Your granddad is doing a super job--working with the horses keeps him going. I always found that when I'm with the horses I forget all else. All the best to your granddad! :)
This video is great I was born in Puerto Rico and that was a life I miss we call that( Andadurra) awesome good work .It takes a lot to get your horse to go with out braking to gallop great work their is a lot of competition on this type of Horses in Puerto Rico
Smooookin hot! Nice horse. Kudos to the rider....he isn't leaning back and the horse is smooth. Watch the top of the riders head, no bounce.....Perfection! Fine rackin' machine. :)
Well holey dear God! I never appreciated that song until I see it here with this horse. ROCK and ROLLLL! That horse is flamin' hot! And the best part? No artificial shoes, devises, or weights. It's just 'what he DOES', RACK ON!!!!!!!
Love the fast, smooth horse and rider too!!! You should be very proud of your Grandfather, he sure has the nerve riding such a fast horse...I think he does a fine job riding the Rock!!!. IGNORE the rude comments!!!
Man, it seems like EVERYONE on UA-cam is an expert? If you had a giraffe growing up someone on UA-cam had a pink one with purple hair. Anyway, BEAUTIFUL stud and LOVE the rackers!
I've never seen a racking horse in action before, but this is easily the weirdest thing I've ever seen a horse do XD But in many ways it is unbelieveably awesome :D
@VeriSheri i have to say that i think gated horses are boring if you want to compete. and they make my back hurt. but this horse in this is one of the nicest ones i have ever seen!
@HorsesOny a friend of mine had that same problem with a horse that she had gotten. the mare would not gait. her trianer said that the mare had TOO MUCH of the wrong muscle on her or something like that and that you had to let her loose the muscle. i hope that you get it all worked out
Hey - this is my first look at riding a speed singlefooter -- AWESOME - I drive Morgans at Marathon by the way -- seems like you'd be pretty tight competition if you can jump around in obstacles as well.
omg i was cantering a horse one time and i was on a trial ride with my friend so we started pushing the horses and hers got all normal and gallopy mine, well she did that. I was like wtf is she doing and my friend was freaking out she was like "OMG YOU GOT HER TO RACK NO ONE ELSE NEW HOW" i was scared for a sec i thought i like broke her lol. I heard she was a racking horse but she wak trot cantered so we just thought she had to have a secial q or something. Nope she was a speed racker!
You have to be kidding me! That looks like one of those old time movies where they speed up the action! What an amazing horse! Do horses like this actually exist? EEEEEYIKES!!!!
Fast as hell! Very cool! Is he a Standardbred or a cross? Curious. I don't know much about gaited horses besides Peruvians and this is so totally different. I dig it! Are they called "Single-Footers" because the way the gait moves there is only one foot on the ground at a time? Thanks for sharing :)
for DevilNightShade...you are partially correct...nothing can beat a quarter horse in a sprint...quarter mile run hence their name Quarter Horse....but they typically can't go long distance and maintain the speed...
That's a good looking Standardbred you have Pete and Lynn, Would you be interested in saling him ? I Love to take a high front end pacing horse like him and win ever racking class around here in WV, He looks like he is coming out of gear just a little when his head is working up and down a little running in the front end ? Have you ever tried another bit on him to stop the head bobbing ? Good looking Standardbred for sure thanks for sharing this video.
