- A quick video showing Deutz diesel shunter G617 returning light engine from Magnus' Grave at the start of the Halloween Saturday operations this year.
The loco had dropped off a generator for the lights and sound at the grave, and the brake van, and several volunteers who were to get very, very wet that day.
Sorry for the wobbles, it was cold, and very wet that day!
Brilliant catch and angle.
Lovely bit of video there Mike.
Great video, the Luxembourg railways had one of these shunting locomotives
Nice Shot there Mike !
That was interesting Mike, that shunter has superb visability through those large windows...Regards...Bob
Thanks Bob. It's a great loco for shunting - no need to have as shunter (man) guiding you in for buffering up, you can see it perfectly from the cab. Great for filming in too, though the dual-control levers can bruise the unsuspecting cameraman! CIE bought these for branch line work and shunting, I'm not sure they ever were fully exploited before withdrawal.
