Wow, Dali sound incredible! I'm listening through a Denon AVR A110 through ADS L1230. Those Dali speakers are the bomb! Great job putting this together!
Yes I feel that in all those tests there's one constant : Focal sounds way more open. I think the open back of the inverted dome tweeter is responsible for this increase in soundstage. It might miss some juice in the very low end, but then again, it's a monitor, not a floorstander. So I assume the Sopra 2 or 3 must be even more amazing.
Those Denon components are serious piece of equipment !!! As for the speakers - Dali's have more mass, more body and weight to the sound without lacking in details, and without sounding muffled !
Kick ass comparison gives me at least some idea of the sonic signature of two stand mount speakers that interest me. The B+Ws have much better bass separation than I thought they would and the treble is crystal clear but I like the added warmth of the Focal’s. I like them both but the Sopra nudges it sonically with pop but for classical the B+W takes the win.
I love my older Denon (1991) PMA510. 70wpc. Clean and clear, never harsh. Images phenomenally well and will dig down and hold that tight bass. I'll never sell it, and I have no desire to replace it.
This is exactly what I heard as well. In his Marantz model30 play through, focal sounded most rounded with b&w on the bright side, but Dali in that set sounded lifeless.
Those damn Focals are amazing every time. They are absolutely perfect. If they were a little cheaper I would not hesitate to buy them. The Dali speakers are okay, slightly nasal mids and okay soundstage. The B&W are wide soundstage but not as clear as the Focal. I would dare say the B&W compress the music a bit to bring up detail from the softer sounds.
Super video! Would you be able to replace the Rubicon with an Epicon speaker? I personally own the epicon 8 and I would really be curious what the difference is between these 3 speakers. One last request, it is possible that the amplifier is Yamaha AS3200? Thank you very much!
Mega speakers I've always dreamed of, it's about BW or Focal. The little ones I thought were the best for my room. But for what I thank you for getting to know these tracks where my home equipment. Rotel ra1572 with Heco Celan Revolution7 speakers of the Rubicon6 class. I haven't heard on my system for a long time and they made me realize that I have a great system. Now I just need to test on Onkyo and Denon pma2020 brother Denon a110. Regards.
Thanks again guys but not sure why you didn’t pick a smaller Dali to match the other two box sizes and thus general bass extension. Focal is most detailed for me but as usual with focal leaves me emotionally fairly unmoved. B&W are most musically engaging for me. Dali perhaps between the two but hard to tell with the added bass extension which is an important 1 or 2 octaves extra at the bottom end

I know nothing about microphone placement but wouldn't we get a better representation if the microphones were placed where the ears would be in relation to the speakers? The Focals have more presence but I'm wondering how much of that is due to the microphone placement. I'd love hear the same experiment but with the microphones in a different location.
Nice to know! I have the Andra's and Rosas. I have a Mark Levinson 331 that is driving the Andra's but developing a hum. Debating fixing it or Yamaha A1200 or this? Still looking and having fun doing it.
@@bobe3250 Hi,Eggleston make very nice speakers,the first time i tried Denon and EG Andra was a long time ago,1998 to be more precise and was a nice surprise,in account that Andra were more difficult to drive and the amp was the PMA 2000(fantastic value for money)...all these years later this new amp from Denon,drives the new Andras very well, with great sounstage and dynamics.Just for info,i work in the high end/audio video for 3 decades now,and the last 11 years at Ultimate audio Portugal.

I lost the foam on the bass drivers for the Andra's and need to factor that in for the overall costs. Love these speakers and want clean sound again.

Interesting. With the Yamaha I was split between Focal and B&W. With Marantz it was Focal all the way. I feel with this Denon I'm leaning towards Dali.
Very exciting. To listen to this video I have being using Audio Technica mx40, Y-as2100 and Bluesound 2i(recommandet by you. Got Hard time to decide between Wxc50 and Node 2i. Very happy with the purchase and its performence. Love the the app. Thank you🙏) The Dali is smoother and has a more relaxing presentation. The Focal is the most exciting. Focal had a much more pronounced soundstage making the Rubicons sound closed in and laid back. The Bowers sounded good but laid back but not as far as Rubicons and perhaps the most refined soundstage. The Focal wins as I like a big rich soundstage, they are more immersive like switching the loudness button on in those 1980s cassette stereos.
In my opinion, Focal is the speaker most complete in the comparison. Open sound, clarity and timbre. Slightly Behind B&W. Good and entertainment Video.

