They should have designed it to be worn on left or right shoulder because after a while u might get tired of wearing it on one shoulder and be able to switch it to other shoulder to give one shoulder a break and another feature should have been to make it expand a few more inches

so you got this atom sling AND the ultralight black hole sling?
      you're my idol.
you mentioned the black hole is the upgrade, but this seems to have more features.
it has the straps on the pack, straps on the shoulder straps, and a zipper on the shoulder strap compartment.
it just doesn't pack/fold into itself.
      am i missing something?
      thanks for the reviews/comments.

I spend WAY too much time, attention and energy shopping for EDC gear. With that said, the Atom is the best of class IMHO. It fits an ipad, phone, headphones, and various other etc essentials. Very light and well made. Looks masculine in darker colors so it avoids the Murse Curse.

Yeah, lots of things, but it just seems to be there for a phone. I put my transport card there for quick access.

  • @franciscofuentes8916

I was a bit dissapointed at the store because it didn't fit a phone on the front but I now put the public transport card in that pocket. Also, it doesn't fit big water bottles (or thermos) so I clipped a carabiner to fit a small water bottle. For me it was all about freeing my jeans or pants and get "extra pockets". If it's too heavy it won't be comfortable but if it's not you barely notice it's there and it's not sweaty at all. I just wish the small pocket was bigger

I like this. I’ve been looking for a replacement sling and this seems to check most of the boxes. I currently have the Thule GoPro sling that’s been discontinued, but it doesn’t quite meet all of my needs

Pack Hacker Quick Hits I went ahead an purchased the bag. I like the size and really enjoy the straps on the exterior. I wish the strap pocket was a little larger for my monster phone, but I’m sure I’ll find a good use for it. I got the all black bag and it fits well with my larger Thule camera bag. It feels solid and I can’t wait to get some use out of it

Thanks for updating us, Curtis! We get what you're saying, that quick grab pocket is a challenge if you want to fit a larger phone in there. But, we're glad to hear that the bag fits you well and that you're digging some of the features. 😊

Anatomically it doesn't work for me. Patagonia does not do dimensions that work for larger people. The bag would always cinch towards my neck. I ordered their smaller black hole hip pack and it's a max hip size of 36 inches. It works for my hips but not my shoulders. Patagonia needs to do some ergonomics to go with their very good bags. If you are 5'3" to 6' and slim their products will likely be fine.

I really wish that it came in a left-handed version. I like the size and everything about it. It is exactly what i am looking for but, will not work for me. Let me know if they ever make one for all of us lefty people in the world. Nice review. Thanks

Wanted to like it, iphone 14 even fit in the pouch thing, but that dang curve in the strap just sucks and something else isn’t quite right with the pack because it always rides down and then the silly curved strap is right up against my neck and collar bone.
Get rid of the goofy curve and make it ambidextrous with zippers on both sides of everything.
Until then, its the Osprey sling or Mystery Ranch Go Bag.

Can i fit a 12 in ipad in that?

    • @PackHacker2
      @PackHacker2  3 роки тому

Hey there, the 8L Atom Sling has dimensions of 17" x 10" and the 12" iPad is 11.04” x 8.46” so this tablet should fit inside. However, just as a note, we cannot verify this 100% without being able to test it ourselves.
You can also find the dimensions of this sling and other technical details over in our full review here: packhacker.com/travel-gear/patagonia/atom-sling/
      Hope this helps!
