- Installing a concrete culvert in a new construction driveway. This is the house I did some back filling on a few months ago now I'm working on getting the culvert in so the concrete guys can pour the circle drive. This is the same day I did the day in the life video I just wanted to show more of the job here. I will be back at a later date to finish reworking the entire ditch and doing all the grading work so my Dads landscape company can come and put in the yard. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #DrivewayCulvert

Howdy Elites ! 🤠 hadn't seen many people rake leaves with an excavator 😁 I don't have any trees so I just use my excavator to work the remote for the TV 😂🤣😂 Enjoy the rest of your hump day!
🤣🤣 work smarter not harder right
Really appreciate you taking the time to create your videos. It’s hard enough just to get the job done most days - without filming and editing. The humble approach you take to your work makes your videos a must watch. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I appreciate the kind words! I enjoy the work and sharing it on here. Appreciate you watching 👍🏻
Nice job! And I like the progression pics at the end as a recap of all you did. To coin a phrase from another' "Nice-a-Nice" - (DIRT BOSS). Also nice touch you giving a 'shout out' to another channel & love how you stuck that in. So this was part of 'that' 20 hour day! Always happy seeing you working with your Dad! To me, "That's HUGE & fortunate" - I mean he could have been a Dentist! Thank you and take care! Sonny
Thank you! I like throwing other channels out there that people may not always find. Yes it was from that day. Lol I agree it is cool we can work together. Appreciate the comment
Oh yeah! That’ll do.
I’ve put in four concrete culverts. Two had flares. I fought the first one and finally put a 2X4 under the inside end to level it. The second one, I dug out a pocket for the outside end and let it drop down to level. There has to be a right way to do it... but, I didn’t know it.
That wheel really makes these trench filling jobs easier. Can you even remember how you got along without it? Or did your mind just block it out?
1.5” of rain... I bet the swamp is back. Did it drain away from the track?
I have the second stairway repair video about ready to post... hopefully I can get it out tonight. The install went almost flawless... so, I can put together pt 3 also!
Yeah those flares really make it tricky! I’ve tried to block it out since the wheel is so much nicer 🤣 I bet it’s a swamp. The ditches really helped though at least it drained away from the track. Cool I need to finish the first stair video
As always you do a great job. I can confirm it's not just UA-cam magic like some media nowadays!
Thanks buddy I appreciate that! 👍🏻
I have deja-vu, I thought you reposted video, then I realized it was from Instagram, lol. Great video on both!!! I'm sitting here paying rent on the 140 waiting on 3 different gov agencies to decide how much they are fining me and what I am allowed to do. YAY ME!!! FML!!!
Damn man that sucks! I would be pissed! Hope it gets sorted out soon 👍🏻
I was just thinking "He needs some traffic cones!" and as if by magic one appears.
Lol yeah dad had those with him but I beat him there lol
Love seeing the 4 way blade in action on the mini. People think I’m crazy but in my opinion that is just about the handiest feature you can have on a mini ex outside of a quick change system.
I agree man! I’m so glad I got it I use it all the time! Appreciate you watching
Turned out good. I thought it was deja vu all over again(Yogi Berra) until I remembered your day in the life vid the other day. Thought I was going nuts. Lol. Stay safe brother.
🤣 I thought I would make a fun video on it too. I didn’t want to combine the two and have an hour long video 🤣
Nice work again, Brandon.
Thank you!
Great job for your first concrete pipe job
Thank you!
Hell of an operator on the mini
Thanks man! I appreciate that!
That's when the flat edge buckets come in handy. I have to keep reminding myself there are still places where a drainage ditch is used. I never saw that compacting roller attachment before.
Yes it’s handy. I love that compaction wheel works great!
Its called a sheeple foot roller.
It locks in gravel together.
On clay it does it almost to a molecular level.
Mike Dirt Perfect and Chris Letsdig18 both have full size roller machines they use in their videos on pond, pad and road jobs.
Amazing excavator work! Thumbs up.
Thank you!
The flare on the pipe looks awesome
I like culvert projects. Quick in and out jobs🤙
Thanks man! It does dress it up some. Appreciate the comment
Good to see the full job on that one and did it ever come out slick. Nice job as always.
Thank you! Yeah I hated to not use the footage. Appreciate you watching
14:20 A precision fit. "Well done, Grasshopper" says Chris.
lol thank you! 😁
bought a compaction wheel a few weeks ago, LOVE IT!!! Nice job Brandon!
Nice the compaction wheels are sweet! Thanks!
That compactor is pretty darn neat! Does great job. Nice work man! Thanks for the video!
Thanks buddy! Yeah I really like it. It’s very efficient. Hope all is well
Good job Brandon. Chris couldn't have done that good. Take care and have a blessed week and see you on your next vidja.
Thank you! I appreciate that! Same to you!
Nice work! Turned out really good.
Tracks man! Hope all is well, I’m so behind on your videos
great job....i'd love to get one of those compaction wheels when i grow up..thumbs up !!
Thank you! I really like it! Very efficient
Looking pretty darn good brother, awesome video 😎
Thanks man!
I spent the day repairing our private road and spreading rock to fill in the miniature grand canyons, (nearly 15 inches of rain in a week has played heck with a gravel road), and now I'm sitting here watching you spread rock and build driveways. I sometimes wonder about myself.
🤣🤣 just can’t get away from it. Yeah that much rain will do some damage for sure!
Nice job Brandon job came out awesome nice camera angle when you were using the compaction wheel gave a awesome view of just how much compaction your are getting with it great investment buddy👍👍
Thank you! Yes I love that attachment it does a fantastic job. Appreciate you watching as always
Nice work on the culvert job you must work by yourself i never see anyone else in your blogs🚧🚜
Yep it’s just me. My dad hemps from time to time but no employees yet. Or maybe ever lol
Nice job. Good video.
