- Catch up with the race highlights from the season opener of Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS at Imola. The Audi from Team WRT took the first win of the year, courtesy of Dries Vanthoor, Kelvin van der Linde, and Charles Weerts.

Amongst other GT3/4 series, idk why but GT World always deliver the best, and most cutthroat (in a good way) racing. Absolutely on the limit, no chances given whatsoever, and racing at its best.
Mind you that they have the best broadcast quality, especially compared to GT Open & ADAC. SRO is quite a big organisation. Don't forget they were the ones organising the official GT championship for the FIA back in the day.
Other championships are good as well but GTWC has most of the best drivers, teams and the better presentation. The last one is very important as well.
Because they don't further BOP cars based on driver classes. You see in other series how they like to nerf cars belonging to Pro-Am/Am entries so they're slower than the elite entries, you find none of that here. Driver skill is the true and only equalizer.
Maybe because we, in our minds have already known i.e. FIA Formula 1 to give us that fast, almost predictable race when compared to GT is that the cars are modified & not just built only for speed, and everything can happen unpredictably. Just my idea.

Don't expect a stellar season from Ferrari in GT racing. Their F1 team is finally doing good so it's the sportscar program's turn to suck. It's the old Ferrari adage.

Something is wrong with the sound, the cars sound distorted compared to the full race replay. The commentators are fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that 7:23 Bentley engine seemed like it exploded from the colision?! Oo
Just the aero spreading the bodywork from the collision I think but perhaps I'm wrong. There's a small flame after the collision so you might be right, but if it had exploded there would have been a larger fire.

Because there is no official manufacturer support anymore and it's much easier to race an Audi or Mercedes.
Are lambos always at the back?
Not really, they have some really good driver line-ups.

@@jacquesjtheripper5922 Yes the Lamborghinis have won many races in this championship. I believe the circuit wasn't good for the car either so they should be better at Paul Richard.

@@dane1sro278 The #95 pitted a lap after everyone else and lost like 20 places.
Mabye they weren't sure they about the 65 minutes rule as the others came in with 1:05h to go but that really seemed like a rookie error.
Too many car in one race crash can happen alot.every 10 minute yellow flag because too many crashes.They should make 20 or 25 car per races.
Why should they? Huge parts of the race were under green flag, there was just one long Safety Car and just because a gazillion cars crashed during different times.
20 cars sounds like f1 boring and for a 3 hour race
