Elder Dragons dont spawn from eggs, they are forces of nature like Gods in MH world, the Elder Dragon form is just a flesh avatar. I dont think we can ever kill them, they will just pop back up and materialize after a while.

Instead of all that. Think of this. You go in with a whole team, then after a while... The dragon freezes like it's trapped in time... Then your team disappears leaving you to fight it alone, a stronger variant of the dragon no less. That... Really hurt once a certain part of the theme hit.
Couldn’t have said it better, Vaal’s theme is so good, it’s so sad and yet so powerful. It gives Vaal so much personality, in my opinion far more than Kushala and Teostra, miles more than Xeno and even more than Nergi
It is the ruler of the Rotten Vale, after all. It is truly a place of death and decay. However, unlike many other elders that can disrupt the ecosystems they enter, Vaal Hazak seems to truly belong in the Vale, and is likely important to its proper function, spreading the effluvium around evenly so that everything in its domain decays rather than having the flesh-eating bacteria concentrated in a small few places. After all, without the Vale, the Coral Highlands, and perhaps the entire New World continent, would not be so full of life. Of course, when a Vaal leaves the Vale by becoming a Blackveil, that is when its power to disrupt is in full force.

It's at 0:45 that makes me feel bad for Val Hazak, because my theory on how it became like that is that a Kushala Daora somehow got messed up badly and it's body is mutating and rotting. It loosely explains why it looks so similar to Kushala Daora, metallic scales and all, and how it's able to control the Effluvial, because it's using the wind to control the spores coming from it's rotting chest. To me, having that theory just makes fighting Val Hazak so much more fun, even if it's an incorrect theory!

I do think Vaal Hazak shouldn't get hunt in the first place. Lore wise, this elder dragon is dangerous outside of the vale, luckily it lives practically through symbiosis with the toxic fume from the vale. However, Vaal Hazak also stands as the core digest system of the New World's ecosystem, with Rotten Vale exist just so Coral Highland and the other biome able to bloom, I find it weird that we were tasked to killed it. Blackviel Vaal Hazak on the other hand is a disaster elder dragon that needs to get hunt ASAP, as it found a new symbiosis spore that can be uses by it to create vale environment outside of Rotten Vale. it needs to die or all the biome would be destroy.

I personally think its theme is good for the monster he is, he and the hunter. Both locked in combat, the master of effluvium and to him he is the master of life vs some guy with a great sword. A duel to the death between man and something in my eyes would see himself as a God. Vaal would warrant such a grandiose soundtrack cause of how it would see itself

The scales seem a bit fishliike unlike Kushala’s. Although is is entirely possible that Vaal wasn’t born in the Vale.
