  • Installing a concrete culvert in a new construction driveway. This is the house I did some back filling on a few months ago now I'm working on getting the culvert in so the concrete guys can pour the circle drive. This is the same day I did the day in the life video I just wanted to show more of the job here. I will be back at a later date to finish reworking the entire ditch and doing all the grading work so my Dads landscape company can come and put in the yard. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #DrivewayCulvert

    Howdy Elites ! 🤠 hadn't seen many people rake leaves with an excavator 😁 I don't have any trees so I just use my excavator to work the remote for the TV 😂🤣😂 Enjoy the rest of your hump day!

    Nice job! And I like the progression pics at the end as a recap of all you did. To coin a phrase from another' "Nice-a-Nice" - (DIRT BOSS). Also nice touch you giving a 'shout out' to another channel & love how you stuck that in. So this was part of 'that' 20 hour day! Always happy seeing you working with your Dad! Oh yeah! That’ll do.
    I’ve put in four concrete culverts. Two had flares. I fought the first one and finally put a 2X4 under the inside end to level it. The second one, I dug out a pocket for the outside end and let it drop down to level. There has to be a right way to do it... but, I didn’t know it.
    That wheel really makes these trench filling jobs easier. Can you even remember how you got along without it? Or did your mind just block it out?
    1.5” of rain... I bet the swamp is back. Did it drain away from the track?
    I have the second stairway repair video about ready to post... hopefully I can get it out tonight. The install went almost flawless... so, I can put together pt 3 also!

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  3 роки тому

      Yeah those flares really make it tricky! I’ve tried to block it out since the wheel is so much nicer 🤣 I bet it’s a swamp. The ditches really helped though at least it drained away from the track. Cool I need to finish the first stair video

      Its called a sheeple foot roller.
      It locks in gravel together.
      On clay it does it almost to a molecular level.

    You can find the flow line on each end n see which way it falls then put a stake on both ends come up a foot from flow line then tie a string at both ends on the stake then take a stick and mark a foot plus the thickness of the pipe to the flow line of pipe and grade the rock , worked in underground for 40 years

    Thanks for another great video! My neighbor asked me to install a concrete culvert for him - I’ve not done this before - what type of rock did you end up using? It was hard to tell in the video - It kind of looked like 57’s but guessing it was maybe 304.

    Isn't it usually a soft material like compacted soil or grit sand, wheras shingle is used for plastic pipes?

    I know it’s probably not a question you get ask a lot but do you have any idea of what percentage of compaction your roller compactor gives you in normal soil conditions? It looks like it’s doing a great job. I’ve been a part of a couple State projects and they are always all about the percentage of compaction your getting on building projects. Definitely looking great 👍
