I actually had the wonderful pleasure of hearing this song for the first time on Fourth of July on a boat in the middle of a lake with fireworks in the distance. It was magical to say the least.
Some songs just deserve to be remembered for eternity…this is just one of them…amazing world…amazing people….and so short life…..hope you ALL enjoy it to the fullest !!!!

I think you have to go even further back, to end of fifties and the beginning of the sixties. Harmonizing groups were very popular during these years, even if they modernized it there were of course no synthesizers back then. But the style is frorm that era.
