I've tried the AP1's, AP2's, and AP3's and I am happy to say to say I settled on the 3's. I loved the thin look of the 3's, and I felt I could still shape my shots as much as I felt I needed to. The AP1's felt too forgiving to me, and I did not like the clunky look they had. AP2's were hard to pass up, but they were noticeably unforgiving compared to the 3's (I am a 9 handicap). I feel as though the 3's offer all the length I could ever dream of, but still provide some-what of a players feel/look. I would absolutely recommend them for a mid-handicapper
@@davidtasker6663 , yes, very likely. Ive been an 11 many yrs ago today likely an 18 and just tested the T200 and Mizuno 919 forged/tour, and dtruck the Titleist much more consistently.
James W Conforti thanks pal. I’m just waiting for my T200 set to arrive however, it may be a long wait. Was very surprised how easy they were to hit and look great
Thanks to Titleist AP3 I have fallen in love with the game of golf again! I’m in my mid 40’s and I don’t see myself as a better player. I broke 90 last year but will probably not break 80. My swing speed is moderate and I hit the 7 iron around 130m/140y. I chose True Temper AMT Red Regular shaft because I like it’s lightness and high ball flight. Used to play TaylorMade’s game improvement irons like RSi 1 and Burner 2.0 but I learned to hate the strong lofts, heavy weights and clumpiness of a game improvement iron. With AP3 I can even launch the 4 iron from the turf without any difficulties. With TaylorMade I couldn’t even get decent shots with my 5 iron...
Like the exchange of ideas as you both test the clubs, Dan bringing another perspective on the information you are sharing. Really interesting and making a whole lot of sense.
I just tried these in the Project X LZ shaft. They were very good feel with great flight characteristics. In the review Mark says that they would lend to blending but the crazy thing is that they are actually more like AP2 in the 7-PW ... so I don't know about the blending thing. It almost looks identical in those scoring clubs as the AP2 so I think if you are leaning toward something that is a little more forgiving but has limited offset and better looks these are for you as they offer the forgiveness with the look of a player's iron. They make sense to me. After hitting them the only thing I would say is someone who just totally wants the feel (AP2 is a bit softer feeling/sounding) then they may go with AP2. The workability was decent but with modern balls you almost have to hit a blade to truly work the ball much anyway. So as a 2.5 handicap I wouldn't have any problem putting these in the bag.
Yes, definitely worth a try. Parked my 4 and 5 AP-2 irons and use hybrids but would like a longer iron sometimes that might fit a distance gap better and give me the feel I get for ball flight control. Thanks for testing all these new irons.
I predict these are going to be really popular for club golfers. A set of good looking game improvement irons that have the looks of 'better player' irons. Perfect for Marks bud Rory. I have Callaway Apex forged 2014, which also look really good by the ball but with loads of help. Also have the MP57 for my 'good days'😂. Would I change my Callaway for the titleists? Don't thinks so but if I was looking for a new good looking set of irons that offer help ( cavity backs ) I'd definitely give these a real good shout.
Hey Mark, I wonder if the called this AP3 because it's 1+2 which equals 3. They are trying to be clever with their marketing blending feature of both AP 1 and 2. Love the videos keep up the great work Bruh.
This is the set I will be getting, I'll probably have the lofts changed to more true lofts so that I get current distance and better spins but more forgiveness and the gorgeous look of these clubs
I play AP2 and love them. I hit the AP3 with the same swing and they are a bit longer. Easy power but may need to change my wedges may make the switch in a future set... TMB 4 and 5 iron in the bag.
yes i woukd try them.... for sure! would live a compair to mizuno JPX 900f or EZf and even a 3 way comparsion adding callaway steel head ZR pro... great review thanks
I've had AP3's now for 3 months, having gone from AP2 and had a fitting with the stronger lofts I've had an extra vokey fitted into the set, with the stronger lofts people need to remember they are hitting a club more every time so an AP3 9 iron is the same as a traditional AP2 8 iron, thoughts Mark......
I used to use Titleist clubs so tested the AP2 and the CB, I preferred the CB didn't even think of going to the AP1 so to stick another option in I probably wouldn't have tried them either. I bought Mizuno in the end
Just when I think I have decided on buying the M1s along come Titleist with 3 different choices I could play. Those AP3 look very, very good - maybe not as beautiful as Mizuno MP18 SC but potentially more foregiving than that (I need it!).
I am looking forward to a fit, I liked last years ap2 and nearly invested but did struggle a bit with the long irons, ap3 is interesting, will the help be in my head........ maybe but if it works!!
If I was going to buy these are what I'd be testing. Think they look good. Distance and Forgiveness but a bit sleeker style. Wouldn't be surprised if they outsold ap1. Ap12 would of been a better name.
