@@alblua exciting! Also, question. At the end of your video, as well as another, I see that you guys are parking some of your company vehicles at a 3rd location. I know you guys have the two offices. Is this 3rd one a new office??

Love the analog gauges on the 2007! At what mileage will Peoria retire this coach? Will Peoria rebuild an engine and keep it in service or sell old coaches after certain number of miles?
Analog gauges are definitely nicer! There's no set point in retirement for us. Sometimes we will rebuild, sometimes we will sell, depends on the state of the vehicle
Happy 1k buddy! Do you think you control your head movements in service of the recording or do you look around the same as usual? Am kinda curious what a video of me driving with a camera on my head would look like lmao
@alblua Gotcha. I've ridden on a j4500 from this generation almost a decade ago with a zf. Was on a vacation tour with Lamers bus lines (largest bus line service in Wisconsin). Went to Michigan as well as Toronto and Nigeria Falls, Canada. Fun trip! That was June of 2014. Guessing it about a 2011 or 2012 model; one of the newest coaches in the fleet at the time. Bus # 1095
I remember being on an old Lamers Prevost when I was younger! I've seen them with some newer J4500's on the road recently. We had some C2045's for sure and maybe J4500's (not sure before my time) with ZF transmissions. They were very unpopular with drivers, passengers, and mechanics so we phased them out but kept the older Allison's around.
@@alblua first you're worth commenting on you provide excellent service. And you're very entertaining. I'm just as proud of you as when I met James. And unfortunately I never got to meet James in person. But he's a wonderful person and you represent all the things that he does.
Congratulations on 1k subscribers. Were you deadheading a bus, on a line run to Chicago, I recognize the Chicago yard. That was a noisy coach, but it is a 2007 with a lot of miles. Looking forward to more vlogs
It was a indeed deadhead back to Chicago base after finish a line run. 262k is actually very low mileage for a coach this old! We have 2018 coaches that have well exceeded 300k already and some 2016 coaches have surpassed half a million miles.
@@alblua I see now you were driving with the window open which probably makes the outside noise painful on video lol. But those roads didn’t sound smooth either
Also the bus in Chicago and it takes 2 days to go to Mexico and by the time I go to the border of Mexico my eyes are gonna be red because we always get there at 11pm or 12am lol
@@alblua When you kneel the bus after parking, I can’t hear the kneeling beeps from the outside. Only inside the coach. Gillig Low Floor and Prevost buses have kneeling beeps outside transit vehicle.
You can't hear it the engine is so loud and the condensor fans were right next to the camera. On the MCI J4500 coaches, the kneeling alarm is installed "just behind the door sensor beside the entrance door claw" (from maintenance manual). It's audible from the outside if you stand by the entrance door.
262,000? That almost certainly means the odometer has turned over once… more likely 1,262,000. Otherwise it’s done an awful lot of sitting around or the odometer isn’t right.
Haha, the body mileage is probably much higher. I know the vehicle has been rebuilt before but that was before my time. We are also not the first owner of this bus, I forgot which bus company had it before.
You sure give a very soothing and smooth ride on the nighttime Travel Alblua🌕🚍👍 If I was a passenger on your bus I would recline in the comfy seat and let that highway sound put me right to sleep. And Good Job Backing up at the end you got it perfect strait on first try👌 I'm wondering what is the length of the bus from front bumper to rear? Have a good one and hope the subscriber counts keep going up your videos are great.
Your bus videos help me sleep at night as my white noise

Lots of videos already filmed but need to be edited, stay tuned!
Wow the roads are bumpy there, my employer here in Florida has Temsa and Volvo charter buses
The Illinois special is paying all these tolls and taxes, but the roads continue to be really bad compared to our neighboring states 😅

That would be great. Thank you! I’ll at least change 266. I’m assuming the engine was changed at some point.
Send me an email! I know 266 has been refurbished before, but it looks like it's always had a Series 60.

Woohoo! I've actually been able to livestream surprisingly, UA-cam is all over the place these days 😂
@alblua I haven't watched this vlog yet and will be later after dinner. Is this older j4500 an Allison transmission or ZF?
This one thankfully has an Allison! We don't have any ZF's left in the fleet.

I edit CPTDB pages in my spare time. The entry for bus 266 notes a 2007 J4500 but with a Caterpillar engine… hmm
Do you want the fleet roster? I've noticed CPTDB is missing information as well. I can also promise you 266 is running Detroit Series 60 😅
Is the front of this bus as loud as the camera makes it seem? Nice video anyways and congrats
Maybe a little quieter, but otherwise yes. Illinois roads are pretty bad and rattle everything too 🥲

I’m gonna going to Mexico on bus and the bus is kinda like this but the headlights in the back is different I think it’s like an Mci E4500

You should compare the MCI J4500 to Gillig Low Floor because it has same park brake sounds and kneeling beeps.
Could have the same parts manufacturer! A lot of buses share some basic components. If someone with a Gillig invites me I'd be down!

Is it just me, or is the headlight aiming out of whack here?
My camera isn't really good at night and distorts the view since it's fisheye, which is probably why you think it looks off
Have you gotten a chance to drive the new h345s
Not yet 😢 They're based in Peoria and I'm Urbana and Chicago based
