Lyrics: Ambulance, let me in Don't make me stay here Ambulance, hold your breath We're running short on air Breathe it in, resuscitate At the edge You see clearly I was dead Now I'm back to life And love is a fragile thing We all stand on a bridge That's been slowly burning down Ambulance, take me back To the house I was born in Ambulance, finish it Don't wake me up again Breathe it in, resuscitate At the edge You see clearly I was dead Now I'm back to life And love is a fragile thing We all stand on a bridge That's been slowly burning Breathe in, breathe out Resuscitate Blink if you're hearing this Are we clear? Set the charge, take the hit Clear Come on, just one more time Breathe it in, breathe in While there's still time We could be the heartbeat And everything nine-tenths collapsed Would come back to life We could be the breath of air Pushed into the lungs of the dying Can you feel a pulse? It's been stopped for so long Can you start it? Can you feel a pulse? It's been stopped for so long Let's restart it With a kick drum hit With a thousand voices With a single word "Live, live, live" When alone You see clearly I would know Now I want to live and love All the fragile things We all stand on a bridge That's been slowly burning down
God, why does everyone want "another full collapse" We ALREADY HAVE A FULL COLLAPSE!!!! They've already made it, we don't need another one. If Thursday kept making Full Collapse over and over again nobody would care about them anymore. In my opinion this new CD is the best CD they've ever done. Songs like Subway Funeral, You were the Cancer and As he climbed the Dark mountain, Friends in the armed forces are all incredible with little subtle things that blow me away.
15 years late, but this was better than Full Collapse, wish they had kept going the direction they were, they kept getting heavier and heavier, then we got No Devolution :(
Most of Thursday's songs are about distasters and Common Exsistence is telling another side of most of the distasters covered in their older albums. Resuscitation of a Dead Man being about what comes after a car accident. Understanding In a Car Crash and The Other Side of a Car Crash being about the events leading up to one and the actual crash itself. They've talked about plains, trains, cars, fires, gunshot victums, etc. Just another story of a tragedy.
@sXeMare I remember the Full Collapse tour! Out of body experience! When most bands during those tours have dispersed, Thursday got better! Think they toured with Mars Volta after War All the Time. That would have been awesome!
their second best in my opinion, after full collapse. It's very different from their others dics. It's a mix of what they do best: emotion and intensity, beauty in chaos
first, notice how i said that they were better when they were signed to victory. i didnt say anything about studio albums. kthl had three brand new songs on that album that are much better than the ones on common existence. secondly, island was only the distributing label for the US. thursday mostly worked with victory.
Yea but not as much complexity in the latest album. They still have a little verse/chorus/verse, etc. but it's obviously much better than the mainstream stuff today. And that's definitely an awesome tattoo to get.
uuumm didn't Thursday do the whole carcrash - ambulance theme thing in a city by the light divided... why are they rehashing the whole palaver in common existence? :S
actually, the best cd of 2009 was nightrage's wearing a martyr's crown. thursday was better when they were signed to victory. im sure they had reasons for signing to epitaph, but they sounded better back then
@oceanicflightdown Not enough room to write hate properly so don't jump to conclusions bud. It's an ok album but compared to their last work I think it's their weakest haven't changed my opinion since a year ago i posted the comment. And I think War All the Time is an amazing video, same with In Silence.
@kevstew26 yea i dont like this album that much, even though it was a huge step-up from the previous one. full collapse was their best, with war all the time a close 2nd and waiting in 1st
I didn't like too much the "counting 5-4-3-2-1" song, it didn't sound too much like them, the chorus sounded more like a poppy song, like a madonna's or timberlake's. but hey, I reaally love "Love Has Lead Us Astray", and "The Lovesong Writer" of the new album is pretty good too for me
i completely love the song... but the video drags part of the energy... the thing with the band playing always in slow motion kills the urgency that the song has.
They don't scream anymore and i don't know if it is because of lazyness or because they feel as though no one will take them serious if they do scream. I love Geoff's scream, it has a deep but piercing shotgun like effect that offsets the innocence in his singing voice. I wish they'd go back to making songs like Autobiography of a nation and A hole in the world. It just doesn't make sense, the one/only band that IMO does the sing/scream thing sincerely and they stop doing it all together.
