    If the band members had the MX-Q on their phones ...
    Would this just control their in ears?
    Or will they be able to control front house as well??
    Don’t want them to be accidentally controlling front house speakers.

      You select which mixes they can control, but you can only choose one of the 16 busses, so no risk of them controlling FOH, even if they mess it up somehow :)

      Church Tech Talks
      16 busses?
      I have the XR18, I don’t think there’s that many busses on it.
      I think there’s only 6?
      So if that’s all they can control, then that would be awesome.
      So would I then need to use the mixing station app as well to control the front house ?

      @@RexyFan sorry I was referring to X32/M32 consoles with 16 busses. Yes you would need a separate app to control FOH mix.

      So MX-Q only controls their in ears/monitors
      And doesn’t affect the main LR
      Perfect !
      Thank you 😁

      @@RexyFan That's correct. They can only choose a monitor bus, and they only have basic controls, such as level. (If you want to change the bus EQ, compression, etc., that would have to be done by the full control app.) I use it to control my IEM mix from a XR18. In the MX-Q app, I only get level controls for the Aux bus, plus the ability to create my own MCA's as he showed for the Aux bus.

    I can’t hear Any audio coming out from the app. How do I fix that?

  • @newjerseyray
    @newjerseyray 3 роки тому

    Scott, does MX-Q app send an audio signal to the phone that can then be sent to the musician's in ear monitors? or is this just control data that is sent to the app?

    • @ChurchTechTalks
      @ChurchTechTalks  3 роки тому +3

      No. This is just to control a bus which can then be sent to either wireless receivers or a wired connection. WiFi and Bluetooth would both have too much latency to send audio.

  • @dadthegreat3076

    Hey Scott. So you know of a way to Bluetooth MX-Q to wireless headsets?

    • @ChurchTechTalks
      @ChurchTechTalks  3 роки тому +1

      The only way to really do it is to use MX-Q to control your bus mix, then have that bus mix feed a wireless transmitter.

    I had been using the M32-Q app (for my x32 console).
    I noticed that about 6 months ago the channels no longer have the names showing.
    Shall I start using this app instead?

    • @ChurchTechTalks
      @ChurchTechTalks  3 роки тому

      Ya, I believe development on that app ended when this one was released, but not positive.

    Will this app work with the Midas Pro2c console?

      Unfortunately, no. You should check out Mixtender 2 which I believe will allow you to control the Pro series consoles.

    Have a question for you man when I go on my
    App it doesn’t give me an option for panning

    • @ChurchTechTalks
      @ChurchTechTalks  3 роки тому

      You’re likely controlling a single bus. Panning requires the bus to be stereo linked.

      @@ChurchTechTalks alright also another question any tips for a drummers inear mix and bass player I’m having trouble getting them where I need them to be, at my church we switch off and the mix isn’t as good as I want it to be

    • @ChurchTechTalks
      @ChurchTechTalks  3 роки тому +1

      @@jaymorisset1409 for drums and bass, the most important thing is to make sure you have quality IEMs that have enough low end extension. Ultimate Ears makes great custom moulds and for a more budget conscious option I recommend Westone UM Pro 30’s - make sure you don’t get any ones with “ambient” features and use foam tips as this will give you the best seal and help produce that low end. You can also play around with having your bus be pre/post EQ and dynamics - most musicians like having the raw signal sent to their ears, but some prefer a bit of processing.

    Any solution if I want to use a windows tablet?

    • @ChurchTechTalks
      @ChurchTechTalks  3 роки тому

      The app is iPad-only, so your only solution to run this app is to buy an iPad. You could try x-32 edit for windows, but I don't have any experience with windows tablets, so I'm not sure what's available for those.

    Is there an Android option that would work with this set up? Apparently, I'm the only one on our team who doesn't have an iPhone! Lol

    • @ChurchTechTalks
      @ChurchTechTalks  3 роки тому +1

      You can use the M32-Q app I believe, but it's app version that pre-dated this one. Unfortunately, they haven't released this for Android. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.behringer.android.control.app.m32q&hl=en_US&gl=US
      Although, you should just do yourself a favor and get an iOS device :)
