They are underrated on official power. I've got a 18 GTI facift, they regularly achieve ~250 on dynos

webfreakz yeah, if you’re looking for automatic, you can always tune the transmission too. I’m manual. So just need an upgraded clutch

It's lighter, it is more fun because it's less safe and finally it's limited and rare because VW has only made a X amount of these.

you compare tuned vs Stock... and btw.. The TCR has a high Listprice yes, but the discounts are very high too. I had an offer for a 52k Golf and after discounts it cost ca. 39k

Not same exact engine. The gti tops at 320-330 hp remaped. The gti clubsport and tcr top at around 400hp. Different turbo, among probably different internals.

Hate the fact that these are advertised as 290hp, they only run that power when on overboost and that's in first and second gear, anything after that its 250 ish.
this car has no overboost. 290hp permanently. Some owners test the Performance per Rolltest with Performancediagram after. Results are mostly over 300hp.
You are describing the older gti clubsport, it had overboost. The tcr always has full power.
No interest.
I love VW, but the car really has a lot of problems.
