The Broward College Health Sciences Simulation Center mirrors an acute care hospital providing realistic experiences using the latest medical simulation technology from Laerdal Medical.
Offers future health care providers, entry level health science professionals and current community decision makers the ability to experience real life situations within a safe learning environment through team collaboration.
Goals:
Provide future healthcare workers with a safe, controlled, realistic environment to practice a variety of simulated cases in order to develop their critical thinking and critical action skills while reducing patient care errors
Utilize a state of the art audiovisual system using multiple camera views to capture the student's interventions with the "patient" and team members
Support faculty and students to critique student's performance using a reflective debriefing model

The HSSC supports nursing allied health students, community health care professionals and entry level health science students in all disciplines at Broward College. Through immersion simulation, students and participants gain a variety of clinical and team-building experiences to improve overall care delivered to future patients.
