO 😂. Nice little weekend away mate and broke your piscatorial virginity for the channel 👍 just missing the hydration on the boat cheers buddy
Steve is a crack up, be a huge amount of fun fishing with Steve.
It was a fun few days.
Thanks for taking us along. Looks beautiful down there
An absolutely delightful character.
He is pretty funny. Shame he lives so far away, used to live on Dangar near me. :(
Thanks for the fishing trip, we enjoyed that. 🍀
Love the strategic placement of the bananas.
What an awesome getaway. Maybe chilly at the time, but what a nice place to retire to when you're cooking that trout. Looked delicious. Had to be an enjoyable evening with friends.
It was, a really nice fish to eat, particularly with friends. :)
Canadian made "Scotty" Downriggers. Love it!
I'm pleased to see that my mate and I aren't the only chooks breakfast in a boat. Great stuff
Great break from working on the boat!!! Glad you enjoyed the trip!!!
Such a fantastic spot. Heading there this weekend, praying for a good few fish.

What's up with those bananas. Congratulation on the fish 🎉👍🏾
I for one am happy you caught a Yabbie, because now I know what a yabbie is!
They're called crawfish around here, but we pronounce it craw-daddy.
I was wondering myself!
Sometimes called mud bugs, lol
Nice cool change of pace. Great video bud.

Looked like you'all had a fun trip, Good show, Jeff in LA USA
Thanks, Stu for the fishing trip, I enjoyed that from Northern CALIFORNIA.USA
So, there are fish in the water down there!. Enjoyed the trip out, very nice area.

Great vid Stu. Love fishing at Jindi makes me want to get back out there.
Good looking fish tastey too I bet great content
I don't know why but every video or movie I see from Australia reminds me of the 1970's in the USA. The good ol' days!
Nice work on the vid Stu, it was a fun hang despite slow fishing. Intresting that no beers featured, I saw a few get drunked....
Only a few. ;)
That looked like a lot of fun...Thanks stu😊👍
I have a couple of the Tasmanian devil lures love em they work great!
Miss trout fishing down there
Haha, shorts in freezing weather. Hope you drank some antifreeze😁. Anyway nice brown trout and the cooking made me hungry
Paravanes are best for trolling for salt water fish. Love the videos, Stu, keep them coming. 👍
Thanks mate.

Amazing part of the world easy to relax...cold in Summer and in ❄️!!,
Loved the Fishing trip, thanks, wanted more fish..........
Cool vid Stu, might not get the views of your boat but it’s interesting to watch for those of us in warmer climates up north
Stu, you are a hoot.
Can't beat a bit of fish, had a bit the other day whilst I was out trawling
Yamaha 25hp CV, I used to have one of those outboards on my last boat, it was an awesome engine, extremely reliable.
Nice video thank you, Steve in Thailand.
Great trip had by all. I was shocked to see so much ice on the windshield and seats. Never thought it got that cold in Australia.
Might help to set up the Yabbie trap correctly, Robbies fishing uses them well. Check them more often too.
Thought we were into a remake of The Castle for a mo ... was waitin expectantly for the crackle of the bug zapper.
How's the serenity!
Hey, Great show tonight,

Steve told me he keeps his channel more of a professional persona. I wish he wouldn't!
That’s exactly what I was inferring, with the hope he reads it.
Was trying to be subtle.
Stu, you gotta leave the bananas at home! And definitely don't have them on the trawler! 😂😂😂😂

STILL BRINGING BANANAS ON BOATS?!
Love bananas,, Im not into old wives tales ,, haha
Lake of fish could be the presence of bananas just a thought
I bring them too. Great snack and some people really freak out.
I'm yet to have a representative sample size. ;)
More Steve!
Biggest Brown Ive ever seen, Thumper!
Looked Rancho Relaxo.
Great show DM, Unreal.
Thanks Jono!
Ah, some familiar views. We're over the other side at Talbingo. That sort of fish makes awesome gravlax.
You are right about chilling out the temperature is too cold for us northerners. If its not above 20c it's cold. Nice video.
Thanks for this one Stu 04:30????? too early for me lol rather be drinking a hot mug of tea. Glad to see you taking a break from the trawler.
Now I'm hungry for fish and yabby.... thanks for sharing

...also the lure depth weight is a great idea that I will try.
OH NO!!!! Bannanas on board!!!
Turning into a cooking show there at the end. Anything for some good fish.
