Dang! Gotta be one of the most impressive night sky timelapse vids Ive ever seen! Im 62 yrs old n low tech n only getting into night sky timelapse with a hero 9 that should be here i a week or so. You got some serious skills! Great work! Subbed 👍🏼
Hi, thanks for the informative video 🙏🏼I want to record a Star sky today... I want to start at 0:00. Can you tell me which settings I should use in the time lapse? It will be very darf in the Forest. It would be my first time lapse and that of a starry sky. Thank you very much! 🙏🏼
Me personally I usually go video mode….photo mode requires a few extra steps but you can pull more detail out in post. I color with a plugin called Color Finale Pro!
Just did a nite lapse and only got 35 seconds of footage and I had camera out over night with a battery pack plugged in fully charged and a 128 gig card. Seems I should of got more than 35 seconds. What did I screw up? Used all settings you provided…
Yo... Tim Blanton here. Yes, another Blanton! Nice video. My new Hero10 will be in my hands in a week and I look forward to using it for nightlapse and many other shots in the jungles of Honduras. My last GoPro was a 3+ so it's been awhile. I'll follow your settings and let you know how it goes. Regards.
That doesn’t make sense…..enduro battery should last awhile by itself but as stated in the video you should also use an external battery charger to keep the GoPro powered up over night. If you’re getting 8 seconds of recording then having the battery die I would say you have an actual GoPro issue. I would contact GoPro about that.
@@kaptajnsejersen6303 if my knowledge is correct that would be based on the shutter setting. So if the shutter setting is 30 seconds meaning the shutter is open and letting light in for 30 seconds at a time that would equal one frame of video. Shutter: 30 seconds = 1 frame of video.
@@CorbinBlanton i just made a test. I let my gopro 11 record for 1 hr in night lapse mode. I got 2 seconds of recording which means 30 minutes of recording is 1 second of actual recording which again makes sense I only get 8 seconds on a fully charged battery. A fully charged battery records for 4 hrs in night lapse mode 4k.
@@kaptajnsejersen6303 Got it! You were correct from the beginning…that’s kinda what i was getting at. I forgot that it’s only 1 frame of video per 30 seconds the shutter is open and if the video is filmed in 30 fps then 30 minutes of video would result in 1 second of footage. Thanks for doing that….keep that bad boy plugged in and get 8hrs overnight!
Wow!! Movement looks so smooth and natural, hard to believe that was done in post. Thank you for sharing
@@JustaParanormalGuy thank you!!
I love taking photos of stars and I'm excited to take photos with the GoPro settings you've shared here. Thank you very much.
i just wanted to say i extreamly enjoyed your video opening ! amazing music and shots !!!!subed !
Wow thank you!

The settings in this video should be good for that for the future.
stunning!
Thank you!
If you use Light Room Classic, there is a sync feature that lets you sync all adjustments after editing only one photo.
awesome video! will be using in my future shots as im new to the filming scene.
Awesome!
Hi :) what do you color with? Video or photo mode preferred?
Me personally I usually go video mode….photo mode requires a few extra steps but you can pull more detail out in post. I color with a plugin called Color Finale Pro!
love it
Thank you!
How do you deal with dew building up on the lens?
I actually haven’t had an issue with that at all
Great content
Thank you!
So if you use a battery pack do you remove the go pro battery first…
No you don’t just leave it and plug it in
Hi what we need is a tut on color grading nightlapses
Great idea! I’ll do one when I get a chance!
@@CorbinBlanton where is it
Hello;
How do you make a star night lapse in zooming during the capture ?
Thank you.
You don’t actually. The zooming & movement was added later in Adobe Premiere using a plugin called GoPro FX ReFrame!

I don’t think you screwed anything up that seems correct…did you see the full nightlapse till the sun came up in your footage?
@@CorbinBlanton yes but because we have a lot of smoke from the wildfires there were no stars at all.
@johnguz76 dang! You may have to wait till that smoke it gone!

Hey Mr. Blanton! Yes keep me posted!
Which settings would you use for photo mode instead of video mode?
Literally exactly the same for ProTune!
@@CorbinBlanton thank you! I'm new to photography/video editing and this is really helpful! So much to learn 😊

With your recommended setting I only get a total of 8 seconds of recording then the battery dies. This is with the endurance battery

@@CorbinBlanton Thanks for replying. Something still baffles me. How many minutes of recording a night sky equals to 1 second of actual recording?

What are your tips for color grading and sharpening?

I copy your set up and my battery is 100percenr but my night lapse is only 1 second why???😭
