These quick videos are great, thanks! I do wish you'd include even a very quick shot of someone actually _wearing_ each pack you review. I personally find that really helpful.
Hey godfatherNYC - currently these videos are the quickest way we can get these new products to you as soon as we get them so that you can check them out and so that we can share our thoughts with you too. However, I'll pass your feedback onto the team! We do get how important it is to see the product on a person, so for more usage shots in the wild, we recommend checking out the videos on our main channel and taking a look at the images in our full written reviews packhacker.com/travel-gear/ Hope this helps, and thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! - Rebecca
They should have designed it to be worn on left or right shoulder because after a while u might get tired of wearing it on one shoulder and be able to switch it to other shoulder to give one shoulder a break and another feature should have been to make it expand a few more inches
so you got this atom sling AND the ultralight black hole sling? you're my idol. you mentioned the black hole is the upgrade, but this seems to have more features. it has the straps on the pack, straps on the shoulder straps, and a zipper on the shoulder strap compartment. it just doesn't pack/fold into itself. am i missing something? thanks for the reviews/comments.
I spend WAY too much time, attention and energy shopping for EDC gear. With that said, the Atom is the best of class IMHO. It fits an ipad, phone, headphones, and various other etc essentials. Very light and well made. Looks masculine in darker colors so it avoids the Murse Curse.
@ 3:15 the small strap pocket is great for... Chapstick Mask😷 Leatherman multitool with a bit kit and bit extender Any pocket knife Sunscreen Hand sanitizer Hand lotion Snack bar Spare magazine Wireless headphones Maybe you guys should be called the packslackers😜 ye hath no creativity!
I was a bit dissapointed at the store because it didn't fit a phone on the front but I now put the public transport card in that pocket. Also, it doesn't fit big water bottles (or thermos) so I clipped a carabiner to fit a small water bottle. For me it was all about freeing my jeans or pants and get "extra pockets". If it's too heavy it won't be comfortable but if it's not you barely notice it's there and it's not sweaty at all. I just wish the small pocket was bigger
I like this. I’ve been looking for a replacement sling and this seems to check most of the boxes. I currently have the Thule GoPro sling that’s been discontinued, but it doesn’t quite meet all of my needs
Hey Curtis - thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! Let us know if you decide to pick this sling up, we'd love to hear if it works for you. 🙌😊 - Rebecca
Pack Hacker Quick Hits I went ahead an purchased the bag. I like the size and really enjoy the straps on the exterior. I wish the strap pocket was a little larger for my monster phone, but I’m sure I’ll find a good use for it. I got the all black bag and it fits well with my larger Thule camera bag. It feels solid and I can’t wait to get some use out of it
Thanks for updating us, Curtis! We get what you're saying, that quick grab pocket is a challenge if you want to fit a larger phone in there. But, we're glad to hear that the bag fits you well and that you're digging some of the features. 😊 - Rebecca
i love this bag but I had surgery to my right shoulder and this gets too uncomfortable to wear, I wish they made it able to switch sides likes the osprey sling.
Hey Stormbrise! We just tested this out with the 6th Gen 9.6" iPad and it fits in comfortably. You would also be able to fit a Kindle in here too. Hope this helps! - Rebecca
Anatomically it doesn't work for me. Patagonia does not do dimensions that work for larger people. The bag would always cinch towards my neck. I ordered their smaller black hole hip pack and it's a max hip size of 36 inches. It works for my hips but not my shoulders. Patagonia needs to do some ergonomics to go with their very good bags. If you are 5'3" to 6' and slim their products will likely be fine.
I really wish that it came in a left-handed version. I like the size and everything about it. It is exactly what i am looking for but, will not work for me. Let me know if they ever make one for all of us lefty people in the world. Nice review. Thanks
Hey Nadine - we're glad to hear that you're digging the review! And, we get what you're saying about a left-handed version, (fellow lefty over here 🙋) so we'll keep you updated if they make any changes! 😊👍 - Rebecca
Wanted to like it, iphone 14 even fit in the pouch thing, but that dang curve in the strap just sucks and something else isn’t quite right with the pack because it always rides down and then the silly curved strap is right up against my neck and collar bone. Get rid of the goofy curve and make it ambidextrous with zippers on both sides of everything. Until then, its the Osprey sling or Mystery Ranch Go Bag.
Hey there, the 8L Atom Sling has dimensions of 17" x 10" and the 12" iPad is 11.04” x 8.46” so this tablet should fit inside. However, just as a note, we cannot verify this 100% without being able to test it ourselves. You can also find the dimensions of this sling and other technical details over in our full review here: packhacker.com/travel-gear/patagonia/atom-sling/ Hope this helps! - Rebecca
I been having mine for about 4 years and still holding strong been on some crazy adventures with it love it!!
Thanks for watching! 😃

Oh I definitely watch the full reviews, too. Thanks!

For an asthmatic, the strap quick access pocket is perfect for inhalers!
Never thought of that, thanks for the info 👍🏻
One of my favorites, I got 2! The only upgrade was the Black Hole version with a different pocket setup and packable!
That's great, Paul. It sounds like you've got a solid collection going on there! 🙌👍
- Rebecca
@@PackHacker2 it's a serious problem. I have more bags than socks and underwear, and I don't even travel.
Welcome to the club, Paul! 😂😄🙌

Haha I'm looking for EDC gear too! Did you end up getting the Atom? Does it fit a water bladder?
Agree 100%!
@ 3:15 the small strap pocket is great for...
Chapstick
Mask😷
Leatherman multitool with a bit kit and bit extender
Any pocket knife
Sunscreen
Hand sanitizer
Hand lotion
Snack bar
Spare magazine
Wireless headphones
Maybe you guys should be called the packslackers😜 ye hath no creativity!
Yeah, lots of things, but it just seems to be there for a phone. I put my transport card there for quick access.

Cord cover too
hello curtis! thule has a sling nag like this! its also waterproof
i love this bag but I had surgery to my right shoulder and this gets too uncomfortable to wear, I wish they made it able to switch sides likes the osprey sling.
Thanks for the insight 😃 Is there a pack you are currently using that’s more comfortable?
-Eric
What size tablet?
Hey Stormbrise! We just tested this out with the 6th Gen 9.6" iPad and it fits in comfortably. You would also be able to fit a Kindle in here too. Hope this helps!

I’m wondering about the small size iPad Pro.
Hey - we don't have this iPad to verify 100%, but from checking the dimensions of the iPad Pro 11", it looks like it should fit. 👍
- Rebecca
Can confirm that the 11inch iPad Pro will fit, even with the Apple Pencil attached.
What about 12.9?
I like putting a little bottle of sunscreen and a tube of chapstick in the little front pocket

Left handed version, up it to 10L, add a drink sleeve and one more pocket, perfect.
Literally 😂 I would pay twice as much to fit my phone in the strap pocket and get it in blue/green
There's an Osprey one which allows you to switch the strap. You don't need a "left handed version".
@@franciscofuentes8916 the Osprey one is even smaller, though
An ipad 12.9 inch would fit inside?
i read on another comment that 12.9 would be too big