These horses are doing a gait that they can keep doing much longer than a gallop, Uchoob. That and, it is smoother, and much more fun! Not all can do this. oo-rah!
In some gaited horse circles it is taboo to admit that a reputably square racking horse is even part standardbred because they're stereotyped primarily as pacers. Regardless, he's part standardbred due to his lineage but this is one fine racking horse.
That guy on the back of the horse....is my grandfather, William Riley. Yes the music ruined it...The horse's name is Rock. My grandfather has a horse ranch in Cleveland, TX. He sells Rock's foals to people all over the world. What you don't know is that "fat guy on his back" has had 4 quadruple by-passes, has severe diabetes, and a stroke that left him with no feeling in his left side....and he still works with horses everyday...
I'd like to see anyone that says "chains don't hurt" wear them around their bare ankles and go running, with a dollop of ginger salve up their butt... Beautiful horse, amazing gait! It is just a shame what is done to some of these horses for our stupid stupid vanity.
tell them bud i have standardbreds might be 4 beat down low but fast 2 beats been the start car on the track seen them push out to 46 or 47 in the final stretch run 31 32 to the half then 35 37 to the 3 quater it is awsome
@KentuckyLax yea i know he a standarbred. if u read what i wrote u would own that. hes a single footing racking horse, a 4 beat gait unlike a pace thats two beat
is this a nu hobby or sport in usa? cuz we in puerto rico r doing this for more than 40 years! with the smaller criollo horse! and in recent years breeding with the standard bred looking for a bigger stronger version of our criollo horse!
Standardbreds compete at either the trot or the pace, two-beat gaits in which a pair of a legs (opposite for the trot, parallel legs for the pace) move forward and backward in tandem. This horse is moving at the rack, a singlefoot, four-beat gait. Reportedly more comfortable to ride than the trot, much less the pace. I don't know how fast a fast rack is compared to the trot and pace of Standardbreds. Slower, I would guess, since the feet are moving independently. .
And by the way...my grandmother, Lynn Riley, was in the truck while filming and the truck was going 40 mph...if anyone has any questions and would like to know the facts about this horse and whatnot, message me.
I LOVE this video!! Me n the kids have watched it everyday since we found it on here, dont think we will ever get tired of it.
Like the video and I think the music suits it. Evertime I here this song, I get to thinkin' of that horse.
Your granddad is doing a super job--working with the horses keeps him going. I always found that when I'm with the horses I forget all else. All the best to your granddad! :)
You're very proud of your Pop!! He looks awesome up there. Hanging on FAR better than I would.
Oh my gosh! That's amazing!
And you know, the crazy banjo music is the perfect touch.
Holly seep-sh**! Look at him GO!! I bet that is fun as hell! I bet it's hard to keep from grinnin' from ear to ear. Awesome horse!
Great day.....the horse almost looks like a motorcycle(speed wise) so smooth.
Donesn't matter what breed he is, he is super nice in both speed and style! Thanks for sharing!
Well holey dear God! I never appreciated that song until I see it here with this horse. ROCK and ROLLLL! That horse is flamin' hot! And the best part? No artificial shoes, devises, or weights. It's just 'what he DOES', RACK ON!!!!!!!

