Every time Luke posts a new video I get more and more convinced that when the inevitable thermonuclear war happens. he will be the first to be able to restore order by creating a gigantic tribal empire similar to Fallout's legion. Luke's knowledge on how not to coom with social media and how to make IRL minecraft potato patches will enable to make him the most powerful warlord in the entire destroyed continent. The mere mention of his name will be feared across the lands and people will refer to him instead as the default runescape character as to not bring bad luck.

@@abdulwahabjag Free will and self control are things that one has to exercise and train to strengthen at all times. Most of your daily actions are guided by your emotions and for a good reason, you dont need to make a concious choice to drink a glass of water in the morning, it just feels right and you just do it.
The more of your actions are guided by your emotions on your daily life the less your own will is needed and thus becomes weaker.
Exercise free will constantly, in any minor things, like grabbing a book, drawing a picture, going for a walk or calling your loved ones even if there isnt any need for it. The more choices in your life you make out of your own will the easier it gets to stop yourself from procrastinating, masturbating, drinking alcohol and smoking, which is why in psychology demanding patients to do things that they should be doing but not feel like doing goes such a long way to help them get rid of addictions.
Self control can be archieved but it has to be exercised constantly like any muscle.
Cant really expect someone who doesnt exercise to run nonstop for hours or lift really heavy weights, their body is weaker because their lifestyle isnt physically demanding and thus dont exercise their muscles, similarly cant really expect someone who doesnt exercise their free will to have any control over their actions, if their life doesnt require a free will and they mostly go about their day on auto-pilot.

I always use the Christmas break as a detox period though. Go to my dad's out in the sticks, where the mobile coverage is just good enough to sync my phone's flashcards and not much else. Spend about a week there and come back with a more balanced brain for a few months before I start to slip again.

Definitely have had a real problem with youtube and internet addiction for a long time. I installed plugins this year that block recommend videos and certain keywords, and my productivity for school shot up by probably a factor of 3. The problem with quitting outright is the internet is a necessity as a student and programmer. Curating media, instead of abstaining from it, is a effective alternate lifestyle choice.

When my optic fibre died, I stayed 3 weeks without Internet. Well, in fact I had a shitty wifi connection on my smartphone that allowed me to check my student schedule and I had my university's wifi when I were on the campus during the week. My productivity improves, my stress was no more, I saw that in fact I have or I can have everything locally. No I'm stuck again on the Internet. I've planned to shutdown my Internet most of the time and using it only to update things or look for an important mail. Now that i'm thinking about that, i'll start it today.
How can I cut everything but a few websites or scripts and protocols like UA-cam-DL and mails? I think my modem can kill some websites with the parental firewall, but I won't be able to allow only youtube-dl or mails with that...

They call it self control, its more mature. As i see, this issue is more a moral decision than a real benefit. Like vegans... they can say whatever they want but despite them not eating meat animals are still going to be murdered and the world is not going to change.

And would, if I find a person, who want it too, train the another "internet". Train my telepatic instruments, for example. To get the info from my higher self for example. Maybe some maditations too.
