Instructions were easy for a beginner. I’ve only been crocheting for a few months. It came out great and now friends and family are putting in their requests. 😊❤
I just came over from Etsy haha, I was a goof and accidentally put the "Sjalmedlommer" version in my cart 😅I'm so glad there's a video tutorial for this pattern so I can follow along ❤Can't wait to start this project, it's so beautiful!
I definitely think I part remembered this pattern. I usually knit this like this but I want to take a jab at this since I've recently picked up crocheting. Thank you so much for this beautiful tutorial
I am in the process of making this pocket shawl. I’m doing the long row repeats to make the body of the shawl. So far, on each row I have ended with a double crochet. On the last row, I ended with a single crochet. I tried to look over the row to determine where I messed up but nothing is obvious. I’m hoping I don’t have to pull out the entire row and do it again. With the rest of the rows “be off” if I end this row with a single crochet? Any suggestions on how to determine where things went wrong? Thanks for the tutorial. I think your shawl is beautiful.
How many yards/meters of yarn would you expect to use for this project? My friend is buying the yarn so I can make it for her but I don’t know how much she should buy. Thanks! I can’t wait to do this!
Well I must be doing something very wrong. I did choose a heavier yarn Bulky 5 with an 8 .mm hook. I am about half way along and it looks like I will be using about 18 balls of 109 yards of 100g yarn. It is a beautiful multi color Tweed yarn. I am relatively new to crocheting and probably doing it tighter than I should but I am not having any problems with putting my hook into the loops. It is definitely going to be a very warm shawl. Any tips would be great. I think it would show if I went to a larger hook at this time.
Hi I started looking at your video cause I like the shawl. I was following along up to the point where you say 160 rows I got confused. You explain that the bumps are rows and in between are rows. So when I count 160 I’m counting bumps and in between for a total of 160 right. Or 160 just the bumps can you help please thank you 👋🏻🙂
Love the pattern so much I had to try to make it. Using yarn I already had in my stash and a slightly smaller hook. I purchased and printed the pattern, but there is not a gauge on the pattern. So I have a question. You stated. You could make it as long as you wanted, just to Mach sure it was an even number of rows on the brim. So for working horizontally, my 42 rows did not measure the 48 cm from the brim. Do I work an even number of rows here too until I have the 48 cm?
I saw reading the comments of an other person making the shawl. I saw the reply that you send her for the measurement that it was 160 cm does that apply to anyone that is attempting to make the shawl?? Thank you 👋🏻🙂
It is very important to give finished work size. Some people crochet loose and some tight. You can change the hook size to make it the finished size. I have been crocheting for 56 years. I can figure things out on my own. However new people need more help! the finished size would be very helpful. It would show if they were on the right track.
My first brim came out nice and straight. When doing the brim for the other side I all ripple and curvy. Can u crochet a separate brim and then attach with slip stitches to connect to the shawl?
You can make it any way you want. Try to make sure the yarn weight is the same so you don’t have buckling or puckering. If you start with weight #4=continue with #4. I am making mine with scrap yarn. Some people think you have to use the same yarn when dipping this. That’s not true. Some of the prettiest sweaters I’ve made had yarns of different colors, textures, and finishes- shiny or matte. Just don’t use anything that is too different. Don’t use a #4 and # 6. If this is your first garment, you might want to stick with yarn that’s the same. You dipont want to have too many concepts to deal with at once.
I now know what I did wrong. I slip stitched the same row I was in twice instead of going down one row and skip stitching then down another row and slip stitching. A days work ripped out and redoing.
This is a great beginner pattern and with your detailed instructions, I’m sure I can do it! 👏💕👌💕👍💕 I also appreciate your voice which is very soothing and you don’t hurry through the instructions. My only suggestion would be to eliminate the music which isn’t calming and is actually distracting for this 71 year old beginner. 🤦🏼♀️😉
I feel like 167 rows is way to long when I put it around me, I’m only I the 167 row boarder, can someone tell me if maybe as it gets wider it won’t be so long?
I'm using a 5mm hook....I didn't realize she mean 5mm hook in the beginning until I looked back when I hit 160 rows....now I'm at 240 rows and now it's looking about right. I didn't want to frog hahaha. I might go for 260 rows on the boarder and I did it 11 stitches in the beginning so I'll have 10 stitches all in one. I hope this kind of helps 😅