You got 3 thumbs down and i agree with you i h8 it how ppl can't seem to understand that some ppl dont have to like everything I love the band but it doesn't mean i have to like every new change they do. I dont like the new album and this video is easily their worst video. Now i offended someone cause they cant respect my opinion so thumbs down for me
This music video is pretty bad, so low budget :( Did zack snyder (300) direct this lol...nah it would have been bigger budget But other than that, i love thursday, one of my fav bands that ive been listening to for years. But am i the only one who deson't like the new album? And dont give me a thumbs down, im a huge fan but seriosuly since im a fan doesnt mean i have to like every new sounding cd I can't get around to liking it very much
Thursday are one of the most underrated bands ever
Jesus, this album is 10 years old. It doesn't seem that long at all but time just keeps chuggin along
Greatest and most epic live show ive ever witnessed. Geoff is the all time best frontman hands down PERIOD.
this album is amazing, you can feel the emotions and feelings just stream through your body when you listen to it.
common exsistence is an amazing cd....
Lyrics:
Ambulance, let me in
Don't make me stay here
Ambulance, hold your breath
We're running short on air
Breathe it in, resuscitate
At the edge
You see clearly
I was dead
Now I'm back to life
And love is a fragile thing
We all stand on a bridge
That's been slowly burning down
Ambulance, take me back
To the house I was born in
Ambulance, finish it
Don't wake me up again
Breathe it in, resuscitate
At the edge
You see clearly
I was dead
Now I'm back to life
And love is a fragile thing
We all stand on a bridge
That's been slowly burning
Breathe in, breathe out
Resuscitate
Blink if you're hearing this
Are we clear?
Set the charge, take the hit
Clear
Come on, just one more time
Breathe it in, breathe in
While there's still time
We could be the heartbeat
And everything nine-tenths collapsed
Would come back to life
We could be the breath of air
Pushed into the lungs of the dying
Can you feel a pulse?
It's been stopped for so long
Can you start it?
Can you feel a pulse?
It's been stopped for so long
Let's restart it
With a kick drum hit
With a thousand voices
With a single word
"Live, live, live"
When alone
You see clearly
I would know
Now I want to live and love
All the fragile things
We all stand on a bridge
That's been slowly burning down
I love the fact that they just randomly got back together.
AriqFilms How is it radom, they wanted to make more music together, like they used to, what's wrong that?
HoodyT1991 absoloutly nothing. im extrmly glad they did. its just that is was so sudden
WHAAAAAAA???????????????????????????
id heard that hopesfall had too but then....NOTHING
That ROCKED!!!
so good. A complete Thurs song. has everything. bravo
By the way, incase no ones noticed, this songs er, beat, replicates a heart beart, which is perfect, considering it's about that..
Listen ;]
Lol you guys need to calm down. I feel like I'm the only guy whose been liking Thursday's change in each album. It gets better and better.
saw them on the Full Collapse tour . life = changed .
I agree it is just pure EPIC!
God, why does everyone want "another full collapse" We ALREADY HAVE A FULL COLLAPSE!!!! They've already made it, we don't need another one. this whole album is fucking amazing
So good live.
@strongbad89 they are really good live... I had the opportunity to see them as support for Rise Against and performing this song together with Tim :)
i love how this new album is an answer to war all the time
Can you shed some light on that?
Love the song sooooo much!
fantastic video and song. takes a little getting used to but it's an amazing record
i met and got autographs from these guys
awesome dudes
it was simply great ;)
@sXeMare I remember the Full Collapse tour! Out of body experience! When most bands during those tours have dispersed, Thursday got better! Think they toured with Mars Volta after War All the Time. That would have been awesome!
You are soo right. This album was the best they ever done imo
I was talking about the albums.. both are good.
sounds quiet good. I'm going to see them on 11/7 in Erfurt together with Rise Against.
their second best in my opinion, after full collapse. It's very different from their others dics. It's a mix of what they do best: emotion and intensity, beauty in chaos
Common Existence is the most punk Thursday album.
2:19 is like the coolest fucking part ever made
Happy EMS week 2022.
this album begun my wife and my 11 year marriage
@strongbad89 I've seen them 14 times! everytime is like the 1st! AMAZING!~
first, notice how i said that they were better when they were signed to victory. i didnt say anything about studio albums. kthl had three brand new songs on that album that are much better than the ones on common existence. secondly, island was only the distributing label for the US. thursday mostly worked with victory.
sweeet.
yay, featuring tim from RISE AGAINST!!!!!!
First half of the album is definitely much stronger than the second half..