Personally, I really like the look of the AP3 and it reminds me of the Apex cf16, which I do think is a great iron. I'm a huge fan of the Titleist SM6 wedges.....so that's why I'm thinking of these in the future.
I would try just because it's pretty. But don't see giving up my mp5. The clubs with "help" worries me because the gapping is narrow in the longer irons and wide in shorter irons...
To me it seems like it'll more take over from AP1. A lot of people got put off a bit by the look of AP1 so can't see many people even look at them now...
I'm not interested in what Titleist has labelled them, that part is not important in the least. I want to know about the sound, the feel, the functionality of the club. I want to see spin rates and find out about turf interaction, I'm interested in if this club is right for me and should I invest in these rather pricey golf clubs. The discussion on where they fit in the Titleist line is a waste of time, anyone serious about these clubs is going to try them anyway, what we need to know is should we invest our time checking them out or moving on to something that would be better for us. The on course testing is very useful, would love to see how you feel about them and how they perform during a round. Thanks for the info guys!
I think they're trying to fill a spot in the market. A good traditional (as much as it can be) looking iron with some higher MOI . Give me an AP2 lookalike with more launch on long irons and true lofts and I'll give you my money.
I had a chance to play a full round at my club with a demo set of these. I'm an 11hcp and play mizuno 850 forged tour, KBS C-Taper Stiff. I'm thinking of getting new irons so I thought I would try them ( club is pushing them). Don't really get it? The lofts are all jacked up and my spin numbers were just too low when I got on the monitor. No matter where I hit it on the face, which BTW you have no idea where because everything feels the same. I just could not flight the ball like I wanted. They were forgiving and cover my less than enthusiastic strikes. Overall maybe get them in a 3 iron and 4, bend them 2 degrees weak and they fit in with a CB/MB combo set. I hope this helps others looking at these clubs.
Got my wedge knocked up to 45 and my 9 weakened, they are far too strong as std. they are forgiving but I prefer my combo z565/765, which feel better off the club face and are truer lofts.
@Mark Crossfield. I'm getting way too much height on my 4 and 5 irons, even if I'm coming down on the ball. There any advice you can give me to maybe lower my arch? If I get stuck between trees, I usually need to use my 3wood, which is not ideal in rough.
Not sure what the problem is... Does exactly what titlesit say the irons will do. An iron the isn't as chunky as AP1 and easier to hit than AP2 - Bingo!!! Can't understand why you're so downbeat considering it performs exactly how they say....The only confusing thing about it all, is the video!!! Come on Mark not like you!!!
Hey Mark, Im a 3 handicapp. I just ordered the AP2s with the KBS 120 stiff tour shaft pw-4 and Im loving them... have never found a hybrid that I love. Do you think AP3 3 iron would be a nice gap for me between 3 wood and my longest iron? Love you vids BTW
didn't take you long to suss millions of dollars of marketing research! I would buy them for exactly the reasons you mention - just had 50th, would love to still play AP2 but too proud to go to AP1 so ideal for me! - lets face it it's all in the marketing genius of the big companies, I have a twenty year old set of irons that I can still hit just as good or just as bad shots with on any given day.
It's not really that difficult is it? It's for the player that feels the ap2 looks a little too much "tour" and the ap1 looks too much "game improvement"
Honestly, I'm 4 minutes into this video, and I fail to see the need for these irons. Do you want AP1 or AP2? It's trying to do both, but I don't feel that there is enough difference to warrant an entirely different set of irons. Nice looking clubs, but when I think about it, this is almost like Taylormade flooding the market with 5 different drivers in one year.
kwillis3 these are supposed to to bridge the gap between ap1 and ap2 by building combo sets and what not..... you could go ap3 pw-7 and ap1 6-4 OR ap2 pw-7 and ap3 6-4
Neither Dan nor Mark hit the AP3 as well as the Titleist MB blades....Yet again we find that forgiveness is a MYTH! Put down your shovels and GO PLAY THE GAME as it was designed. Get some irons that don't snag the ground. Huge soles and long blade lengths aren't helping anyone.
Go get your PING K-Max Irons and play into a wind and get back with us. Since you're giving extreme examples....the fact remains that both these guys struggled with a club with tons of engineered forgiveness built-in while they played very well on course the simpler irons. Marketing.
As someone who currently has a set of Z565's but has also played Mizuno blades, I can tell you unless you're a great ball striker like MC, there is definitely a difference in forgiveness on off center strikes between a blade and GI iron. To deny that is being dishonest or you have not had a chance to hit them side by side. The Z565's or Z765's do not look like "shovels" and are great irons for middle to low handicappers.