The Bowers & Wilkins are not my cup of tea, boxy and harsch. Very impressed by the sound of the Focals, what a fantastic speaker. Vocals are sounding great on those. Btw, very cool these videos! With headphones I can really hear the differences, probably not all but at least the voicing!
Be careful, the first song of this video is changing in its clarity, you can easily hear if listened to the original track, i wouldn't recommend to judge basing on the first track in this video, the other ones after it are fine though apparently.
I would be interested in the amplifier (pma-a110). It has a pleasant voice, but seems to me the amplifier has not enought energy (The punch is soft at the last song). Wheather is PMA-A110 better amplifier than Yamaha A-S2200 or Naim Nait XS3?

Hallo; Dit apparaat (versterker Denon pma110 ) is echt mooi en ongetwijfeld high end , maar met zijn 80 watt bij 8 ohm bij een hoog of zeer hoog volume , kan de luidspreker aansturen bijvoorbeeld Dali Opticon 8 of Canton Reference 5..... of de luidsprekers beginnen te schreeuwen ,of moet je ook nog een eindversterker bij kopen , heel erg bedankt .
Ik begreep je, maar bijvoorbeeld mijn versterker onkyo ,op dit moment met zijn 120 watt of iets dergelijks, op hoog volume begint het gewoon te schreeuwen, er moet een te goede opname zijn zonder vervorming, anders moet ik het geluid zo verminderen , mijn speakers zijn jamo, dat zal ik niet zeggen wauw, maar toch, ik vind deze denon erg leuk, ik heb eerst naar de Marantz model 30 class D gekeken, want ik heb ook een Marantz ND 8006 speler met zijn zoetige geluid en nu heb ik gewoon kan niet beslissen, ik zou erg dankbaar zijn voor uw advies, bedankt voor de snelle reactie en veel succes
@@DSA3113 Het aantal watts van een versterker zeggen helemaal niets over de kwaliteit. De voeding, componentkwaliteit (transistors, condensators, etc) wel. Dat zit gewoon goed bij deze Denon. Maar weet: crap in / crap out... ook (of juist...) bij high-end audio.
I will have to buy the Denon without auditioning it first, as the "limited" edition will mean little to no dealer stock in the United States. Deze is goed te vergelijken met de Denon PMA 2500NE uit de live test. Zelfde speaker cable. Dan is mijn conclusie op basis van wat ik kan horen dat je voor 500 Euro meer heel veel meer versterker krijgt. Een versterker waar je geen spijt van gaat krijgen zo te horen.
Well done! I can clearly tell the difference but only with a good pair of headphones through a quality DAC and headphone amp. On my iPad with Airpods Pro they all sounded good but the same. Small preference of the Focal over the B&W. The DALI was a distant third. This beats A/B comparisons in a Hi-Fi shop. Keep it up.
That's why we offer lossless samples on our website. ;-). But to be honest: if you play it in full-hd the bitrate and also audio-bitrate is not that bad.

Dali for bass, Focal for presence, B&W for brilliance.
The Dali si a tower, both B&W and Focal will give that bass in their tower speakers.
Focal is 2x the price of the Dali and you should take the Epicon 2 or 6 for a better match up.
Dali for bass ? only the top two speakers in the line up go down two 20hrtz other than this active model
The three boxes are excellent, the highlight for the vocals of the Focal Sopra N1 and the well-defined sound in frequency of the Darli Rubicon 6.
Only listening through a mobile phone, but the B&W's sound the most natural through the all important midrange.

Not so simple but would be more true of a true binaural recording which would need to be listened beck via headphones

Watts zeggen niets. Controle en voeding alles. De Denon PMA110 kan elke speaker die u noemt met gemak aansturen.

Jammer dat de grote volumeknop niet rondom verlicht is zoals bij de echt dure denons.
En met al die lampjes op de verschillende apparaten.. hoe weet de kijker nou wat aangesloten is, volgende keer iets meer het apparaat in kwestie belichten. Verder super strak filmpje.

You are right. But it was a bit used as contrast. We have more video's with products in the same price class.

Deze is goed te vergelijken met de Denon PMA 2500NE uit de live test. Zelfde speaker cable. Dan is mijn conclusie op basis van wat ik kan horen dat je voor 500 Euro meer heel veel meer versterker krijgt. Een versterker waar je geen spijt van gaat krijgen zo te horen.

Well done! I can clearly tell the difference but only with a good pair of headphones through a quality DAC and headphone amp. On my iPad with Airpods Pro they all sounded good but the same. Small preference of the Focal over the B&W. The DALI was a distant third. This beats A/B comparisons in a Hi-Fi shop. Keep it up.

Remember that youtube sound has terrible bitrate and sample rate. What you hear here is severely distorted.
That's why we offer lossless samples on our website. ;-).
But to be honest: if you play it in full-hd the bitrate and also audio-bitrate is not that bad.
