Hey guys, what's up? I'm Matt and in this video we're gonna fix your WordPress website not sending out any emails. We're starting right now. Log in to your WordPress website. If you're still logging in using /wp-admin/.... that's not a very safe way, so please watch my tutorial about WordPress security, because you don't want to get hacked.
The very first thing we need to check in here, is you go to 'Settings' and you go to 'General'. Now make sure to check that this domain name is your actual domain name. Because if you go to this domain, you can see that this is wpresdoc.com and this is wpresdoctor.com. This will not work. If you have your Gmail over here, and not your domain name, put your domain name in here. So I should do like this the@wpressdoc.com. That should work. Now when you change this email address you need to verify it first. Once you have verified it, come back and let's go to 'Plugins' and we're gonna 'Add new'. Now in here we go to search for "FluentSMTP" it's this pink one. FluentSMTP states on their website that: "FluentSMTP is free and will always be free! Yes no pro version of license is required!" And you can even connect it with Gmail with Microsoft with Amazon, and it's all free. And that's my friends why I recommend FluentSMTP over any other SMTP plugin out there. I personally used WP Mail SMTP for a long time, but it's expensive! I paid 100 dollars each year to get it running with my Microsoft 365 integration. But then I found this guy FluentSMTP! Press 'Install now' and we're gonna press 'Activate'. And we press this big button 'Configure FluentSMTP'. You can see that we can configure all of our email service providers with this plugin and it's all completely free. Now that's really interesting! If you just want to send out emails from your own domain name and it's not working, we can choose 'Other SMTP' over here. This is what we do. We go over there, we scroll down. We're going to connect this website with your custom domain name over here. In my case wpressdoctor.com. First we're going to specify our from name. So it's going to be Matt. Then we're going to put in our SMTP host. Now you want to have this information from your hosting company. This website is hosted on Siteground, if you have a budget it's a real good hosting company. If you're on a cheap side, go to wp.discount and you can find all kind of Hosting company with discounts. What we need to do is use our SMTP over there. In our case it is this SMTP outgoing server. So I'm gonna copy this, and then I'm gonna paste it in over there. And then paste in the port. Then make sure to use this port, and paste it in over there. Now the encryption we need to do is SSL. Because it's Port 465. And you might want to change it to TLS and then you have to use this port. But in our case it's SSL. Use Auto TLS, by default it will be used in the server supports it. We'll see about this server I don't know exactly, so just keep this on. And we have to use authentication. Then we're going to fill in our SMTP username....

I configured it when i try to test the email it is saying "SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Failed to connect to server"

@@WPressDoctor Really want the ability to have one opt in form for my would be subscribers to sign up to email and text notifications. My website does not have products to purchase...I have a cold list of emails, And I am looking to send out 1) An intro email to get them to visit my website, and if they want to sign up for email and/or text notifications. 2) An ability to create custome emails with links to send out weakly. In addition to that singular opt in form, I would like an ability to create multiple lists to my contacts for specific Emails (Campaigns I believe this is called) and a bounce back notification if text and email messages don't go through....Someone suggested Optusend plugin for text+Email marketing, so I downloaded that plugin, but it's saying I now need Woocommerce....so I downloaded that one too....but no inventory offered on my website,so Idk...lol

Optisend Idea, as I figured there were better options...i know I will need some kind of WordPress plugin that allows me to send cold emails first to capture subscribers, and I would really like to add sms texts notifications either initially, or not too far down the road.
Hey Matt thanks for this video. Do you have a video like this but the email is using Google workspace? My site isn't sending out emails. Contacted the host but they can't help since the email service is using Google.

I did everything as per your instructions, I'm still getting a failed message when I try email test "code": 422,

@@WPressDoctor I used Classima classifies ads theme. I noticed that user don't get verification emails after registration. So I set up the SMTP but still it is not working. The status is "failed". What could be the problem

I did the setup with Amazon SES. The test emails were sent successfully. However, the issue I am experiencing is when the forms are submitted, the emails are not sent. Please help with this.

What if you are building the website for a client and your email is in the admin setting (client doesn't deal with website, I look after updates and login notifications); how can I get the FluentSMTP to work, as my email is in there? Client's email isn't getting website's form and FluentSMTP was suggested ... but this Admin email is an issue. Any suggestions of a work around?
Hi there and thanks for the question! The admin email is not used when you are using Fluent SMTP and connect it to a smtp server. Because in the settings you can define the senders email address and name 💡 So keep your email as admin setting and use smtp to send emails 😀 Should work!

Hi there! Thanks for the question! Well if you receive the test email, it shows that your website and the plugin works, emails get sends! So that’s that. Which method are you using to send out a ‘real’ email? Is that a contact form or WooCommerce for example?
Email sent successful when I am login WordPress and filled form.
But if I am not login it's keep loading and not send email.. Some 401 error shows in console.. Please help
This sounds more like a reCaptcha problem than sending emails 😄

Thanks Matt. I certainly know what you mean about a hassle with Microsoft. I am trying to set it up at the moment for a client but unsuccessfully. I wondered whether you could advise with that? I wondered was whether the email address used to access Azure for the set up MUST be the email address used as the "From" address for FluentSMTP? At the moment client's IT guy set me up with an email ID to access Azure but no Microsoft email package plan, which could be why the test message keeps failing...?
Hi there, thanks for the question. It’s hard to tell. The login to Azure doesn’t have to be the same, as long as it has access to the emailaddress you are trying to connect. In this case I would ask the IT guy to walk him through the steps with you, so that he can provide you with the right keys. Works for me every time I encounter problems with clients and they all have these IT guys 😀👍🏻 There actually really friendly always 😎
@@WPressDoctor thanks for that. I've set up an app in Azure and connect to it but I thought I read somewhere that the account accessing Azure needs to be the one that is the active email account... Perhaps I'm wrong though lol.
Hm I have set this up multiple times via a tech guy, and he logged in via joe@company and we set it up for support@company… I think it’s only important that the logged in person has authorization to do so… but you can try it of course, azure is a big forest where you can easily get lost 😅

how do you setup the admin email in the 1st place?

Hi there! Thanks for your question. It’s awesome to see that emails are delivered to your mail! That was where this tutorial was about. The problem you describe lays with your webmail and thus hosting. Try asking them why emails are not going out 👍🏻😀

It may be suspended by your host if you or one of your other domains in the same host made bulk sms sending and consider it as spam.
