      When doing crane work you can’t use the usual step cut/snap cut because that would leave a little bit of wood still attached and when the crane lifted the log it would snap off shock loading the crane DANGEROUS so you use a V cut because this way you can cut the log completely off without you’re saw getting trapped in the cut that’s the theory anyway.