Yea but not as much complexity in the latest album. They still have a little verse/chorus/verse, etc. but it's obviously much better than the mainstream stuff today.
And that's definitely an awesome tattoo to get.
Cool.. def a great band IMO. Check out Full Collapse and War all the Time.
TOP 🤟
It IS Tim from Rise Against :)
@ultrazproductions i agree completely. his screams rank up there with casey calvert's.
@strongbad89 have you seen them live yet?
I'm going over the lyrics later. For inspiration!!!
Nothing can beat full collapse
@galaxygirl100 haha I never saw the original tour, I saw the anniversary one with Underoath
thursday fucking rule seen em twice and im my oppion common existance is the best album, but all the other albums are pure genius anyways :P
both kill the house lights and a city by the light divided were victory.
I love how everyone's a critic
no he's doing backing vocals and screaming in this song
1:45 ... who screams???
sounds like tim from rise against??
please somebody answer me :)
screw mainstream.
uuumm
didn't Thursday do the whole carcrash - ambulance theme thing in a city by the light divided...
why are they rehashing the whole palaver in common existence? :S
actually, the best cd of 2009 was nightrage's wearing a martyr's crown. thursday was better when they were signed to victory. im sure they had reasons for signing to epitaph, but they sounded better back then
I'll second that my friend.
i cant hear tim lol...
i love this song
ahaaa no no i can hear him now...."breath in breath out"
and in the bridge....
PS they totally should have gotten him in this video.
Tim, dont appear in the video ¬¬, but we can ear him sing, he fucking own thursday
I don't like this band but i am the first one to watch this video?!
I came here for the screams
1:21 "Bitch, I'm fabulous"
in this song, it's arguably comparable to old offspring songs. but in better songs from both bands, there's way more of a distinction.
fair response ^^
you know why the did the slow motion tho right? it was to symbolize the decent of death...but i do agree they could've done a lil less
Just throwing it at the wall but....
...Theory of a Dead Man?
@oceanicflightdown Not enough room to write hate properly so don't jump to conclusions bud. It's an ok album but compared to their last work I think it's their weakest haven't changed my opinion since a year ago i posted the comment. pause @ 2:10, look at Rickly.
@kevstew26 yea i dont like this album that much, even though it was a huge step-up from the previous one. full collapse was their best, with war all the time a close 2nd and waiting in 1st

Where is Tim McIlrath?
Tim McIlrath screaming :)
2009 and only 100 000 views...
i completely love the song... but the video drags part of the energy... the thing with the band playing always in slow motion kills the urgency that the song has.
check out eyes set to kill... the song darling is sick
Sounds kind of like At The Drive-In.
@strongbad89 i wanna see you live.... if you know what i mean
hahahahahahahahahahahah
Hmm... needs more Tim.
look at LilVondyFilms comment
Wow i didnt know that videos existed 10 years ago
aahaa make no excuses for me good sir! I am but a disgrace to music-kind...i hear forth banish myself.....not
PS
your English is kick ass lol
@FanRiseA +100000000000000
No, that's a different guy
I wish Thursday went back to being heavier. They're still my favorite band though.
They don't scream anymore and i don't know if it is because of lazyness or because they feel as though no one will take them serious if they do scream. I love Geoff's scream, it has a deep but piercing shotgun like effect that offsets the innocence in his singing voice. geoff looks alot like when that one vampire was dyin in the bathtub in lost boys
3t comment, hehe
ugh.
i wish they made more music like war all the time
yes this is not the best song and video, not sure i like ambulance lyrics
You got 3 thumbs down and i agree with you
i h8 it how ppl can't seem to understand that some ppl dont have to like everything
I love the band but it doesn't mean i have to like every new change they do. I dont like the new album and this video is easily their worst video.
Now i offended someone cause they cant respect my opinion so thumbs down for me
haha yea- I pictured them being much younger looking.
This music video is pretty bad, so low budget :(
Did zack snyder (300) direct this lol...nah it would have been bigger budget
But other than that, i love thursday, one of my fav bands that ive been listening to for years.
But am i the only one who deson't like the new album? And dont give me a thumbs down, im a huge fan but seriosuly since im a fan doesnt mean i have to like every new sounding cd
I can't get around to liking it very much
It's a bit inconsistent for me. Has some great tracks though.
Their the worst at making videos, but idc they are just cool :).
tim isnt in this at all
man that songs sucks