Wow, that is a lot of yarn 😳 How about the length of it? Is it longer than 180 cm?
It sounds beautiful with those colours 🥰

Im sorry You Got confused. Its both the bumps on the front and back. So 160 in total 😊

Hi there.
I have no idea what this can sell for, since I dont sell my projects. :-)

do I do a row a sc before starting the second ribbing section? I’m almost at that part and I’m stuck
I saw reading the comments of an other person making the shawl. I saw the reply that you send her for the measurement that it was 160 cm does that apply to anyone that is attempting to make the shawl?? Thank you 👋🏻🙂
Yes. If You follow my stitchcount, you will end up with about 160 cm 😊

FYI… the correct term for the “brim” is the BORDER. So you can use that term going forward 🙂. Nice job
Yes! Thank you! I always forget this when not making hats, sleeves etc. 😊
Harika 🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌💖💖💖
Teşekkür ederim 😊
How can I tell which stitch I’m on if I lose track? Thank you ❤
I would try to finish each row so You dont forget ❤️😊
My first brim came out nice and straight. When doing the brim for the other side I all ripple and curvy. Can u crochet a separate brim and then attach with slip stitches to connect to the shawl?
I did something wrong because I have ended up with double the amount of brim rows than the other side. What did I do wrong?
Still does not come out right.
Can we make the middle part multicolour with leftover yarns? Thank you!
You can make it any way you want. Try to make sure the yarn weight is the same so you don’t have buckling or puckering. If you start with weight #4=continue with #4. I am making mine with scrap yarn. Hello, Love this shawl and would like to make it. Do you have a written pattern?
Thank you so much. I will work on a written pattern 😊👍
😊😊😊
😊😊😊
How many yards of yarn does this take if I am using size 4 worsted weight yarn?
It depends how Big the skeins are. 😊
Could you please state the name of the yarn you used and the color? Thank you.
I used megaball aran from Hobbii in the color walnut.
Nice! What is finished dimension (in inches) ??
Hi Debbie.
Mine measures 63in/160cm.
/Vibeke
👍🥳💙🧡👏👍👏👍
❤️
About how long does this take to complete?
Hi Ali.
Thats a difficult question, but if you´re an intermediate crocheter, this might be done in around 10-12 hours.
/Vibeke
can't you do the edge After?
ne kadar ip gidiyor teşekkür ederim
Thank you so much ❤️😊
Do the pockets HAVE to be the width of the shawl? Would it look OK for pockets to NOT be so big?
Yes sure. You Can do it any way you like ❤️😊
What was the yardage for the yarn?
❤️
Do I count the foundation chai n as a row ?
I now know what I did wrong. I slip stitched the same row I was in twice instead of going down one row and skip stitching then down another row and slip stitching. A days work ripped out and redoing.
Is there any way of deleting the background noise
Sorry no.

The longer the sc edging would make it longer in length, instead of wider in width
I feel like 167 rows is way to long when I put it around me, I’m only I the 167 row boarder, can someone tell me if maybe as it gets wider it won’t be so long?
How many inches are 160 rows?
Hi Eva.
Mine comes out at 160cm (63in).
Can this be done with a 5mm ?
I'm using a 5mm hook....I didn't realize she mean 5mm hook in the beginning until I looked back when I hit 160 rows....now I'm at 240 rows and now it's looking about right. I didn't want to frog hahaha. I might go for 260 rows on the boarder and I did it 11 stitches in the beginning so I'll have 10 stitches all in one. I hope this kind of helps 😅