Phil Considine hi I’m off 18. Do you think I could game AP3? I currently game JPX 900
@@davidtasker6663 , yes, very likely. Ive been an 11 many yrs ago today likely an 18 and just tested the T200 and Mizuno 919 forged/tour, and dtruck the Titleist much more consistently.

I could totally blend the AP1 4-5-6 with AP3 7-PW as an 18hcp. Love the looks of the new line up
This is what I did, it works for me
I love Dan's thoughts on clubs, seems like he really knows what he likes and what works for people and doesn't for himself etc.
Love these reviews with you and dan. Keep dan with your reviews brah.
Loving Dans input in these videos!
Yes, definitely worth a try. Parked my 4 and 5 AP-2 irons and use hybrids but would like a longer iron sometimes that might fit a distance gap better and give me the feel I get for ball flight control. Thanks for testing all these new irons.
Such a beautiful looking club titleist are good and making a great club.great vlog crossfield as always
Good to see more of Dan.

really enjoyed the video. I agree that they fit into the combo set options. I am ordering the ap2 into the 5 iron and getting ap3 in 4 and 3

1+2 = 3 AP3 is a blend of both AP1 and AP2... Cheers!
Fibonacci
Did you come up with that all by yourself
best review yet - keep it up brah!!
AP3 to AP2 are what i200 are to iBlade. Long iron replacements while still properly blending into the set.
I used to use Titleist clubs so tested the AP2 and the CB, I preferred the CB didn't even think of going to the AP1 so to stick another option in I probably wouldn't have tried them either.
I bought Mizuno in the end
Well done bro. I love your videos. There very interesting and funny at the same time.

Apparently it's called the AP3 because it has the distance of the 1 and looks of the 2 so 1+2=3.
I enjoy the banter and humour; makes it not dry and clinical. Can' beat PoM humour
P.S. I just bought a set of AP3 today (08.10.17) I hope they help my game! Used to be a 3 h.cap
I like the look of these and would definitely like to try them. Not sure what the price point would be though
Would love to see how the AP3 compares to the Ping i200 Power Spec.

Has Coach been put in time out? :) Lovely clubs... Titleist does a nice job of making "blendable" sets... We do need a WITB for Dan!!
I think I would do a combo set. Ap2 up to like 6 or 5 iron and not sure about ap1 or ap3 4 and 3 iron
Dan was aimed way right on that first shot!
Thoughts on AP3s vs. Cobra KING forged tec 2020?

