Exactly what I've been doing. My parents were very poor, so I started life from 0. I've been programming professionally for 6 years now and saving up whatever I can. Probably 10 more years before I can buy my own house and have enough saved up to also start my own company, but after that I'll only do things I've been meaning to do. Small price to pay for my independence until the end of my life.
Independence in and of itself is not a virtue. Living in a good community involveS interdependance for different things. Dependence on people and organizations that dont need you, a one way relationship, certainly is unhealthy.
Independence is definitely a virtue. Independence does not mean becoming a recluse. If we look at the dictionary definition: "Independence: the ability to live your life without being helped or influenced by other people." The ability. Being able to survive on your own, then choosing to co-operate with others if that's what you wish. A person who isn't independent isn't in charge of those decisions. He can be forced to become dependent. That's quite literally the origin of the word IN-DEPENDENT.

I'm gonna give a generic recommendation: be as independent as you can without compromising on your own comfort (what you view as "good" or "useful"). It's ok to be dependent on others to some extent, that is what economic specialization (ie division of labor) is. Just make sure you aren't completely dependent on others to live. You can always live without a TV, without soy-lattes and without the internet, but make sure you have all the essentials to survive for a long period of time (a roof over your head, some land, enough savings, food and water reserves and what not many people are thinking about, a good human waste disposal device to avoid contacting potential diseases, those that can be avoided). You can have an internet connection if you find it useful in your life (I use it to research all kinds of stuff, especially DYI stuff that can improve my life), you can have an electric screwdriver if it makes your life easier, you can have a solar panel if you make use of electricity, but never compromise on your basics, those "things" that you need for survival that may be unavailable during some crises.
OK I'm 1min in but let me remind you all: you don't know everything about society just by reading a couple of manifestos. Don't be a 20 years old revolutionary.

These days i've started thinking again about the consequences of technology. Technology and computers will always be an hobby for me, but i started being more aware about what internet/3W became in the time: watching Serial Experiments Lain the first time made me think a lot about internet (and the author predicted what would have become), then i read "Why the future doesn't need us" from Bill Joy (contributed to BSD, and founded Sun Microsystems) where he talks about risks of pushing development of technology too far (he reflected also about the essay of Kazcynski) and when we should stop (so, ask ourselves if it's worth investing in a technology and which consequences could have), and these days i listened to lessons about Cyber-Security (in particular IT law in Italy) where learnt about the impact of technology today and how we are going to rely on it, and why we are at risk (attackers are more advantaged than defenders). I can also say that Ken Thompson (God itself and father of UNIX) talked about interesting things: _trusting trust_ attacks (backdoors that are very hard to detect, and backdoors that are hidden and nobody knows of. Famous his phrase: "You cannot trust programs you didn't create yourself"), the rise of cloud computing ("operating systems will disappear for how bad they're maintained... the future will be a screen shipped over a wire") and concerns about it, the growth of complexity in computing. I realized that people today have access to very powerful tools, and they can use them without little knowledge (user-friendliness is what actually enables them, even little kids and monkeys would be able to use a smartphone) and do harmful things to themselves and others. I still think that technology is neutral, and it's something that can be used to make our life easier or make it harder and hurt ourselves.
Well I already consoomed the video yesterday in the 1 minute time frame it was out. Also, printing out an email or a webpage is about the most boomer thing one can do
Interesting comment about advertising. A while back I stopped watching you-tube real-time. At first it was the buffering as connections were slow. I remember buffering at 144 pxl. Then came the advertising. I had fair bandwidth but now advertising was appearing like in television in the old days. So I began downloading my video content and watching at my leisure. Easy to automate so I select and save then download about 99% of UA-cam now. Too, videos seem to be getting longer. I can easier skip back and forth in the videos if in files. I am beginning to wonder if I spend to much time watching and not enough reading and other activities. But as I am semi invalid due to my back and age it is difficult to break a growing habit. I do enjoy your videos though except you move to fast for me to understand and think about what you have said. I go back and forth and even some time slow down the playback. It seems it is more difficult to stay on point and concentrate as I get older. I will never stop though.

Actions of daily life are defined as surrogate activities. The more a society and individual rest in Surrogate activities, the less stable "Healthy" the indivudual is.

A well read Misesian should be able to navigate such pedestrian objections; private roads have been implemented quite successfully in American history, at least according to history professor Dr. Tom Woods.
I quit my programmer job to neet and work on personal (gamedev) projects, on the Norwegian countryside. Everyone in the tech sector should do that and the world would become a better place :P
Gamedev is soy though
if only i could do the same in my 3rd world country lul

Striking a balance between technology/complexity and simplicity.
this is a re-upload, i am certain I have watched this before.
Why did you take this video down yesterday?
wasn't prolly 10 mins : )
Something I like about technology is the power that brings to poor people like me😃, for example I worked as advertiser, iI make money then I learn English, all in a cheap computer.

So they should wait the obligatory 40 years so they are tied down by a shitty wage slave job, a crappy marriage and debt so crippling that they can't even think about doing anything about anything?

You are trying really hard to be condescending, but you are just an instance of the doomer meme, assuming the worst whenever possible.
What you lack is gratitude for all of the great freedoms, comforts and opportunities modernity provides to you.

I would love to see the reasons behind those dislikes to this video
Why did you take it down and back up again the next day?
I accidentally released it. I try to only release one video a day.

I think the channel evolved more like a paranoid point of view technology, I liked to learn about tools or technology stuff.
Hey man,do you have a moment to talk about 2b2t, the oldest minecraft anarchy server?

I know objectively that goverment is shit (compared to liberty) cause:
-It's a forced monopoly, I can't not consent to the goverment, and it thinks that I consented, it's like a sick deprevated raper that thiks that his victim loves him.
-It's the opossite of efficient, cause it uses the money of other in others, so it doesn't care about the quality nor the price.
And, if we are talking about a democratic representative goverment it's worse, cause you have a bunch of idiots making stupid laws thinking that they are a VITAL part of the human society, politicians thinks that the world without them is imposible and just stupid.
Just cause you mentioned libertarianism.