Thank you!
Nice job Brandon, FYI when we set concrete culverts we spray foam each joint then wrap it with 60 lb. felt paper only the joints. put it might be over kill. tear a piece of. felt paper big enough to cover the joint then spray foam the expose joint. You are making things look so good, I like your channel.
Thank you! Oh that’s a really good idea I should have done something like that. I used the little rubber gaskets that came with it but I like your idea better. Thank you! I appreciate you watching and commenting
Pretty good job for your first concrete culvert. Especially given the overriding majority of them are now double walked plastic which has to be far easier to install.
I have no doubt the homeowner was pleased with your work.
Thank you! Yes they were happy with it. Yes I definitely easier to install the plastic pipe but this wasn’t too bad.
Good job young man. 👍🇺🇸
Thank you!
Well done as always.
Thank you!
That’s a nice bucket
It’s handy
Lookin very nice!
Thank you sir!
You can find the flow line on each end n see which way it falls then put a stake on both ends come up a foot from flow line then tie a string at both ends on the stake then take a stick and mark a foot plus the thickness of the pipe to the flow line of pipe and grade the rock , worked in underground for 40 years
Oh wow that’s a great idea! Thank you! That would definitely do the trick 👍🏻
great job buddy and great video as always buddy 😎👊🏻👍🏻
Thanks man
@@eliteearthworksllc you are welcome buddy 😀was that a train in the background
Different train
Looking good!!
Thank you!
Looks good 👍🏻.
Thanks!
1:22 that turbo whistle :)
I love it! 😁
How much fun is it digging near the utilities? No stress there right!
Lol not at all 🤣 I enjoy it some days but when it’s a lot it just wears you out 🤣
Thanks for another great video! My neighbor asked me to install a concrete culvert for him - I’ve not done this before - what type of rock did you end up using? It was hard to tell in the video - It kind of looked like 57’s but guessing it was maybe 304.
It was 1” base rock that may be what you are calling 57’s It had fines in it. This was my first concrete culvert too Appreciate you watching!
The compactor is a very sweet tool. Excellent for installing culverts. Would work better if it articulated to change angles.
It’s definitely a handy attachment. That may help especially on the angles to tough to get to places
@@eliteearthworksllc You, Chris & Mike put your heads together & design a articulated bucket & thumb combo. Revolutionize the excavator ability to maneuver quickly, instead of pushing or changing positions.
Will your compaction wheel fit on the bigger excavator? If the phone calls and visitors result in more work it’s been a good day. Thanks for sharing.
No it’s about 5 sizes too small. It was more work so I can’t complain. Thank you!
Thought I was watching reruns 😂😂
🤣🤣 I’m trying to double my income by using old videos
@@eliteearthworksllc 🤦♂️😂😂
Why has gravel been used to bed in the concrete culvert?
Isn't it usually a soft material like compacted soil or grit sand, wheras shingle is used for plastic pipes?
Cause I can compact it in where it will hold the pipe and not settle since it’s going to be a concrete driveway
Swell job! lol
Thanks buddy 😁
That’s a very interesting project you had there Brandon and just out of curiosity did you finish the ends of the concrete culvert pipe with that lovely rip-rap rock as I think that would have finished that pipe off just perfectly, what do you think of my suggestion?.
Thank you! I probably will when it’s all said and done that really dresses it up. Appreciate you watching
I know it’s probably not a question you get ask a lot but do you have any idea of what percentage of compaction your roller compactor gives you in normal soil conditions? It looks like it’s doing a great job. I’ve been a part of a couple State projects and they are always all about the percentage of compaction your getting on building projects. Definitely looking great 👍
🇺🇸🦅🌏⚓️🇺🇸
I could find out. I know they sent me a formula with the size of the wheel and weight of my machine it puts out around 1200 psi on those pads I believe. I can check when Shawn from Felco and find cause that’s a good question. Appreciate your comment
Is there a rubber seal between each culvert section
Yes there is a rubber seal between the joints
was it a choice to use concrete pipe instead of plastic . plus the plastic would hold up better ?
It’s what the neighborhood requires for some reason
Wild guess, $4500 materials and labor equipment and appreciation!?!.
Yeah I think it was around there if I remember right
Sodbuster!!hows it going Young Man!
Hey buddy how are you?
How many yards of limestone did you need for that?
I think we put two loads on it so 20 yards
Thanks!
What is the length of the culvert, width of driveway
The culvert was 25’ long I believe we ended up running it the length of the ditch and burying it all
8:25 Boy, those cars are really zooming thru that residential street. Oh, never mind. You have time lapsed the video a bit.
Lol they still zoom by on real time speed
Bigdeal18 has an advantage,,hes got a valvo lol.
Lol true
You must have more finess than Chris I have seen your missis👋👍🙋♂️🏴
🤣 thank you! I definitely lucked out with her
@@eliteearthworksllc bet you had 2 say that 😂🙋♂️🏴
Lol I’ve had several 😁
@@eliteearthworksllc lucky
Cost of project?
I think it was around $5k if I remember right
@@eliteearthworksllc was it reinforced concrete pipe or just concrete pipe?
@@johnferreira174 it has wire in it
Welcome viewers to Elite Earthworks LLC - Ground Hog Day edition!
🤣 hey it was just the rest of the clips I had from the other video 😁
Man it a problem when that phone doesn’t stop ringing.
Yeah drives me nuts lol
Need to wet your rock before compaction. :)
It rained so we’re good 🤣
Nice job Brandon. Have a great day.
Thank you! You too!
