    I am in the process of making this pocket shawl. I’m doing the long row repeats to make the body of the shawl. So far, on each row I have ended with a double crochet. On the last row, I ended with a single crochet. I tried to look over the row to determine where I messed up but nothing is obvious. I’m hoping I don’t have to pull out the entire row and do it again. With the rest of the rows “be off” if I end this row with a single crochet? Any suggestions on how to determine where things went wrong? Thanks for the tutorial. I think your shawl is beautiful.

    Well I must be doing something very wrong. I did choose a heavier yarn Bulky 5 with an 8 .mm hook. I am about half way along and it looks like I will be using about 18 balls of 109 yards of 100g yarn.
    It is a beautiful multi color Tweed yarn. I am relatively new to crocheting and probably doing it tighter than I should but I am not having any problems with putting my hook into the loops. It is definitely going to be a very warm shawl. Any tips would be great. I think it would show if I went to a larger hook at this time.

    Hi I started looking at your video cause I like the shawl. I was following along up to the point where you say 160 rows I got confused. You explain that the bumps are rows and in between are rows. So when I count 160 I’m counting bumps and in between for a total of 160 right. Or 160 just the bumps can you help please thank you 👋🏻🙂

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  Рік тому +2

      Im sorry You Got confused. Its both the bumps on the front and back. So 160 in total 😊

    Love the pattern so much I had to try to make it. Using yarn I already had in my stash and a slightly smaller hook. I purchased and printed the pattern, but there is not a gauge on the pattern. So I have a question. You stated. You could make it as long as you wanted, just to Mach sure it was an even number of rows on the brim. So for working horizontally, my 42 rows did not measure the 48 cm from the brim. Do I work an even number of rows here too until I have the 48 cm?

    It is very important to give finished work size. Some people crochet loose and some tight. You can change the hook size to make it the finished size. I have been crocheting for 56 years. I can figure things out on my own. However new people need more help! the finished size would be very helpful. It would show if they were on the right track.

      You can make it any way you want. Try to make sure the yarn weight is the same so you don’t have buckling or puckering. If you start with weight #4=continue with #4. I am making mine with scrap yarn. Some people think you have to use the same yarn when dipping this. That’s not true. Some of the prettiest sweaters I’ve made had yarns of different colors, textures, and finishes- shiny or matte. Just don’t use anything that is too different. Don’t use a #4 and # 6. If this is your first garment, you might want to stick with yarn that’s the same. You dipont want to have too many concepts to deal with at once.

      I'm using a 5mm hook....I didn't realize she mean 5mm hook in the beginning until I looked back when I hit 160 rows....now I'm at 240 rows and now it's looking about right. I didn't want to frog hahaha. I might go for 260 rows on the boarder and I did it 11 stitches in the beginning so I'll have 10 stitches all in one. I hope this kind of helps 😅