On course testing. So much better than Rick Shiels reviews
Shiels is just a 'distance' banger ...
Waiting for AP4 cause it’s going to take up all the 1,2&3 hits longer, higher and easier all in one clubs.

set up for next model i bet. ap1 going to be super chunky and then ap 3 will be the old ap 1
I think the AP3 is the best looking iron I've ever seen. But I cant afford to buy them and will have to stick with my Taylormade R7XD irons .
perhaps that you could have a bit of all of them ap 1. then 2 then 3
Comparison with the new Taylor Made foam filler?

sounds as though you're adding loft at impact with your wrist angles brah! Mark has some great videos on this
think titles have made 6 great clubs that are really aimed at combo setting

+jim mcmahon never realised it was such a huge gap in there bruh. 👍
If you have a 43* p/w what are you're gap/sand/pitch wedge supposed to be? 48/52/56?
Haydn Reed id go 48 53 58
theres a gap wedge in the ap 2 & 3 and and 2 wedges in the ap1.the ap 3 one is 48 the ap 2 is 50 and the ap1 is 48 & 53
Ap1,5
where is Coach?
Are you no longer at your own practice center ?
Classic testing can't beat on course reaction to clubs with dry ball numbers thrown in - don't see a market for ap3 tho
where did you get the hat
Is the AP3 closer to the MP18 SC or the MMC? Thanks
J Roc mmc, but an mmc is smaller than an ap2 so not really in the same category ap3 is bigger stronger more forgiving
It's simple to me. It's the looks of ap2 plus the forgiveness of ap1 (2plus1) equals ap3
You get some of the forgiveness of ap1 but not all of it.
7:31, yes exactly
Looks like Ping Eye 2 with a sexy shaped cavity. Personally never got on with Titleists but maybe that is a good reason to give them a go. Its new !!
Winner winner, chicken dinner!
What clubs does Dan play? He always says too much offset!
+Dan Higginbotham one with no offset 😂
I guess they are like ping I210, while ap2 is like ping blueprint. I think Ping look more clean tho
AP 1.5?????
Nice club
really lovely
didn't take you long to suss millions of dollars of marketing research! Forgiveness of ap1 Looks of ap2= ap3
AP 1.5?
looks way chunkier than ap2 and way stronger lofts
Reading it off your phone?
They love themselves
Titleist might've well named it AP 3/2
The lofts are just ridiculous ...
Has Dan hit A green once?
first! :-), i like this Club, looks great!
It's not really that difficult is it? It's for the player that feels the ap2 looks a little too much "tour" and the ap1 looks too much "game improvement"
+Scouse Sox you are right that is a huge gap. All so clear 😂👍
dr spin dan is great also
Why don't they just make Ap1 prettier? Cheers Bruh x
Bring back the comment show.
43* pitching wedge 😳😳
What's wrong with that ?
Patrick Kelly you'll need 2 gap wedges
Most people don't realise how strong the wedges is and go to a 52* gap wedge over 20 yard distance gap
Just get 48 gap 53 san 58 lob and youll be fine
Cornwall1888 I
the 5 degree strong bend in the hosel
Stop getting stumped on the names and just review the damn club. Geez. The other guy gets it.
Look very lovely 😉
They should have called it ap 1.5
pavandeep sittre which sounds utterly ridiculous........
At least it makes sense
pavandeep sittre it's an ap2 ap1 hybrid 1+2=3
Cornwall1888 if you have to sit the ap3 somewhere in between all these clubs. It's between the ap1 and ap2. So ap 1.5 makes the most sense
pavandeep sittre but 1.5 is bad name
I would've called it the ap2 and called the new ap2 the ap3, confusing at first but people would get used to it
God sake Mark, not that difficult, really is it
Ap1 plus ap2 equals ap3
they should have forged them. For people that want forged ap1s
1+2=3

100% Correct. You cannot buy a game. You have to practice .
