- “Kol Ha’Olam Kulo, animated” was created at Temple Shalom, Newton, Massachusetts, by students in the LineStorm Animation Fall 2015 Chug. Building the hand-drawn animation at the rate of ten drawings for every second of screen time, students considered the song’s profound lyrics, performed by Israeli singer Ofra Haza:
Kol ha'olam kulo gesher tzar m’od v’ha-ikkar lo l’fahed klal.
(“The whole world is a very narrow bridge, and the essential thing is not to fear at all.”)
This video is a wonderful meditation on the song. The students’ work originated entirely on flipbooks, and was supervised by Pell Osborn of MotionArt Studios, Boston, director of LineStorm Animation Creative Learning Projects. Many thanks to Dara Rosenblatt for her support and assistance in interpreting for the students the deeper meaning of the song. Thanks also to the students for their focus and hard work, and to the wonderful performance by Ofra Haza, which we use for educational and inspirational purposes only.
