Another video that I have enjoyed watching safe travels my friends ❤
And the Refit Saga Continues…The Highs & The Lows…Continue to Safe and Enjoy 😎
Have you weighed how much old wiring etc you’ve removed from your boat ? 😃🍻
No we haven’t but there was a sh@t tone 😆
Fabulous to see you getting all the "little" (and not so little!) jobs completed. It's going to be awesome seeing everything coming together when you're fully back sailing again. 🎉😊
Here in the USA it’s the same stupid thing. My credit card got compromised and I filed a fraud complaint. 10 days later I finally got my new credit card and the bad thing is on some accounts I have auto pay so I had to contact all of them and start over
The difficulty of finances traveling is a important video.. My wife and I are working to get onto our boat full time being newbie’s it’s a little overwhelming.. The amount of learning is overwhelming thank you for keeping us grounded and explaining does and don’ts.. stay positive our thoughts are with you and your family.. Tell Bella what awesome idea on the u
Lures I meant to say get idea Bella
You have ground/earth and negative bond circuits to reduce potential between dissimiler metals in the hull (reduce galvanic corosion and damage from lighting strike) never earth a device (negative return) to the negative bond circuit. All LV AC & DC devices (circuits) should have there own negative returns (earth/ground) to there power source via a Negative BUS to prevent electrolisis. It's all in the words, just never confuse earth/ground with Negative Bond or electrolisis will eat your boat away. Galvanic corrosion occurs between metals with different potentials, the resistance between the metals increases volts increasing the rate of corrosion. Electricity doesnt just follow the path of least resistance, it will follow any path it can. Typicaly bond circuits in larger vessels are solid copper strip between all the metal through hull fittings, mast etc. Dont take my word for this though social media is the least reliable source of technical information, Goggle is your friend but not the forums.👍🖖🍻
Always nice seeing your welds improving, great headway
I feel your pain, I had been with the NAB since they were known as the CBC. 2 years ago I had to do the same and I have never looked backed. I found the smaller banks are much better to deal with.
You guys must be going crazy for not being back on the water. Hopefully soon!
Yep 🤪
Maybe i can learn to weld too. need to make some grabrails and got quoted $2000. Matrial cost would only be $200. how hard can it be???
Lee makes it look pretty easy 🤷♀️
Westpac AU screwed me, without warning they sent my money to the government. I got a form to apply for a refund, sent it, then heard nothing from them, I phoned and was told that the document copies had to be notarised, expensive here, so the government of Queensland still has my money. Also Westpac Singapore suddenly gave me 2 weeks to send my money elsewhere, not posible, I had them courier me a cheque, then I had to fly to the other side of the world to open an account in another bank.
You're Correct.. NAB Suck.!
Murthy’s Law, get two cards. I always have two. Good luck. Love your videos.
Ive been there and know how frustrating that is! We need security but when security is so deep you cant even use your own card, that's too much!
Ahhh card headaches. I worked for NAB for 10 years, sounds like a major stuff up on their part as we use to be able to issue a card and have it to a international courier within 24 hours. Can I suggest you get an additional card holder on the Credit card account for who ever isn't the actual card owner. We have that set up so if any disaster happens, we have access to funds. As an ex staff member I don't get charged fees at all so having a card with no fees is definitely a win, Good on ING direct. I hope it gets to you soon.
Yeah it was a wake up call I guess we have been lucky over the years ☺️
Banks take your money then think it's there's. But still getting stuff done.
Guys a couple of years ago we were on the road in our RV in the far north of Western Australia and the NAB firstly put a stop on my wife's credit card and then on my credit card, great no money over 2,000 km from home nearest main town was Darwin, after some heated discussion with the bank on the phone we came to an agreement that I would call them prior to needing fuel or food and they would unlock the credit card for one hour and this worked for us for about three months, disappointed with the bank for leaving you in the poo like that, just get back in the water and enjoy life Cheers Rob
Cash is king.
It’s all going to be worth it, a minor blimp,
farrrken banks 😂
Loved seeing the genset run! What a fantastic cruiser network installation.
I have been on your website and cannot find a way to send you a one-time donation. Is there one?
Yes mate here is a link www.paypal.me/sailingcatalpa we appreciate your kindness.
So with all that transforming what hertz are you running as all you bits and pieces will live or fail based on the frequency.....
they did this to us because we were using every now and then the only way we sorted this out was to go into the local branch
Your country is going to be the first for digital banking! Be very very careful which bank you use! They can cut you off worse than that credit card did!😢😮
Do you think the hold happened because of something initiated in Mexico ? I had one happen once, it had actually happened twice, and my bank is really carefully watching my card now. That one happened in Florida, supposedly for a bottle of some sort of lotion in a massage parlor that cost $70 dollars ? Ah, right. WOW, that stainless welding knowledge REALLY comes in handy doesn't it !
Yeah apparently someone tried to use it and being in Mexico they didn’t hesitate to block it unfortunately it wasn’t the usual call and unblock situation 🙃
Another great video sorry about the credit card hope it gets there soon the other thing to be worried about is the Antifouling baking in the sun hope you get sorted out soon and back on the water.
Thanks yeah we do too 😄
I love that engine room, put me a bunk in there, I'd be a happy man.

Guys !! You are all such legends. So sorry that happened to you and I think it’s so important to share the highs and the lows of the lifestyle.
Thanks we do too it definitely isn’t all coconuts and dolphins 🤗
I know your feelings we just went threw the same crape with the same bank took a month to join our variably an our fixed together after our fixed rate ran out just kept on going around in circles with no clarity ended up giving nab a 0 rating next day wham bam all fixed up after my review good luck an happy travels
That’s a very nice weld for somebody who has not had a lot of experience. Good job 🙂.
Thanks 👍
Your tig work is getting to above average good job picking up a new skill.
It probably would have taken less time to apply for another credit card. So sorry you've had to deal with that
Probably 🤣
Im an australian and i would never use any Of the big 4 banks in australia .
Love the title of this episode! Appreciate the raw frustration. Always sending love to you guys! Hope the card arrives asap 🫡🤞
Thanks guys 😘
Nice weld, keep up the good work!
Thanks 👍
Anything is better than the Big Four
How can i send you food?
