Hey Matt! Love your videos man. As writers it is hard to know how much or how fast we should be working, I find that I'm always asking myself is this enough writing for the day? Or am I writing at a good pace to where if I was writing professionally for a company I'd be ahead or behind. Any advice on the work speed or efficiency? Thanks!
Good luck with the campaign! Is there yet a viable altenative to Kickstarter for us comic types? Their recent NFT Skulduggery has driven me and my usual client base away, but I am left adrift.
Hey morg, cheers for watching. Yeah the block chain stuff is heartbreaking. I haven’t found an alternative yet, but I have started seeing people use a site called ZOOP to crowdfund. I’ve not had a chance to check it out yet, but might be worth a look!
Is it necessary to go and get a copyright for your comic book? Also how do you go and collect all the addresses for all the backers from the kickstarter?
Hey Grace, Great questions… As for copyright…I’ll be honest there is very little you can do if someone has then “same” idea as you. It happens to all the time and to on many occasions. All coincidences…primes example, over the last year I’ve been writing a comic about a female ballet dancer who is also a assassin….then John wick 4 dropped last week and a similar spin off is coming called….the ballerina. 🤣 You should always protect your ips where you can…it’s just hard and costly procedure. As for address on kickstarters, the site lets you send out a survey and the backers fill out their mail and email addresses. It’s pretty easy to use.

Good luck with your Kickstarter! I found it so difficult, so I will be really interested to follow along. =] Q) Are you working with an advertising agency or do you have any specific plans for advertisement and marketing?
Hey there! We're in the process of launching our first KS as well. Our biggest hurdle right now is the confusing step of trying to build in shipping estimates without knowing how many books you're going to sell or where in the world they'll be bought (our anthology's contributors are all over the world). Any advice?
Absolutely...i broke it down. so i new my comci was a 24 page comic, so bought some cardbaord C4 envelopes, then weighed them. That covered my weight for postage, so lets say that's £1.90 per comic i have to ship in the UK (work our your overseas costs too) So we have £1.90. Cost of teh envelops i bought 200 @ £58.99 = £0.29 per envelope Poly bag for each comic £5.39 for 100 = £0.05 per bag Paper to print label a ream was £8.48 for 500 sheets £0.09 (rounded up) ink for for printer £74.99 for 1427 prints = £0.05 per label Then add all that up... £1.90 £0.29 £0.05 £0.09 £0.05 Total £2.38 per comic to post in the UK but i roudned it up to £3 in the uk to cover my butt
I wll follow all your kickstarter videos. From first to last step.
Awwww cheers mate!
I really do appreciate the support

So we have £1.90.
Cost of teh envelops i bought 200 @ £58.99 = £0.29 per envelope
Poly bag for each comic £5.39 for 100 = £0.05 per bag
Paper to print label a ream was £8.48 for 500 sheets £0.09 (rounded up)
ink for for printer £74.99 for 1427 prints = £0.05 per label
Then add all that up...
£1.90
£0.29
£0.05
£0.09
£0.05
Total £2.38 per comic to post in the UK but i roudned it up to £3 in the uk to cover my butt