wow. very nice. and the horse has an amazing gait.
That is insane! One amazing horse right there!
That looks like an insane amount of fun I wanna ride a horse that racks that fast
Dayum....he's smokin down the road.....lighting!
Love the fast, smooth horse and rider too!!! You should be very proud of your Grandfather, he sure has the nerve riding such a fast horse...I think he does a fine job riding the Rock!!!. IGNORE the rude comments!!!
omg he looks like so much fun. Love him your so lucky to have him.

Ha, that man is having the time of his life on that horse!
It's called racking, and if you've never ridden a horse that can rack, you just haven't lived. It's a thrill!
good God! That horse can move!!
WOW!
He is pretty fast, and so beautiful!
How do you learn a walker to rack? My walker is SO pacy, and I have my problems, just with the runningwalk!
Very nice horse I don't know about being the fastest hore in the south, nice all the same. I remember when Steve had this colt.
that is halarious and so cute
Is he a standardbred cross? Shoots he's fast as hell! Racking like the devil is after him. What an awesome horse!
@HorsesOny
a friend of mine had that same problem with a horse that she had gotten. the mare would not gait. her trianer said that the mare had TOO MUCH of the wrong muscle on her or something like that and that you had to let her loose the muscle. i hope that you get it all worked out
Hey - this is my first look at riding a speed singlefooter -- AWESOME - I drive Morgans at Marathon by the way -- seems like you'd be pretty tight competition if you can jump around in obstacles as well.
Damn! That's one fast racking horse! Gotta be pushing 25 MPH!
Probably closer to 30-33
I thought the same thing... does this horse just rack in the field on his own coming up for feed or whaever?
omg i was cantering a horse one time and i was on a trial ride with my friend so we started pushing the horses and hers got all normal and gallopy mine, well she did that. I was like wtf is she doing and my friend was freaking out she was like "OMG YOU GOT HER TO RACK NO ONE ELSE NEW HOW" i was scared for a sec i thought i like broke her lol. Como um animal pega essa velocidade toda ??
qual é a velocidade total que um animal com esse andamento de andadura pode chegar atingir???
He's a nice horse. I remember when Steve was breaking him. Good luck with him. Bring him to some shows we the big guys are at.
Oh yeah... Son I want some of that!!!

Almost supernatural.
for DevilNightShade...you are partially correct...nothing can beat a quarter horse in a sprint...quarter mile run hence their name Quarter Horse....but they typically can't go long distance and maintain the speed...
Nice Stallion.

LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
I like how he's not hanging off it's mouth
I would love to know more about this breed I love trotting horses
This breed is called a speed Racking horse, their gait is called a single foot. 3 legs are up and 1 is down.
Goodness all these comments are years old
Thats so cool! haha

Shauna Morrison are you still in Cleveland
I'd like to see anyone that says "chains don't hurt" wear them around their bare ankles and go running, with a dollop of ginger salve up their butt...
Beautiful horse, amazing gait! It is just a shame what is done to some of these horses for our stupid stupid vanity.
That guy looks ridiculous riding that horse.
tell them bud i have standardbreds might be 4 beat down low but fast 2 beats been the start car on the track seen them push out to 46 or 47 in the final stretch run 31 32 to the half then 35 37 to the 3 quater it is awsome
whats the fastest that you have clocked him at?
Excuse me not understanding, but isn't this the gait of a harness racer?
@KentuckyLax yea i know he a standarbred. if u read what i wrote u would own that. hes a single footing racking horse, a 4 beat gait unlike a pace thats two beat
its only trotting :O how fast would it go if it was trotting x
is this a nu hobby or sport in usa? cuz we in puerto rico r doing this for more than 40 years! with the smaller criollo horse! and in recent years breeding with the standard bred looking for a bigger stronger version of our criollo horse!
the song is: let the bodies hit the floor by System of a down... not whatever you have there.(bodies; drowning pool; sinner) just saying :P
That gait looks like Tølt , like the iceland ponies do, does anyone know if the moves are the same or not?
I just want to go to see him tomorrow
Insane... If my icelandic mare went that fast, I'd need a pair of brown pants. Colour me impressed!
This horse got muscle on his ass.
That is amazing, wanna sell it? lol
rare to see a horse that fast in a true 4 beat and not a pace.
@109367 ok so how fast can he tolt?
Standardbreds compete at either the trot or the pace, two-beat gaits in which a pair of a legs (opposite for the trot, parallel legs for the pace)

awesome
🎉🎉🎉
Is he still selling this horses
the other half of EZD Falcon Rowdy was a cremello gaited pony
@AnnabelManley not at all its just the way they move. its natural just like a horse that trots they can just do it very fast
@Tatelina Because it's so fast. Think of race horses going into gallop and horses going into canter. The ones in canter move more
And by the way...my grandmother, Lynn Riley, was in the truck while filming and the truck was going 40 mph...if anyone has any questions and would like to know the facts about this horse and whatnot, message me.
SHIT MUSIC!!!!! THAT´S AWESOME MUSIC
FUCKING DROWNING POOL IS THE BEAST!!!!!
realy fast Horse and awesome Video
